This time of year (first published in April by Chuck Pierce) focuses us on the Lord Jesus Christ, The Resurrection, and His power over death, hell, and the grave.

TO RESURRECT: TO BRING TO VIEW . . . TO RAISE FROM THE DEAD
==========================================================
To resurrect is to “bring to view, attention, or use again; to raise from the dead; the rising again to life; a belief system that yields to spiritual understanding and life.� Jesus overcame and was resurrected. This is the key event that must be embraced for salvation and power in our lives. It is one thing to believe that God came to earth as Man. However, the power of our salvation is manifest in our belief that He overcame the death grip of the author and thief of sin and destruction. At the beginning of this year, a new song came forth in a meeting that we were having here in Denton for intercessors from around the region. That song was “Lazarus Come Forth�!

As I do with all prophetic songs, I asked the Lord to reveal what He was saying to the Body now through these words: Lazarus Come Forth! To begin with, I asked these questions: Why did John devote so much time to this particular miracle? Was the raising of a dead person the issue? What was the relationship of this particular display of power and the events that were to come?

JESUS HAD RAISED OTHERS FROM THE DEAD -- WHY SO MUCH ABOUT LAZARUS?

There had been other recorded events of Jesus raising individuals from the dead, so this was not a unique event in His ministry. He had raised the son of the widow of Nain, and Jairus’s daughter, and neither of these events created the turmoil of Lazarus’s resurrection. In John 11:4, and v.20-27, He stated that Lazarus’s sickness was not unto death, but “for the Glory of God�. This was a synergistic event in the history of Jesus’ life that culminated in Jesus’ death and ultimate defeat of the dark powers holding mankind.

Here are some key prophetic points I see for the Church today:

DO NOT BE "COERCED" OUT OF THE FATHER'S TIMING FOR YOUR LIFE
============================================================
We should not be coerced out of the Father’s timing. With the Lord’s love for Lazarus, Mary and Martha, you would have thought that he would have immediately left his post and went to his sick friend.

However, he waited two days. This event revealed the ability to control His emotions. This showed that friends and close acquaintances could not be coerce Him out of the Father’s timing. He was not moved to action by external forces. This is key for us in days ahead. Our emotions must be intact so we stay in God’s perfect timing and be at the right place at the right time. After three days, they taught that the soul returned to God.
================================ HIS SOUL HAD "DEPARTED" FOR SURE
================================
The rabbis taught that the soul hovered near the deceased for three days. His two-day delay made Lazarus’s grave stay 4 days. This meant he was good and dead and that his soul had departed. This is the only record in the Bible of a resurrection past three days.

He watched for His key opportune times to reflect the Father’s Glory from Heaven.

He chose the key place to address the strongman of unbelief. Bethany was a gateway into Judea, a stronghold of religion and unbelief. Look for those key gateways in the regions of our nation.
======================================== JESUS WANTED TO TEACH, "IF YOU BELIEVE."

He revealed the progression of faith that was necessary to overcome. He kept working with Martha, Mary and His disciples to show them His character. He encouraged them to believe. “If you will believe…� He kept saying, “You will see the Glory of God.� Our faith level must be raised to a new dimension in the body of Christ to overcome what is ahead. Resurrection, life, and faith have a proportionate relationship necessary to understand if we are to overcome what is ahead in our future.

Hopelessness is turned to resurrection power. Martha and Mary had lost all hope of seeing their brother again. However, Jesus kept breaking the power of hopelessness and encouraging them in faith. We must be delivered from hope deferred now!
======================================= POWER PRODUCES RELATIONSHIP OR DIVISION
=======================================
Power produces Relationship or Division. This display of the power of God, caused individuals to choose to align politically and plot His death, or to shout Hosanna and usher Him in as King. The Body of Christ is about to be realigned over the power of God. Most Gospel accounts point to the cleansing of the Temple as being the key event leading to Crucifixion. However, this power to overcome death was the catalyst before the Cross.

The shout of “COME FORTH� created a Recovery. This is a season of recovery in the Body of Christ. Hear the Lord shouting over you to ‘come forth.’ This means to escape, breakout, bring forth, draw to an end, lead out, to depart from a condemned situation. COME FORTH! Let this shout of the Lord rise in your midst and declare a recovery of what you have lost in the past season.
================================================= 2001, A YEAR OF OVERCOMING FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST
================================================
This is a year of overcoming! This is a year of COMING FORTH! This is a year to allow the Glory of God to manifest and destroy unbelief! I see Jesus wept; however, He shouted with a loud voice and broke the power of death!

I am praying that a Shout of Resurrection in your midst overcome your weeping!
