A WORD AND VISION FOR SOUTH CAROLINA

November 2000

A word through Kathie Walters Good News Ministries Kathie's Email: kathiewalters@mindspring.com

Someone E-mailed me and reminded me about a vision I had earlier last year. The vision was of a silver stream that ran up through South Carolina, through North Carolina and into Virginia. It was not a great wide stream, but a specific move of some kind. I felt it had something to do with healing.

THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHURCH

The E-mail caused me to think again about South Carolina, and I put aside some time to pray. As I did I had a vision of a young woman (the South Carolina church). She was lovely, but she was up to her waist in a mire. I saw her struggling to get out, but as you know when you do that you get more bogged down. As I prayed I got the scripture,

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord Who made heaven and earth. He will not suffer your foot to be moved, He that keeps you will not slumber.... The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade upon your right hand....The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever." (Psalm 121)

As I prayed the scripture, I saw the young women look up and reach up her hands. Then I saw a helicopter, like an air/sea/rescue chopper, swing in and come above her.

THE KEY TO DELIVERANCE

The key to any deliverance is to get our eyes on Jesus. He is the one who is able. He is the Divine Rescuer. He is the one who:

"Brought me out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings." (Psalms 40:2)

"Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." (Heb. 12:2)

QUALIFIED 100%

I don't understand all of what the mire represents but I did feel a lot of it was the religious spirit causing people to strive. There is a strong religious spirit in many places in South Carolina. This spirit makes God's people feel they have to "qualify." Did you know that Jesus "qualified" us 100%?

When you feel you have to qualify, you look inward, you tend to try, and struggle to change yourself. Boy then you really feel condemned! We will never change ourselves with all the trying in the world. Trying can be very trying! When you get your eyes and attention on the problem, it gets worse. It gets a stronger hold on you. A pastor friend of mine once said, "What gets your attention gets you." Put your eyes on Jesus, yielding to the Holy Spirit.

"But we all with open face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor. 3:18)

OPEN YOUR DOORS!

I believe that the young woman (the South Carolina church), looking up, stopped striving and trying to change things herself, and she began to look to God for the things she was needing and crying out for. The helicopter represents God's answer - His operation, His spirit, His angels, His ministers to come. God delights to answer, He delights to respond if we simply believe. It's funny how that old religious flesh will do anything, except simply believe. It will cry, plead, beg, pray more, learn more scripture, go to more meetings (nothing wrong with those in themselves), sing longer, pray harder etc. The religious flesh doesn't want to admit it has nothing to offer - except surrender!

So now it is time for South Carolina - open your doors! Look upwards, not inwards. Believe. God is moving toward South Carolina!
