Shortly after we entered 2010, the Lord gave me a vision during worship. It was a particularly sweet time with Him and I found myself pressing deeper for more of Him. Suddenly, the Lord gave me a vision and I was standing outside overlooking a city that was covered by a thick, dark greenish-gray cloud. It was extremely dark and eerie, and there was a sense of hopelessness that loomed over the city.

As I watched, the dense clouds began to move and were rolled back as an opening was made from above by the most brilliant, spectacular light. It pierced through the darkness and created a passageway from the heavens downward toward the city. The clouds continued to part until a great, gaping hole was made. The light that came down to earth was so brilliant that it hurt my eyes, but I simply could not break my gaze. As I watched to see what might emerge from the opening, a substance like that of gold began to be poured out over the land. It was filled with particles of light and life that were unlike anything I have ever encountered in the natural. For the longest time I watched as the massive spout continued to pour out this heavenly substance, and I began to question God as to what I was seeing.

The Father remained silent and I went back to worshipping Him, still questioning in my heart what it could all mean. After a time, the Lord gently spoke to me to hold out my hands. Knowing that He was about to place something in them, I cupped my hands together and extended them forward, creating a bowl for whatever might come forth. Once again I saw the amazing, golden substance, only this time it was poured out directly into my hands. I could see that it was made up of tiny, golden pearl-like grains, which filled my hands and spilled out onto a pile on the floor—as I simply could not contain all that was coming forth. I was momentarily distracted by what was spilling over, not wanting any to be lost or wasted.

The Lord, knowing what was in my heart, quickly responded to my distress and said, "Do not worry about what seems to be wasted or spilled, for I will give to you an unending supply that shall never run dry, for this is the sustenance of My Kingdom." For what seemed like several minutes, the "sustenance of God" continued in the same steady, abundant stream and did not cease, even though my hands could not contain it.

We Receive that We May Give

Since having this amazing encounter I have had such a hunger for more of the Father, and it has left me with such a lingering desire to worship Him that I just cannot seem to quench it. I simply must have more of Him, and I know that it is in this place of worship that the sustenance of Heaven is released. As we engage Him, He is opening up new realms of glory.

I love engaging with God and having Him reveal His heart to me, but He is reminding me not to get so wrapped up in what is taking place in those intimate times, when it is just the two of us, that I forget there is a purpose beyond my relationship with Him. We were created to worship and adore but also to give freely what has been given to us. When we receive vision, power, wealth, liberty and revelation, they are for the purpose of releasing it to others. Our purpose is to recapture what has been lost and wrecked by satan. As we worship Him we must also walk in His power and dominion.

Matthew 10:7, 8 And as you go, preach, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand," heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

And I love how in verse 9, Jesus tells them to "Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts," which further reiterates that He alone will sustain us.

I believe there is a difference between having authority and having dominion. Authority is the legal right to possess, command or influence, however it doesn't necessarily mean that the one who has the legal right is acting upon it. When one has dominion they are said to prevail or control a region or people; they dominate a specific area or sphere. Dominating puts someone in a place of superiority simply because they did what was necessary to obtain it. This is exactly how the enemy operates, taking dominion by force but having no authority to do so. We, as God's people, have been given the authority by the atoning Blood of Christ to take dominion and recapture what has been lost. We are learning to access the realms of God's Kingdom rather than relying on earthly means of provision. We can have access to what has always been available, and as we do, we must act upon what is released and take dominion!

2 Peter 1:3 says, "His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue." This is the sustenance of the Kingdom of Heaven which God makes available to those who pursue Him in righteousness.

What God was revealing to me through the vision was that He makes all things available to us. Sustenance is everything that is needed to sustain life. He provides the nourishment for both the spiritual and physical needs of mankind. We only experience lack when we stray too far from Him and begin to operate independently of that provision. Most of us in the Western Church have been trained to look to the world to provide for us and have a mentality that we can have whatever we desire or need merely by striving for it. However, the principles of God's Kingdom operate much differently. Because of His love for us, God sent Jesus to recapture our rights and the authority to rule over the earth. We accept this sacrifice by giving ourselves to Him through our love and adoration. Freely He has given, and freely we give by doing what He has commanded in Matthew 10:8: Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons!

Worship Opens Up the Heavens

Luke 12:31 Seek the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

Through our worship and by releasing what we receive in that place of adoration, the sustenance of God's Kingdom is being poured out in a measure that we cannot contain. All that He has will be released unto us and will come in such measure that it will spill over and out of our lives so that others can also taste of the goodness of our God! Yet, we cannot give to others what we ourselves have not learned to access. Without maintaining a lifestyle of worship, what we give out will be short-lived. It is not that God shuts up the Heavens over us but rather we stop going to the Source of all things. We cannot live as though the dose that we received last week or at the conference will forever sustain us. Never move away from the Source! Without a continual source we begin to pour out of our flesh, as spiritual wells eventually run dry. The sustenance of God's Kingdom is enduring; it's never-ending. This sustenance not only brings life but it maintains it! Seek His face and He in turn will release His glory.

Lord, create in Your people hearts that hunger and burn for more of You. Father, we ask that You teach us how to draw nearer to You, putting aside the cares of this world that distract and seek to rule our thoughts and minds. Touch hearts today, and open spiritual eyes to the reality of the unending supply of Your Kingdom, that through our worship and adoration the Heavens will be opened up over us and we in turn will release all that You make available to us. Truly, You are the Great I AM. In Jesus' name, amen.

The Door Is Open is a journey through the open door of Revelation 4:1, into the high and the deep; a cross-genre prophetic soaking and worship experience flowing through psalmist and worship leader Kathryn Marquis. With a voice like golden honey, and lyrics that resonate within the soul and spirit-man, the listener is transported to both the depths of the human condition and unseen realms of mystery and grace.

The album's flagship song, "Mystery," invites the worshiper to set aside soulish experience and rise up in the identity of Christ within, the hope of Glory. "Third Heaven Revelation" is Kathryn's unrehearsed, unedited retelling of a profound vision experience in worship, while the psalmist's "Soul Cry" is a true Davidic testimony of being rescued and restored. "Beautiful" was originally a spontaneous prophetic song, and was recorded in one take as the presence of Jesus invaded the vocal booth.

This debut recording from Kathryn Marquis is more than a CD; it is an experience of the Lord, saturated with His presence, His glory, and His heart.
