Uncap the Spirit of God! The Spirit of Counsel and Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Fear of the Lord
Counsel and Might
Let's next look at the Spirit of counsel and might. I love the counsel of the Lord. Counsel means when you talk to someone and give counsel to them, you should minister out of the Spirit of counsel.
There's something of a depth of counsel that I look for personally on a day-to-day basis. For me, it's the ability to know the mind and intent of the heart of the Father on a day-to-day basis in three dimensions for: my ministry, my family, and people around me. This is a place where you can begin to walk – Jesus showed this.
This is so amazing to me because I've been so embracing this work of the Holy Spirit in myself and now I'm walking in it. My wife and son can testify of this, but I'll just be walking and bam, I get counsel for people. I don't know them, I've never seen them before, and I can just look at them and boom, boom, boom. I don't have to say, "Thus says the Lord," to them. I can just go, "Well...boom, boom, and boom," and they'll say, "How did you know that?" I can be ministering (and this is happening more and more) and just be in a room and boom – the Holy Spirit drops thoughts and different things from the Lord. Or while I'm ministering and walking among a lot of people, I'll just turn around and look at people, and say, "Man, the Lord has just shown me this, this, and this." They'll look at me and say, "Oh, my gosh!"
I'll just use this one for an example to stir something in you about the Spirit of counsel. I was in this church in Houston and I was getting ready to go to the meetings. I was tired. I'd been gone on the road for twelve weeks, just home two days every week, and then had to go right back out. I was about to go out of the door of the hotel, and the Holy Spirit said, "Wait! I want to tell you something." I said, "Okay." He told me a name and the exact details as to what was taking place in a certain lady's life when she'd wake up during the middle of the night. The Lord said, "This is going to break open the meeting for you." He said, "This is going to break something in the meeting, so I can move amongst the people." I said, "Okay."
So I get there, give the lady's name, and I say, "Is there a Maria here?" Maria's mom said, "Yes, she is here. My daughter's name is Maria, but she just left and went out with those who were called to be baptized." There were several hundred people down at the altar, but they went to bring Maria in and so I waited. I walked over to Maria and I said, "I've never seen you, never met you, have I?" She said, "No."
My guess is she's probably 17 or 18 years old, something like that. I'm not sure of the exact age. I said, "I've never met you, never seen you, right?" She goes, "That's right." I said, "Well, guess what? The Lord gave me your name, and He said this is what's happening to you in the middle of the night. You're waking up and this part of your body is not waking up sore, but you're actually waking up in a place where you're completely stiff in this area of your body."
I told her exactly what was happening to her in detail. Tears started coming out of her eyes. Now, God revealed to me her name and what was happening. I said, "There's a great fear that's taking place not only in you, but your mom, too, because of what's happening to you in the middle of the night. You're scared that you're going to go into this paralyzing thing and you're never going to come out of it and God revealed that to me." How many of you know that if God revealed it to me, He can heal it? I said, "Now do something that you couldn't do before." She said, "I couldn't raise my leg like this. Oh, my gosh!" She began lifting her leg up and down. The Lord had instantly healed her!
The whole place broke wide open. People all over began instantly being healed. I asked the people to raise their hands who knew that the Lord had just healed them. I couldn't count the hands. That's the counsel of God!
Not Just Counsel, But Friendly Counsel!
Do you understand that there is coming a time when the prophetic will flow in such a way that, the Bible says, the intents of the heart will be revealed?
The counsel of God is also the ability to comprehend. This is what I'm asking for you today on a day-to-day basis, so you will know the mind and heart of the Father for your life. How many want a river of counsel, the thoughts of God toward you, for your life today? How many would like to wake every day like David, who said, "The sum of His thoughts are like sand on the seashore, and they're precious to me. When I wake up in the morning, His thoughts are there with me" (Psalm 139:17-18, paraphrased)? How many want to build according to the blueprint of Heaven? How many want the deep counsel of God?
How many of you are ready for not shallow water stuff any longer, but you're hungry for the deep, deep, deep things of God? In Job 29:4-6 it says that he moved in such an anointing that the rock poured rivers of oil for him and his path was like butter. How many would like to live in an anointing where there was not just a little river of oil, but rivers of oil, so your path was like butter in your life? Well, something that was brought out is that the friendly counsel of God was over Job's tent. How many would like to have God's counsel – and not just counsel, but friendly counsel? How many of you know He tells the secrets and deep things of God to those who are His friends? How many want to live by the counsel of God? I want to live by the counsel of God, actually living in a flow of the counsel of God.
There are several other Scriptures on counsel that you can look up. One of them is 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 about the counsel of God, the deep things of God. Those are so awesome. I ask the Lord all the time for the deep things of God. Psalm 33:10-11 says that the heart of man's plans is for a season, but the counsel of God stands forever.
The Counsel of God Releases the Might of God
The counsel of God releases the might of God. Counsel and might go together. I'm not just saying that every once in a while we will feel the might, but we can live in a place of the might of the Lord.
I believe Caleb and Joshua had the counsel of God, and that's why they were able to say, "We're well able to go in and take the land." They had the counsel of God. What was the counsel of God? "I give you Canaan. I give you that land; it's yours. And I give you the milk, the honey, the homes, the wells, everything to dwell in." The counsel of God was revealing His heart to that generation, saying, "You can have it all." Caleb and Joshua said, "That's the counsel of God." Then they were walking in the might of God.
But the others didn't have the counsel of God. They just heard it from somebody else, and so they couldn't grasp it and therefore couldn't operate in the might of God or realize that even though there were giants in the land, it didn't matter; they didn't realize they could walk in the might of God because they had the counsel of God (see Numbers 13-14).
The might of God is the vigor and strength of God, not only in you but upon you to fulfill that which He's revealing to you. Have you ever felt like you were fifty feet tall? The might of God is an incredible thing! You're walking in such strength in your inner man that you know without a doubt that you can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). How many would like to wake up every day and be flowing with a river of the vigor and strength of God in you and through you, toward you, for you and through you?
It's awesome to be able to get the heart of God, but then to be able to see the flow of that through your life is even better. I'm telling you, I believe that we're about to see an anointing that's going to blow our minds. Listen, I am totally convinced. You can't tell me otherwise. I'm sorry, you can't. How many of you know that you're born again? Can anybody tell you otherwise? Can anybody tell you that you're not? Why? It's because you know.
I'm totally convinced that we can live daily in the strength of God for our lives. I am totally convinced that I can wake up in the morning and have fresh strength in my inner man to walk through life as an overcomer, not being overcome. I believe that with all my heart. I believe I can walk in the might of God. I can live in His strength in my inner man, which tells me that I'm deeply rooted in Him; and it doesn't matter what wind comes, it doesn't matter what storm gets to me, I'm not going to be tossed to and fro. I'm going to walk in the strength of God for my life. How many today would like for that to be released for your life?
The might of God. How strong is God? If you had to put a measurement on the strength of God, could you even put one on Him? Can He lift a thousand pounds? Can He lift the weight of the world? Can He take the sin of the world? Yes, He has done all of that. God is strong, and you can live in the might of God for your life, toward you, for you and through you. I mean, not just every once in a while, but a river flow of might!
The Knowledge and Fear of the Lord
Now for the last two Spirits of the Lord: the Spirit of knowledge of the Lord and the fear of the Lord.
I love the Spirit of knowledge of the Lord because I really feel like that's a major release right now for the Body of Christ. One of the functions of this aspect of the seven Spirits of God is an ability to know God like you've never known Him before. I'm telling you, people are hungry to know Him. It's also an ability to see from His perspective. Have you ever been around somebody and they're talking about the things of God, but something just totally grips your heart in this capacity, in this way: "That guy knows God!" Have you ever been around someone like that?
You know, there's talk, and then there are those people who diffuse something. Something is provoked in you. I want to know God like that. I like hanging around people like that. How about you? When you talk to them for even fifteen minutes, you get so much, because they're telling you from the standpoint of the knowing of the flow of God. You go, "Oh, my gosh!" Has anybody had that happen to them? How many of you want to flow in that?
The fear of God. Do you understand that out of the knowledge of God there comes a deeper fear? Fear is a holy reverence, a holy awe. I reverence God. How many would like the realm of the fear of God to be released in your heart to such a capacity that you're overwhelmed and in an awestricken state?
I was in a meeting, and right in the middle of the meeting during worship, a deep holiness came into the room. I have it on video. Ten weeks of revival exploded. I'm standing in the pulpit actually reading Revelation 4. The worship team was playing, and all of a sudden, we hear this "kaloop, kaloop, plunk, kaloop." I thought, "What is going on?" I turned around and looked and the worship team was falling out one by one.
The last guy to go was my friend, Dennis. He was at the keyboard. He was trying his best to stay. I hear "bam," and I turned around and looked. Nobody was saying anything; hundreds were on the floor, others were just bowed. I was the only one standing. I got down quickly. Listen, that's the realm of God coming in such a capacity, such holiness; and I believe we're going to have meetings like that where God comes in that way and people are going to cry out, "What must I do to be saved?"
Beyond Any Dimension You've Already Known Him
So today I'm going to ask the Holy Spirit to introduce Himself to you beyond any dimension you've already known Him. That's Scriptural. That's Ephesians 3: the length, width, depth, and height – the dimensions of God's love. How many want to know Him, not just as "holy" but "wholly," with every fiber of your being filled with Him? I'm going to ask the Holy Spirit for a new dimension of communion with Him, friendship with the Holy Spirit. I'm also going to ask for the Lord to uncap the rivers of the fullness of the Holy Spirit for your life today. I'm totally convinced every Believer has this potential, and it is their inheritance to operate out of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
What does that look like without measure? Do you know what I believe that means? I don't think it means you have to wait for a gift and move out of the gift – there's nothing wrong with a gift – but I believe you can live out of a place of perpetual flow of the Holy Spirit through your life. As a Believer, you can wake up every day and live in fresh strength of the Holy Spirit, with fresh oil in your hands, and in fresh anointing, day by day. You can live as an overcomer and not be overcome. You can be a finisher of the race to which God calls you. You can do above and beyond anything you can think or imagine according to the exceedingly great power that works for you and toward you in your life (Ephesians 3:20).
I believe that is not just for one or two. Every Believer has the potential to see the impossible become possible. I'm going to ask that for you today. How many would like to receive that today? Do you understand it is released and sustained by hunger? I can want it for you, but I can't get it for you. Now listen, I know the grace of God – there's going to be a release today in your inner man. I'm not just asking for an anointing upon you, even though I believe there's going to be a fresh anointing upon you, but I'm going to ask the Lord to do something in you of the function and the expression of the sevenfold operation of the Holy Spirit through your life, the uncapping of rivers. How many want rivers in your life?
Now I believe there's going to be something released for you and in you, but do you understand that even though it's by grace that it's going to happen, it is your maturity, your embracing and your pressing into it that is going to determine the sustaining and increase of that?
I'm going to ask for you today that the Lord uncaps these wells for you, but also for the Spirit of knowledge to reveal Jesus to you in a way that you've never known Him before. The Lord has a key to unlock your spirit, and this key is the knowing of the Holy Spirit. He's going to unlock some of you as you read this. You will be unlocked into some of that dimension of knowing God, the knowing of the Holy Spirit, the communion of the Holy Spirit within you.
Prayer for the Gift of the Holy Spirit to Be Activated to a Greater Dimension
Let me pray this with you today:
Holy Spirit, we want to know You. We want to know You as Jesus knows You! Jesus said that we could know You and see You. The Word says that we can have communion with You. We ask for that today. We ask today, Holy Spirit, for length, width, depth, and height of communion with You that we've not known. I ask for every person reading this to know that communion and friendship with You. We ask for clarity and certainty and confidence in You, Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit. More, Lord.
The river is rising, my friends. This is not just a touch today, this is activation. We're asking for the gift in you (the Holy Spirit) to be activated to a greater dimension.
We willfully surrender our will to Your will. We are Your temple or house of Your holy habitation, and we submit every area of the house to You. We ask for the invasion of Your holy presence in every area of our lives today. Anything that's been restricted, anything that's been inhibited is loosed today, and we receive with great joy the depth, friendship and communion with You, Holy Spirit.
We thank You for the Spirit of wisdom and understanding in the place to know Him like we've not known Him before. Holy Spirit, today we thank You that You will teach us the deep things of God. We ask for a mantle of Ephesians, chapter 1, of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. It is our blessing and privilege to know the mysteries, secrets, and the thoughts of God. We want to know that.
We're engaging today in the revelatory realms of Heaven. Every blessing is ours in the heavenly realms, and we're seated in heavenly places by one Spirit with the Lord (Ephesians 1:3, 2:6). We're engaging in the deep things of God today, and even the sound of the waterfall will not drown out Your voice, because we know the deep, deep, deep places in You (Psalm 42:7).
We want to operate in the fullness of Your holy presence. Unlock it, Lord; loose the rivers in us today, toward us, for us and through us. Come, Spirit of wisdom, Spirit of understanding, Spirit of counsel, Spirit of might. Some of you are going to be mighty, mighty warriors of the Lord. Come, Spirit of knowledge, Spirit of fear of the Lord. And they all come from Your manifest presence, from Your manifest presence, through You. So I'm asking today for a greater release of Your presence. I'm asking for the wells to flow. We speak to the deep and say, "River, flow!" We speak to the Rock. We don't hit the Rock. We speak to the Rock and say, "River, flow!" Christ in you, flow. Flow, Rivers, flow.
Now who's the Rock? Christ Jesus in us is the Rock. So we spoke to the Rock (like God told Moses to do in Numbers 20:8) and asked the Rock to loose rivers of living water. You're going to find yourself flowing out of another dimension of gifting, that flow of the Spirit of counsel, the word of knowledge, different things like that. Who would like that, for the Lord to tell you things?
Holy Spirit, You tabernacle with us and we embrace and ask You to form Christ in us, His character, His nature and His power; but we want to walk in character, integrity and the nature of God, also. His nature is love. God is love. We want to walk out of His character by the Holy Spirit. We want to walk out of the nature of God's love by the Holy Spirit and in His power. Thank You, Lord. Amen!
