QUIT HIDING IN YOUR BAGGAGE,Also known as: "The Dunamis Dynamic" –2001 A Word through Teresa Neumann Teresa's email: neumann@proaxis.com "Dear Steve: I could hardly believe recent Elijah list posting on the nuclear explosion, by Greg Bachnik!!! I felt the Lord gave me a word and sent it to Pat Cocking on March 29, 2001. I am sending it as an attachment." That was posted at: http://elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=834 Teresa Neumann The dunamis power of God is more comparable to the energy produced by an atomic bomb (or a supernova star!) than a keg of dynamite. The detonation of an atomic device, (as well as the birth of a supernova star), requires that critical mass is achieved, that is, that the neutrons within the core can make up for the neutrons leaving the material through the outside surface. The subsequent "splitting of the atom" is a scenario in which critical mass produces a heat-activated chain reaction causing an atomic explosion. HOW CRITICAL MASS IS ACHIEVED--AND WHAT THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE POWER OF GOD... (Supernovas and Black-Holes are stars created by similar atomic "explosions" in which the core mass is displaced by surface mass, one explodes and one implodes.) Both examples illustrate the power unleashed through the achievement and/or displacement of critical mass. Equally illuminating is the fact that the "nucleus" of an atom is composed of protons and neutrons tightly bound together by very powerful nuclear forces. Atoms can either be split (fission) or combined (fusion) to create energy. Both methods can produce equally powerful explosions. . . however, fusion (atomic combining) does not create destructive radioactive fallout or waste. It is also more difficult to achieve. EXPLOSIVE CRITICAL MASS IN THE FIRST CENTURY CHURCH Though "critical mass" was attained in the first century Church and again in the 16th century (the Reformation), make no mistake about it.; the Church at the dawning of the 21st century has once more reached "critical mass." God's dunamis power will be fully activated when "Sent-Out-Ones" (evangelism outside the walls of the church) reaches a force equal to the power "within" the church. That is why the Great Commission instructed us to go to the ends of the earth with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to that end we have come. We have seen with our own eyes the completion (or near completion) of the Great Commission; the world has been reached with the gospel, now it must be saturated with the power of it. THE POWER . . . THE DUNAMIS THROUGH THE AGES Rivers symbolized power to the ancients (the age of pre-gunpowder), much the same way atomic energy symbolizes power to us today. Especially relevant is the understanding that various streams merge, or combine, to make raging powerful rivers. Again and again, in creation, the same dynamic occurs; two or more substances(sometimes opposites) merge to produce a combined energy more "violent" than the separate components individually. Hot air and cold air masses collide and produce powerful storms; land masses shift against each other and produce terrifying earthquakes; heat and water form hurricanes; water and sunshine produce light displays, males and females combine to reproduce, etc., etc. MERCY AND TRUTH Jesus walked in this spiritual dynamic. He embodied two major virtuous elements in absolute harmony with one another that, combined, unleashed a dunamis-power that was irresistible and unstoppable. They were: mercy and truth. "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." Psalm 85:10 They are like two streams that flow together into a mighty river like two atomic particles mysteriously bound together. Jesus walked perfectly in the narrow balance. He exercised extravagant mercy in the midst of uncompromising truth. A SPIRITUAL ANALOGY The spiritual counterpoint is best introduced with this current example: In the Academy nominated film, Chocolat, a French/Mayan woman opens a chocolate shop during the Lenten season, in a 1950's French village directly across the street from a Roman Catholic church. Deliberately thumbing her nose at the church, the free-spirited, struggling single mother does everything she can to tempt the fasting villagers with her delicacies. The film pits the tradition-bound, legalistic, self-righteous Christians (who refuse to enter her shop, let alone taste or buy any of her chocolates) against the lonely, searching, self-righteous pagan woman who wins customers by many acts of mercy. Predictably, the Christians fail in their "bigoted and mean-spirited" attempts at keeping their community "pure" and the new-age heroine succeeds in winning the town over to her philosophies. The Christians were "up-staged" by humanistic acts of mercy and their grace-less, man-inspired "truths" were compromised and rendered powerless. WOULD JESUS HAVE GONE INTO A PAGAN SHOP? Despite the obvious new-age agenda, this film prophetically poses the paradox: How is Jesus presented to the world? Would Jesus have gone into a pagan's shop? (yes). Would Jesus have tasted a chocolate during a Lenten fast? (yes). Would Jesus have tried to run a pagan out of town (no). Would Jesus have associated with a woman of questionable character? (yes). Would Jesus have compromised the truth of the woman's spiritual condition in extending mercy towards her? ) (No). A GLAD GOD RELEASES POWER "There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God." Psalm 46:5 I believe that the end-times church will need vast, supernatural reservoirs of grace and mercy to release the explosive new levels of power being poured into the church to defeat Satan's strategies. Not only mercy for sinners, but mercy for each other. Grace, grace, grace. Godly mercies unlike we have yet tapped into. At the same time, an ability to articulate, demonstrate and stand in the truth of God's Holiness with genuine humility will bind with mercy, (remember the atom?) as never before, to foster the ignition that creates an explosive chain of events in the lives of everyone who comes in contact with it. Legalism (religion) within the church will die. It must. Critical spirits, self-righteousness, disrespect, jealousy, malice, envy and strife. The children of religion must die within the Body of Christ. Where it survives, the Presence of the Lord will depart. A deep respect for each other, for prophets, teachers, pastors and leaders must increase. THE MARRIAGE OF BOTH The marriage of mercy and truth will combine the two streams into a river of gladness. It will trigger an atomic chain-reaction with signs and wonders following. It is the hallmark of the Spirit of Christ and makes God's Heart Glad. GREAT EXPECTATIONS God's expectations are great. He expects great things from us, but not beyond the giftings and abilities He has nurtured in us these last decades. He also wants us to expect Great Things from Him. God is eager to give us "signs," and expects us to ask for them. "Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz, 'Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.' But Ahaz said, 'I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test." Isaiah 7:10-12 Our faith MUST and WILL grow as we rise to His expectations (by growing and walking in mercy and truth). We must begin to ask for MORE. He wants us to ask for signs whether we stand in the valley or the mountaintop. It's not about us or where we're at. It's about Him. MIRACLES AND HEALINGS UNLEASHED "Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters and the land was radiant with his glory. The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen by the Kebar River and I fell face down. The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple then the man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east and then he led me back to the bank of the river. When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. He said, '(where) this water enters the sea it becomes fresh; so where the river flows everything will live and the fish will be of many kinds - like the fish of the Great Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for the healing of the nations." Ezekiel 47:1-12 SCRIPTURE'S CLASHING OF TWO FORCES This scripture reflects the dynamic of two forces clashing together the kingdom of God and the kingdom of man. The "water" is a river - a symbol of power coming from the throne room of God. The ocean a type of the world becomes fresh when this river flows into it; and of course, the fish represent the harvest we are about to see. The result is eternal fruit that provides healing for the nations. While theologians argue over the interpretation of prophetic scriptures, we know that as Jesus walked in this truth during His ministry on earth, so too we, as Spirit-filled Christians are promised this same power. It is significant that fruit grows on both sides of the river. Our mercies and our "judgments" (ministrations of truths) will bear fruit, since they will be nourished from the river the source of both. WHERE THEY BOTH KISS In other words, while we (the church) need to flow in the river where mercy and truth kiss - we needn't be anxious about "messing up" once in a while. The real warning for us, of course, is to never become stagnant, as God will "leave the swamps and marshes for salt." QUIT HIDING IN THE BAGGAGE In closing, I sense a gentle beckoning of the Lord to "come out from among the baggage." In I Samuel 10, Samuel had gathered all the tribes of Israel to present them before the Lord and present Samuel as king. "Finally Saul son of Kish was chosen. But when they looked for him, he was not to be found. So, they inquired of the Lord, "Has the man come here yet?" And the Lord said, "Yes, he has hidden himself among the baggage." The Hebrew word, "keliy," can be translated, weapons, armor, artillery, etc. Samuel had spoken forth the prophetic word for leadership just before Israel was attacked by the Ammonites. Saul's initial response was not to come forth but to hide himself among the weapons. So too, a specific prophetic word is being spoken to the church today in which dunamis power is going to be released in the midst of spiritual warfare. It is not the "baggage" (the implements of war; i.e., intercession, fasting, etc.) that will be our protection or our power in the battles ahead. . . it will be our open and vulnerable exposure to the Lord God. --Teresa Neumann
