A Call for Prayer for the New Administration

I was privileged to attend the Inauguration of our 43rd President George W. Bush in Washington DC and some of the events surrounding it. Let me share a brief perspective and some prayer requests concerning this new administration.

I have made several trips to pray in Washington DC over the past years. The spiritual atmosphere was definitely much "better, brighter and lighter" than any time I have previously experienced. Why is this? How long will this last?

1) It appears a "window of Mercy" has been opened for a season. The prayer of God's people has been used to help create this window being ajar ­ but in a vision ­ I saw that our intense intercession ­ could be used like a rod to hold open the window longer. So let's hold this window of mercy open through our prayers!

2) In President George W. Bush's swearing in, he used his wife's personal Bible to lay his hand upon for his oath of office. He did not use the traditional old Bible that most all Presidents have used. This traditional Bible has been used in Masonic rituals. This was a great blessing that Bush used their own personal Bible. This provides a break with the witchcraft ties into the nation and opens a door for "personal devotion" and integrity.

3) We must intercede for the appointments and nominations for the various positions of this administration. The first 100 days are perhaps the most critical. Ask the Lord for insight, discernment and revelation of God's will to be granted for all the Presidential Cabinet, Senate, House of Representatives and all Justice appointments at this time.

4) Pray for John Ashcroft, the former Governor and Senator of Missouri. Having lived for 44 years in the past in MO, I can tell you that this man is full of integrity, wisdom and is a shining light of godliness in a day of political and moral decay. Pray for strength for him and his family. Ask the Lord's selection to come forth as the next Attorney General of the United States. (This one has already happened, but he continues to need our prayers)

5) Realize the battle between the Jezebel Spirit and the Spirit of Elijah is only heating up. It is going to become more confrontational and intense in the days to come! Ask the Lord to raise up a new generation of righteous Jehu's that will be used to overthrow this ungodly manipulative and sensual spirit in this land. Realize that there is a grace right now for "Governmental Intercession". Ask for it. Exercise that grace before the throne of Almighty God!

6) Remember, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood ­ but against the powers of darkness. You must bless all men ­ but fight the good fight of faith against the evil powers of darkness. Some believers even need to get washed clean of frustration, indignation and even "prideful gloating" before they will be able to ascend the hill of the Lord and stand cleanly before Him for this next assignment.

7) Pray that this nation will take a righteous and compassionate stand concerning the policy issues in the Middle East and particularly concerning Israel. Call forth "counselors of prophetic understanding" to emerge in this hour. Call for a revival to occur amongst the Jews, Arabs and all displaced peoples. Pray that Jerusalem will not be legally divided up into different hands.

8) While in DC, I kept hearing the word ­ ADVANCE! It is time to go on a Prayer Offensive and ADVANCE. It is not time to sit back and applaud ourselves and rest. It is time to march forward on our knees. Therefore, I call for a special time of prayer and intercession for the first 100 Days of this new Administration that this window of mercy may remain open even longer! Will you join with me?
