From the desk of Steve Shultz:
This is a great word John Belt shares about the suddenlies and miracles Jesus brings in our life as we see Him and yield to Him. No matter what our circumstances, when Jesus gets into the boat, miracles happen.
John shares here, "There are many things that would attempt to distract us and keep us from the best that God has in store for us. There are many good things we can do, many options, but what really matters is our ability to hear His voice and follow His leading. We need to see Jesus and not allow the clutter of life to throw our vision away from Him. But rather, let it push us that much closer to Him."
Let's keep focused on HIM, even more so through these turbulent times that try to distract us from seeing Him!

John Belt:
"When Jesus Gets
In Your Boat"
And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing near to the ship: and they were afraid. But He said to them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received Him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land where they went.—John 6:18-21
There are winds that come in our lives that will cause some turbulence. Things can be nice, peaceful and restful; then there are times where things get stirred up causing challenges for us to overcome. These are the times where faith is required most and our trust in the Lord is tested. These are times that reveal whether or not we will stay and abide in that place of rest, peace and faith in God's ability to keep things. All things are in His hands.
Casting all your care on Him; for He cares for you.—I Peter 5:7
As we cast all of our cares upon Him, He is able to keep us in the most difficult of times. Our security is neither in this world nor the things of this world, but is firmly placed in His world where our lives are found.
EYES TO SEE JESUS
As all things break loose and there is movement, activity and maybe even seeming chaos all around, this is the time (above all times) that our eyes should be on the Lord. In the midst of the high waves and wind blowing the disciples were able to see Jesus. To see Jesus walking on the water would be a spectacle in itself and would easily draw our attention. But it is true that our eyes must stay fixed on Him no matter what is going on around us.
Looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.—Hebrews 12:2
There are many things that would attempt to distract us and keep us from the best that God has in store for us. There are many good things we can do, many options, but what really matters is our ability to hear His voice and follow His leading. We need to see Jesus and not allow the clutter of life to throw our vision away from Him. But rather, let it push us that much closer to Him.
YIELDED & RECEPTIVE
The disciples received Jesus into the boat. When we can see Jesus, we can receive Him into the boat of our lives. There is a place of continual yielding that allows the Holy Spirit to come and have His way. It is a good thing to just say, "I yield my heart to You, Holy Spirit. Please come and fill me fresh with Your heart and desires."
Allow the Lord to have that home in your heart. Our lives are composed of continual daily choices of yielding to God at every crossroad. There are small crossroads but they can be the most significant. Our lives are made up of many decisions that lead us to greater impact and overflow.
And He said to him, Well, you good servant: because you have been faithful in a very little, have you authority over ten cities.—Luke 19:17
He who is faithful in little will be faithful with much. We can never underestimate the power of the small choices that we make and how they can determine our course and shape our lives.
SUDDEN SHIFTS
"Then they willingly received Him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land where they went."—John 6:21
In our place of yielding, surrender and receptivity to the Lord there is a corresponding acceleration in our spiritual lives. His presence causes things to get done. The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow to it. This means that just by having the Lord integrated into the fiber of your life there is an exponential increase that will correspond.
As we say, "Yes Lord, I will follow You and take Your words, commands, desires and plans into my life. I will take action on what You have revealed to me and do all I know to do to see these things weaved into my heart in a living way," He will then take us to our destination. Our hearts just need to be committed to being dependent on the Lord to help us. Even Jesus walked as a man completely dependent on the Father to accomplish His will.
Then answered Jesus and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do: for what things soever He does, these also does the Son likewise.—John 5:19
It is His perfect power flowing through us that enables us to walk in a way that is pleasing to Him. When we do what we know to do out of a place of seeking His heart, He will do the rest. He suddenly can bring us up to speed in His divine calendar and get us moving in the direction that He's preordained for us.
We are living in a time of suddenlies! God is accelerating His work in our lives and bringing us into His perfect plan for us. He is ready to blow us away with His abundant display of goodness (John 10:10). He knows the end from the beginning, desiring to pour out His best for us as we get in alignment with His heart and plans.
For His Glory!
