A TIME FOR SILENCE--A HOLY HUSH

-- TO PROPHESY--OR NOT TO PROPHESY--- THAT'S THE QUESTION ------FROM STEVE SHULTZ, THE ELIJAH LIST--
One good thing to learn in studying the prophetic movement is that sometimes, God can take some prophets and ask them to take a time to be silent during a given season, while at the same time, the SAME GOD asks other prophetic voices to speak out. In other words, God is always speaking and the significant questions are: 1) What is He saying NOW? Who is He saying it to? And are those people being asked by the Lord to RELEASE what He is telling them? With that in mind, please read this Word from John Moore. He is one of those significant prophetic voices that God is saying, "Let's have a time of silence," --in so many words. Understanding that God says different things to different prophets AT THE SAME TIME-- is pivotal to correct understanding ONE of the many WAYS of God. For instance, surely ELISHA was getting revelation while he was under or in relationship with ELIJAH, but he apparently held back until God released HIM to prophesy. That's just one example. FOR MANY PROPHETIC VOICES --- "A TIME FOR SILENCE--A HOLY HUSH" -- A Word through John Moore John's email: jlmoore@mcn.net Friday, December 08, 2000 This is one person's report on what he has sensed this year and is sensing now. The Lord gives me a "theme word" about every six months. At the beginning of this year the word was "sweetness". Not any sweetness -- and certainly not saccharine -- but a sweetness produced from brokenness. Like marrow sucked from crushed bones. The word for the second half of the year was "Battlefield Commission". A commissioning for the non-commissioned who has proven himself under fire. I wanted my promotion with a parade, not more combat. But promotion does not mean the war has ended. It is more suggestive of the war heating up!
REFINING AMONG PROPHETIC INTERCESSORS
In mid-August the Lord told me he was going to do a major refining in his prophetic intercessors and was especially targeting spirits of exclusivity. I love prophetic intercessors (and count myself as one) and it has been painful to see this refining take place. Many intercessors have been shaken to their core. In mid-September I entered a prolonged spiritual test from which I have not fully emerged. Wave after wave of carnality came upon me. First, fear. Then anger, lust, doubt. This intense purging lasted for over 2 1/2 months before it recently began to modify. I believe the purpose of this test is to completely overwhelm me with the wickedness of my own heart and break any desire to trespass in His glory. I wanted to climb the mountain, instead I tumbled down and crashed in base camp. Here I have learned to simply love the basics. Love my first love. Be content with salvation. Know little except Jesus Christ crucified, resurrected, ascended, and seated at the right hand of the Father constantly making intercession for me. Because I need it! Through this long crucible experience I have only scanned prophetic words, listened to few tapes, and read almost no books.
YET HE IS STILL SPEAKING
For the most part, the heavens have been brass. That which used to work hasn't. Yes, He's still speaking to prophetic youngsters and posted watchmen. But, for me the atmosphere has held a pregnant pause. There is more going on than what we I can see. The situation in Florida has enormous ramifications. This is a shadow of God's government coming to the church and the old "control" system is trying to stop it by any means possible. The heavenly courts are bogged with accusers of the brethren and their profane pontificating, but it is a time to be quiet and pray. Having done all, stand.
A HOLY HUSH
It may not be popular to suggest that prophetic people be quiet, but, I believe a "Holy Hush" has descended from the throne and we must quiet ourselves and listen very closely. He is still talking. But perhaps He has lowered His voice. What I am sensing may not be for everyone. Prophetic youngsters should continue to practice. Those called to the watchman's wall must maintain their post and report what they see. But for many of us it is time for silence. ---A very alert silence.
