"Elections 2008 Conclusion"
1 Timothy 2:1-4, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Thank the Lord for the freedoms we enjoy in America to choose our leadership every four years. It is now time to start praying for our new national leaders, President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden. Pray that God will give them guidance and wisdom to protect our freedom and to lead this nation through the many challenges facing America, especially the economic crisis.
May America continue to be a strong friend of Israel. Pray for the new administration's protection and also for their families. Give thanks for President Bush whose leadership has kept us free of terrorist attacks since 9/11. Also cover in prayer the newly-elected Congress, that they will truly represent the people and not special interests.
Conclusion of 40 Days of Prayer
Dear Watchmen Intercessors,
Bonnie and I want to thank you for standing in the gap with us as we fasted and prayed for America and the 2008 elections. Literally thousands of you joined us on the wall of prayer for "40 Days 4 America." We consider it a privilege to co-labor with each of you for the Kingdom!
Now that the elections are decided, many of you are already asking us for the next prayer directive. Please read our response below with the prayer points the Lord is giving us for the nation. We want to encourage each of you that your prayers are changing history. We were obedient to the directive of the Lord to fast and pray, and He is watching over the destiny of this nation.
From the middle of the fast through today, I have sensed the Lord speaking that we are in a season of joy and thanksgiving. This is the attitude that we are responding to the current events. This is the attitude of our prayer. God is on His throne!
Many are Asking, "What is Your Perspective?"
The mighty men who followed David rallied to him at Ziklag. It became David's stronghold. Later it was the very city the Amalekites attacked and plundered. Listen to what David did in response in 1 Samuel 30:
David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it, and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way. When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord, his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod." Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?"
"Pursue them," He answered. "You will certainly overtake them and recover all."
David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind, for two hundred men were too exhausted to cross the ravine. But David and four hundred men continued the pursuit. He led David down, where the Amalekites and they were scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.
David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled. David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, "This is David's plunder" (1 Samuel 30).
In what is initially a great set back - David takes stock of his situation. He seeks the Lord for a living word, receives it and obeys.
Pursue - Overtake - Recover All!
Bonnie grew up with a father who was a poker-playing cowboy. In the months before the election, Bonnie had a dream wherein the Church in America grabbed a deck of playing cards from God's hand and dealt the Lord a hand in a poker game. God ended up with a single pair of aces in His hand. Bonnie looked around the table knowing the other players quite likely held cards that would beat God's hand.
Standing behind the Lord she said, "But, You are God...You can make Your hand win, right?" The Lord simply said, "I'll play the hand I've been dealt." When the flop came (the part where everyone lays their cards on the table) the words "dead draw" came to her. A dead draw means the newly added card. In the dream it was an ace to pair with the first one, which doesn't create the winning hand in that round.
The scene changed and Bonnie was driving into a new neighborhood of large residential homes on big manicured lots. She had never been here before. Abruptly she came to a "dead end" and found herself in a cul-de-sac. She asked, "How do I get out of here?" She heard, "You will go out the way you came in...with joy and assurance of victory." She heard, "Make a U-turn." As she turned around there was a sign with an arrow pointing toward "Mission Accomplished" and she went in that direction.
The strategy David used is a fail proof strategy:
• See what's missing
• Strengthen yourself in the Lord
• Seek God and His word
• Rise up
• Pursue the enemy
• Overtake
• Recover all
During the days leading up to our election, there was one thing the Lord clearly told us all to do: FAST and PRAY. That is exactly what we did. The victory is in the Lord's hands - in fact the battle itself belongs to Him. His Word says "all things work together for good to him who loves the Lord and is called according to His purpose."
We are that company. The Cross is the victory that overcomes the world. The triumph over this world, death, sin and the grave is the authority and confidence we walk in each day. That victory, the final one, has been won already. That is our team!
Do we believe God has a mighty purpose in all that pertains to our lives? Yes, we do.
Do we want to see godly people leading our government? Yes, we do.
Do we want to see the horror of abortion ended? Yes, we do.
Do we want the blessing of God on our nation? Yes, we do.
Do we want a healthy economy? Yes, we do.
Do we want security and blessing for our children? Yes, we do.
Do we want America to remain a loyal support to Israel? Yes, we do.
Do we want to see revival in the Church in our land? Yes, we do.
So how do we get there?
Create a turn around. Stay full of His Spirit. Seek God and His word at all times. Remain full of faith and walk in humility before Him and others. Practice repentance as a lifestyle. Make the proclamation of the Gospel with signs and miracles our daily mission.
What most pleases God is to have an obedient people in communion with Him. Such people are you. He's happy! You be happy, too!
God is Moving!
We are seeing amazing and powerful signs that He is up to something mighty in this land for our sake and the sake of our children. He has called us to participate. Something very deep and important has touched the identity of every American in this election perhaps more than any other event in our national history.
Historically, we are positioned for a great and legitimate move of God's Spirit. We are pursuing that. Do not expect instant answers in the way you may have presumed. There were some major victories accomplished in these last few weeks. There are more ahead. Expect answers to the prayers you have prayed!
For the entire month of November, we have positioned ourselves to be exuberantly joyful in God. There are no people on earth more blessed with life and promise than Christians. There are no people on earth more blessed with peace and individual freedom than Americans. There are no people on earth with the unique blessed and godly foundation and history America has.
As American Christians, we have a triple reason for thanksgiving and joy at all times. Our greatest opportunity is now. Our best days are ahead. Strengthen yourself in the Lord. Smile and reach out to someone.
Pray - Ask - Continue:
1. Thank the Lord for His goodness to us.
2. Pray for continued security for America, for Israel, the Supreme Court,
for grace and refreshing on the retiring administration, and for President-elect Obama and Vice-President-elect Biden.
3. Ask for deliverance for our national economy, for deliverance from all our enemies, and for revival in the Church in this nation.
4. Continue to sow and serve.

Be joyful in our salvation.

Do we believe God can do it? YES, WE DO!
