As I write this, I am 55 years old and was born in 1955. My claim to fame is that Disneyland opened its doors the year I was born. Did you know that Disneyland is the "Happiest Place on Earth"? The reason you can be sure of this is that it says so right on the brochure. I mean, who could argue with that?
Steve Martin got his start by riding his bike to a newly-opened, out-in-the-country Disneyland. He was just a vendor, but then he kept getting promoted. Now he's famous. One of my daughters got engaged at Disneyland, and her now-husband was sick to his stomach at the time, as they had just gone on Space Mountain. My goodness, even I don't get sick to my stomach on the ride, but I'm just proving my point that it's a happy place for sure. Now, you know they had to get engaged at the castle. I mean, how strange would it be if it was at "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride"? Personally, I've been to Disneyland many times. But engaged? No, I did that at a park in California and have been happily married 33 years now.
The Happiest Place on Earth
But the truth is, the happiest place on earth is Jesus (Yeshua), who lives inside of us.
You might be thinking right now Where is the prophetic in this?
Well, we are a happy people and so we need to do happy things – like visit Disneyland. Sometimes, we just take ourselves too serious. I know I do. But I also love to laugh. God loves to laugh too, and they say that laughter is the best medicine. Personally, I think Jesus is the best medicine. He loved to laugh, and the children loved to sit on His lap – for children are of the Kingdom of Heaven. We need to approach God like little children, yes? When I was in Israel, walking to places Jesus did, I remember this kid running up to his daddy saying, "Abba, Abba." Now that will preach, eh?
Why am I writing this to you? Because we don't have enough fun in the Body! It's that simple.
Jesus always gravitated to the unlearned and the simple. Years ago, when I lived in Texas, I was given one of my first prophetic words. This prophet said God was sending me to the simple. We need to approach the world with a simple message. Bill Bright said it well. He wrote in the Four Spiritual Laws that God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. He was right. We just don't often read the fine print. We have to go through hard times to learn to love Jesus better.
Learn to laugh.
Can't You Talk Louder, God?
Learn His still small voice. My first book is called, Can't You Talk Louder, God? and I asked that because I wanted Him to talk louder. The Word says He is not in the fire, the wind and so forth, but He's in that "still small voice." We need to learn to hear Him in that "still small voice."
I've prophesied to movie stars, I've poked my head in the literal Oval Office during the Presidency of George W. Bush, and laid my hands on many of his chairs outside the Oval Office just before 9/11. I've prophesied to other well-known prophets who HAVE prophesied to Presidents. And I've even prophesied to Kate Middleton, a potential heir to the throne. I've prophesied at the Pentagon to uniformed officers, and I've prophesied to the Air Force Reserves. Each time I have to listen to that STILL VOICE, and I seem to die a thousand deaths doing it.
But again, it's always listening to Jesus' still small voice. That's the way it works, most of the time.
Well, that's enough for now, except this: I once had a prophetic line at a conference for HOURS, and I always had something prophetic to give each person in line... until this one lady came up and I listened to God for her but heard nothing. So I told her so. She said, "Good. God told me you would have nothing for me because I already knew what I am to do." I don't know what it was and I didn't ask.
I'm just saying, have fun, listen well, and prophesy if you can. Most can. They are just afraid to step out and prophesy. As the old commercial says, "Try it, you'll like it" (it was an Alka-Seltzer ad).
I hope you learned something today. Now I can rest my mind.
