I like this word and explanation of "Motion" by Kim Clement. Even in our waiting and stagnant times, things are moving, and GOD is moving.
Kim shares that "There is a time for everything: a time to advance, a time to wait, but whatever you do?don't be motionless. Even in waiting there must be motion?spiritual activity. You could miss the sign that God sends if you are spiritually stagnant. There will always be a sign to indicate what time it is."
Let's be sensitive to look for the signs that God is showing us in our lives?at all times.
Note: In Kim's article he mentions the word "Theophany" which is from the Greek, theophaneia (meaning appearance/showing of God) and refers to the appearance of a deity to a human or to a divine disclosure. Many prophets are speaking these days of more and more times when God will make appearance in various forms to mankind just as He did to many of the prophets, even in the Old Testament days.

"Invisible Motion:
Be Aware?Listen?Move!"
"And let it be, when you hear the sound of a going on in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you will stir yourself: for then the Lord shall go out before you?"?2 Samuel 5:24
This is a fascinating story of how God used "motion" to speak to David. "Going on" actually means "activity, motion." I strongly believe in spiritual motion. There are spirit beings around us, as proven by Scripture, accompanied by many, many personal testimonies. The spirit world is ACTIVE and many times that activity will affect the world we live in.
Motion means to prompt, actuate, or impel to some action.
The Kingdom of God is Within You
"Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would 'come,' He answered them and said, 'The Kingdom of God does NOT come with observation?for the Kingdom of God is within you.'"?Luke 17:20-21
Observation is an ACT of noticing or perceiving, regarding attentively.
The fact is that the Kingdom of God is within us and observation, no matter how noble or attentive it may be, is simply not enough to cause the Kingdom to come to you. Not only must you call for the Kingdom to come, according to the Lord's Prayer (Your Kingdom come), but then also once it has come to you, it has to enter you.
Jesus spoke to Nicodemus and taught him that in order to see the Kingdom he had to be born again. Once you "see" the Kingdom, you have to enter the Kingdom and possess it. So in actual fact, when you enter the Kingdom, it enters you. What Jesus was saying in Luke 17 was that observation will not activate the Kingdom of God, but rather activity or motion will activate it. Jesus said these words to a few that He met, "The Kingdom is near you."
In other words, it is present and drawing close to you because of your hunger and thirst for God. The word "Kingdom" means domain, dominion, a sphere of power or influence; the domain over which the spiritual sovereignty of God or Christ extends, whether in Heaven or on Earth. A realm is the domain including the subjects, over which the King has jurisdiction. So when the Kingdom is near you or close to you, it means that it is manifesting God's dominion to you. To observe that is simply not enough. Now that you have had a "theophany," the next step is to allow it to enter you and take over your life.
Motion is the Cause of All Life
There is a time for everything: a time to advance, a time to wait, but whatever you do?don't be motionless. Even in waiting there must be motion?spiritual activity. You could miss the sign that God sends if you are spiritually stagnant. There will always be a sign to indicate what time it is. David, in this instance, needed to know if he should move against his enemy, and God said something fascinating. "When you hear the sound of "activity/motion," then and then only can you advance. The suggestion here is that there was divine motion and therefore, a sign that David should advance.
There are signs of God's motion, which should in turn move us to action. The Spirit of God blows where He pleases and if we're sensitive to it, we will hear it. The trouble is that we hardly expect it because we're not watching out for it. It was a simple breeze that stirred the tops of the mulberry trees?nothing incredible or super spiritual?just a breeze. But that breeze was a sign for a forceful advance for King David.
I often feel invisible motion (as I've called it in the past) and when that happens I know that there is MOTION in the Spirit and it will manifest in my natural world. Invisible motion may stir the wind, a bird, your child, or loved one; I've even seen spiritual motion work on the electrical power (in my meetings), the radio waves and television, for instance. Sometimes the invisible motion causes humans to behave in a manner that is contrary to their character and nature.
Often on a calm day there will be a sudden and unexpected wind blow?completely uncharacteristic of the calmness?and at that point I will become extremely aware and ponder. I'm not saying that every breeze should be a sign, but you will know when something is out of the ordinary.
Motion is the cause of all life. Stop praying and you become motionless and stagnant.
An Alarming Experience
The other day, one of my team members was with Jane and me for lunch and pointed towards a car that she was hoping to purchase soon. She loved the color and the style of the vehicle. After lunch, I had to leave early to get to an appointment and I decided to walk over to the car and take a look at it. I was about seven feet from the car when it suddenly started blowing its horn and the alarm went off and was going crazy.
This continued for at least two minutes. It was in a parking lot and it began doing this for no rhyme or reason and the owner was nowhere near. I had not touched the car and I was a safe distance from it. Eventually it stopped and as I was walking away ANOTHER vehicle in another spot began doing the same thing. The alarm was repeatedly going off as if someone had broken into the vehicle.
Curiosity overcame me, so I went to look at this strange happening. It was a different model but the SAME make and the SAME color as the one I was first looking at but in another section of the parking lot! So you may think that this is just silly and stupid. Not me, especially after 32 years of this kind of activity surrounding me and oftentimes, guiding me. The message may have been, "Stay away from this car?don't buy it." I'm not sure yet. It may be a vehicle that would cause an accident for my staff member.
The point is that I don't ignore MOTION and I want you to be aware of its existence and power so that you don't ignore or miss it either.
Invisible Motion of the Spirit
As we all know, the elements on Earth are different from those in the Heavens. Where we live we have earth, air, water and fire. The particle of matter in the Heavens (Spirit) is weightless and incorruptible. However, we as spirit beings?made alive?have the strange ability to not only see the incorruptible but to cause it to mingle with the corruptible (or the earth elements), thereby causing havoc around us.
In the Upper Room, the invisible motion of the Spirit descending upon them was accompanied by the "sound of a mighty rushing wind" and tongues of fire that rested on their heads, causing them to speak in another language. This invisible motion was an incorruptible force that mingled with a corruptible being, thereby causing an "out of the ordinary" display of divine articulation. There are times in your life where a theophany will take place and where you have the opportunity to become one with the divine.
The idea that God is God and man is man, and that the two may meet but never merge, and that there is a fellowship but never a fusion is untrue and contrary to the Holy Scriptures. A theophany is a visible manifestation of God to human beings. Pretty darn neat and enough to make us realize that we are, as Peter says, a peculiar and special people.
