PRAYER FOCUS FROM JERUSALEM 11-22-2000

Reuven Doron & Francis Frangipane
Nov 24, 2000

GUESS WHICH FOUR FLORIDA COUNTIES TURNED A THOUSAND 1939 JEWISH REFUGEES BACK TO PERISH IN THE CAMPS?

-- WEST PALM BEACH, BROWARD, FORT LAUDERDALE, AND DADE COUNTIES!!

NOTE FROM THE KEYBOARD OF STEVE SHULTZ

Both Francis Frangipane and Reuven Doron have highly respected ministries. When they talk, I really listen. If Reuven has researched these counties to discover this information about these four counties, I would highly regard that research. It appears the church has some immediate repentance to do to and on behalf of the Jewish people. Are we now paying the price for our sin of turning back 1000 Jewish refugees to their death in the concentration camps of Nazi Europe?

CALLING ALL INTERCESSORS!!

RIVER OF LIFE WEEKLY SUMMARY November 24, 2000 Pastor Francis Frangipane eMAIL: RiverofLifeMailer@InChristsImage.org

Please keep praying for the election here in the states. If this were not the most important election in recent history, there would not be such activity concerning it. Also, the situation in Israel continues in dire need of divine intervention. Thus, instead of a regular message I felt the Lord wanted me to send the following. It is from my dearest friend Reuven Doron in Israel.

Although we still need help, I also wanted to personally thank those who have contributed toward this ministry. Your prayers, comments and contributions touched my heart. You are held in high esteem in God's heart and mine.

NOTE FROM REUVEN DORON:

The Embrace Israel Prayer Focus From Jerusalem is prepared regularly by Pastor Reuven Doron, director of Embrace Israel Ministries. This is provided free of charge to a select group of intercessors around the world.

"On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." [Isaiah 62:6-7 NAS]

"LORD, DO NOT HOLD THIS SIN AGAINST THEM!"

"And falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, 'Lord, do not hold this sin against them!' And having said this, he fell asleep." (Acts 7:60 NASB)

The appearance of the first Messianic martyr on the stage of history, Stephen, is an eternal model for all who would follow this path as to what attitude we are to keep toward our enemies. Israel is like a wounded animal these days, writhing in pain as its civilian population absorbs relentless and bloody terror attacks, its borders are tensing up with war drums beating again across the Middle East, and growing isolation in the increasingly hostile international arena.

WE MUST FORGIVE OUR ENEMIES

We have entered the prelude to Zechariah chapter twelve, if not actually crossed the threshold into its apocalyptic grip, with many of its profound predictions seemingly ready to take place in our days. However, for us who know the living God and who are enlightened to understand His purpose for Israel, there is no other attitude permissible toward our enemies but to hold them forgiven before God. Forgiven indeed, as they do not know what they are doing or by what spirit they are moved, but subdued and contained, by force if necessary, from accomplishing their evil plans.

As intercessors, we must keep our vision high, and our hearts well connected to the heavenly purpose as revealed in the word regarding the restoration of Israel and the redeeming of the entire earth. Watch and pray with us.

FROM GROUND ZERO

Many thanks for the earnest prayers and intercessions for our family, ministry, and troubled region. Having returned recently to Jerusalem from Switzerland, England, and Canada, we were hoping to enjoy a semi-normal family schedule for a couple of weeks before my departure to the US for ministry. The family will be joining me shortly after as we plan to spend Christmas with our American relatives.

However, as you no doubt notice on the news, the Middle East crisis continues to escalate with a substantial upsurge of violence over the past few days, topped by the bombing of an Israeli school bus loaded with children. Two Israelis were killed and nine wounded, five of them children, in the worst terror attack yet in the nearly two-month old Palestinian uprising. Three of the children are still in serious condition with one of the dead adults a female schoolteacher.

TO THE MOURNERS AND THE WOUNDED, IT'S ALL THE SAME

An Islamic group calling itself "the martyrs of Al Aksa" said that it carried out the severe terror assault, while other groups in Beirut and Damascus claim they were behind the blast. To the mourners and the wounded, it's all the same.

Consequently our mood, as you can imagine, is far from calm. The south Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo continues to come under Palestinian fire daily, with the most recent attack taking place, for the first time, during school hours with Israeli kids having to be rushed into bomb shelters.

At this writing, breaking news in Israel is reporting that a car bomb just exploded in the lower Galilean town of Hadera with two dead and more than forty injured Israelis. This car bomb exploded next to a loaded bus during rush hour on a crowded street. It was most probably a remote detonation, carefully aimed and timed for maximum damage.

GOLIATH TAUNTING LITTLE DAVID

There is not much that can be done to avert such terror operations, as entry into Israeli territory cannot be hermetically sealed, and the only solution is to take the battle into the enemy's terrain. Our government, however, is not yet ready to take such extreme measures, especially in light of the intensifying international pressure on Israel, portraying it as an aggressor Goliath taunting little David.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces are on high alert along the northern borders with Lebanon and Syria as Islamic Hizballa militia forces continue to attack army patrols and detonate bombs along the border. The blasts were filmed and later televised on Hizballa television in Lebanon, hailing it as "another victory" in the Islamic holy war against the "Zionist enemy."

WARNING OF POSSIBLE ISRAEL-SYRIA ARMED CLASH

Israeli military brass warns that this escalation of violence on the northern borders could lead to a direct Israel-Syria armed clash. PM Ehud Barak has repeatedly warned that he would hold Syria responsible for any further Hizballa attacks, since Damascus feeds weapons to the militia and allows it free reign in the south of Lebanon. Iran, too, has been stepping up its arms shipments to the Hizballa, supplying it with rockets that can strike Israeli civilian centers like Haifa and Tiberius.

Consequently, many in Israel today call for the total cessation of the "policy of restraint" which has characterized Prime Minister Barak's position so far. His opposition party leaders, however, call for the unleashing of the Israeli army to deal with the continuing Palestinian violence with decisive force. They charge that Yasser Arafat is trying to appear "moderate" to international audiences, while locally ordering more armed attacks on civilian Israeli targets by his security forces.

ISRAELI RESERVE UNITS ARE BEING CALLED UP

As the overall situation continues to deteriorate, the Israeli armed forces chief, Shaul Mofaz, confirmed that Israeli reserve units are being called up for military service to relieve weary regular units serving in the disputed territories. This reserve call-up may also be related to the tense situation along the Israeli borders, and the threats emanating from Iraq and Iran.

Calling up the reserve forces is not an easy decision for the state of Israel due to the economic and commercial pressures it creates as tens of thousands of Israeli professionals and businessmen trade their suits, work uniforms, brief-cases and tools for combat fatigues and weapons. Watch and pray, as the situation is highly explosive.

A PROPHETIC WITNESS

Often, while the intercessor is in deep prayer, the Spirit speaks back and deposits revelation into their hearts regarding the matter they labor over. These revelatory "nuggets" may be for the purpose of guiding the prayer into more accurate and excellent intercession, "prophetic intercession" as many call it, or it may be for the purpose of instruction, comfort, and encouragement for those prayed for.

Some of our intercessors submit such "nuggets" every so often, and some of these are so anointed and timely that we hear the voice of the Lord speaking to us through them. Here is one for your consideration:

AN INTERCESSORS PROPHETIC "NUGGET"

"Dear Reuven.

As I read your e-mail message today, heaviness settled over me until I got away and prayed through. Here is what I received:

The rise and the fall of many are at hand. The days are perilous. All are being weighed in the balance. Should one move or be still? should one speak or be silent? should one pray or not, fight or not? where to draw the lines? questions, questions...

STAND STILL AND WATCH

But the Lord God would say: "Stand still and see my Salvation. For my plans and purposes will be accomplished. Israel shall see and know that her Messiah comes for her. In the day of calamity, she shall look up. Her eyes will be opened; the scales will fall off, for her time is come. Her days have been accomplished and her time is fulfilled.

Pray for her, my people. For those that love her, love me. Yet shall I visit her afresh. Yet will I restore her. Yet will all my promises be kept for her. So great has been her rejection, but greater is her reception.

"I WILL SUDDENLY COME AND RESCUE HER"

All nations shall come and beg for the forgiveness of my people, Israel, and of their God... I will suddenly come and rescue her. Her adversary will be no more as she sees Me, the Messiah, her Lord.

Pray without ceasing, for her redemption draws nigh. Yet in all this I am revealing those who love her and those who hate her. All enemies are unmasked. I will bless them that bless Israel, my people. The time of her delivery is at hand. Hold steady to the course. Veer not, straight ahead. Salvation is nigh. So suddenly will this happen, things will change overnight and all will be amazed. From labor pains to delivery, suddenly, my truth shall be revealed." End quote. Watch and pray.

MEDIA DISTORTION

The world media has always had an unwritten policy to malign the Jewish State as it never quite fitted into the global humanistic dream of our modern day visionaries. Israel was, and forever shall be, a thorn in the side of a run-away world; a nagging reminder that there is a sovereign God who runs the affairs of man and of nations, before whom we shall all give an account some day. Today, a constant barrage of misinformation is gaining acceptance and credibility with millions of naive viewers and listeners who are receiving it as accurate and reliable "gospel truth."

Our case in point is that world media services often report on the conflict in Israel by referring to Arabs who are killed while rioting as "Palestinian demonstrators shot dead by Israeli armed troops." They then drum up the grim statistics, showing how disproportionate the numbers of Israeli casualties are as compared to Arab casualties.

ISRAEL, A BRUTAL OPPRESSOR?

The implication, of course, is that Israel is a brutal oppressor, which puts down democratic expression of dissent by shooting protestors. It would be very understandable then, that in reaction to this brutality, the Arabs will shoot back. In fact, seeing the statistics only, it appears as though the Arabs are only defending themselves and standing up bravely against Israeli oppression.

The entire picture is a sophisticated lie for the ignorant masses. How is it that rock-throwers are depicted as heroes, while civilians going about their daily lives, are subjected to being pelted with rocks, firebombs, and bullets from Palestinian sources, are depicted as oppressive "settlers" who are causing the problem simply by living in territories desired by the Arabs?

MURDERED, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE JEWISH

Israelis, who are murdered in cold blood just because they are Jewish, are hardly given the sympathy which is reserved for those who are killed trying to murder or maim them. Justice is never measured by how many people are killed in conflict. It is measured by the circumstances, which caused the deaths. It is our distorted morality, which equates the evil intent of those who come to murder and destroy Jewish life, with those who seek to defend it. Why would any nation tolerate insurrection, seeing a foreign element stoning, shooting and bombing her civilians?

THE MEDIA MAKES A MASSACRE SOUND COOL

Most media services, when reporting of the children's school bus which was ambushed and blown up two days ago in the Gaza strip, never bothered to indicate to the international viewers that this was a cold blooded and carefully executed terror attack specifically aimed at Israeli children. The wording often was: "A bus of Israeli settlers sustained severe damages during a recent clash in the Gaza strip. Two dead, nine wounded." Sounds cool.

The incident, however, involved a sophisticated and powerful device put together by professionally trained terrorists with access to military equipment and supplies. It was planted on the bus rout leading from the children's village to their school, and detonated by remote control in perfect timing with the bus' position and speed in order to cause maximum damage.

FIVE CHILDREN CASUALTIES, THREE OF WHOM HAVE LOST ARMS AND LEGS

The media did not tell the world that of the nine casualties, five are children, three of whom have lost legs and arms in the blast, the rest are schoolteachers and parents. The village from which the bus came, incidentally, is not a lawless or fanatical Jewish settlement in the middle of Arab territory. Kfar Darom, rather, is a fine community, which was planted by government decree (Rabin and Peres' government) on lands which were legally purchased for full price by the Jewish agency in 1948, and which were liberated from Arab occupation during the 1967 Six Day war. A slightly different slant on the facts, isn't it?

RELIABLE SOURCES

And so, pray as you watch, dear friends, and inform your own community that more reliable and less biased news reports are available to those who love the truth. A CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM

The following was written by our middle daughter after a long conversation yesterday regarding these troubling events. Pray as you read, please,-- since the battle is intense over the children's hearts.

My Daughter's writing:

"Today the lives of two grown ups were taken, and five children have been sent to the rest of their lives with plastic arms and legs because their school bus was bombed in the Gaza strip. Why did this happen? I don't know, but what I do know is that the children had nothing to do with what has been going on between Israel and the Arabs. All they wanted was to go to school, enjoy their sports classes, and be able to write down their homework with their own fingers.

But now, they will never be able to do this again. They have been deprived of one of the most important things in life: to be able to run and play, to feel the sand between your toes as you walk on the beach, to win, let alone run in a race, to see your friends playing soccer and know that you can too, to hold hands with your mother or father and feel their hand holding yours. And while we are on the subject of fathers and mothers, two parents were killed in the attack as well. Forever gone from their children.

These kids will most likely live the rest of their lives with pain in their hearts regarding the Arabs. A knowledge which will haunt them for the rest of their lives that their parents were murdered by Arabs. And for what crime? The thought of what they are going through right now is practically unbearable to me.

It turns out that there are two sides to what the news show about the "pure Arabs" and the "barbaric Israelis." All Israel is asking for is peace; no other word has the same meaning for us. Yet, sadly, the one thing that Israel wants will never be given her without sorrow first. And even then, what kind of peace is the peace you have to fight for every few years? A peace that lasts only till the next war, while more of our family's members have to send their sons to the army to fight.

Even though I'm still a child I know what is going on in the world. So many people look down on children, but the innocence in a 4 year old is something wise people should want. Being able to admit that you are wrong without feeling your pride rising is a lot easier than waiting years until you are on your death bed and then admit that you were wrong.

A child can be a great role model for many people, but forgiving is no harder to a 45 year old than it is to an 11 year old. To me some of the most wonderful sentences are: I forgive you; I still love you, go in peace in your heart. If people could live like that, what happened today would never happen. What we need is God; a miracle of peace, love, and forgiveness. That is what we should be praying for right now."

A FORTY-DAY FAST CALLED STARTING NOVEMBER 23, 2000

In light of the current situation in the land, Israeli Messianic leaders are calling for a forty-day fast from the 23rd of November 2000, to the 2nd of January 2001, covering the month of Ramadan and Hanukkah. We believe God for His protection and Salvation to be manifest in the midst of the shakings in the land.

The time period over Ramadan (the thirty day Muslim fast) which is from the 28th of November 2000 to the 28th of December 2000 is always a very tense time in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. With the already extremely difficult situation, this year could be catastrophic unless God intervenes. Indonesian believers who serve in a radical Islamic environment, fast and pray for forty days beginning five days before Ramadan, and ending five days after its end. They have seen tremendous breakthroughs as a result.

PRAY FOR JEWISH AND ARAB BELIEVERS ALIKE

Pray and fast for Jewish and Arab believers to worship, serve, and witness together the redemptive purposes of God for both Arab and Jew as One New Man, being a blessing in the midst of the earth. That in the midst of the darkness they will arise and shine; that His light may come, and that the Glory of the Lord will rise upon us all and multitudes of Jews and Arabs will begin to stream into the Kingdom of God.

We are asking you to join us in a Daniel Fast, or fast on water or liquid and heightened prayer during the whole forty day fast (or as much as the Lord gives you grace). That in the midst of the current shakings, Jerusalem's Salvation will be released as fully as possible as a blazing torch leading us into the 21st Century.

GOOD NEWS FROM GAZA

A report from our friend in Gaza who heads the compassion ministry for Palestinian children. As you read, remember these dear servants in your prayers, and consider giving toward this profound ministry. Thank you.

DELIVERING A PRECIOUS PALESTINIAN GIRL

"It took seven hours today to get through blocked roads and closed checkpoints in the Gaza Strip, but a team of us safely delivered a precious ten-month-old Palestinian girl to the hands of Israeli doctors for life-giving heart treatment. Little Ola, a Down syndrome baby, will undergo catheterization tomorrow to block a ductus leading from her heart which should have closed on its own at birth.

God's kingdom isn't shaken by the continuing violence. He is still enabling His people in the land to love their neighbors, and even their enemies. Sunday night two more little ones, eight-month-old Walid and one-year-old Ahlam, had joyful reunions with their families following successful heart surgeries. Next week, God willing, three more children are scheduled to go to Israel for surgery.

REGULAR GUNFIRE ALONG THE EGYPTIAN BORDER

After hearing several weeks ago that other foreigners were evacuated, my family and I wondered whether we should stay in Gaza to continue organizing these surgeries. There is regular gunfire along the Egyptian border, and our home has been struck at least once. Anti-American sentiment has been stoked, and rumors swept through the public school where our daughter is completing the twelfth grade. The roads are often unsafe, and our family's own nighttime confrontation with a tank ended with us in retreat under gunfire. "Fear on every side...but the LORD is with me..." (Jeremiah 20:10-11).

Whatever these days bring, let us thank God together for every life saved, and for the reconciliation with God and man offered to us through Jesus.

Jonathan Miles Coordinator Light to the Nations" End quote.

FOUR FLORIDA COUNTIES ALLOWED JEWISH REFUGEES TO GO BACK TO THE CAMPS

--WEST PALM BEACH COUNTY ---BROWARD COUNTY -----FORT LAUDERDALE COUNTY -------DADE COUNTY

Surely you remember the account of the Canadian repentance toward the survivors of the St. Louis ship carrying nearly 1,000 Jewish refugees which were denied landing in both South and North American countries, and eventually were sent back to perish in Nazi Europe. Canada, being the last chance for the Jewish refugees, profoundly repented on November 5th as you recall from my previous reports. The United States, however, has not.

...WHILE THE WORLD LOOKED THE OTHER WAY--INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES

For five days, between June 3 - 6, 1939, the St. Louis sailed along the coast of Florida, from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, waiting for an answer. On June 4th a US coast guard # 244 cutter ship left from the naval base in Fort Lauderdale to make sure that the St. Louis did not land on American soil, but rather sailed on. Indeed, the only gates open for these Jewish refugees were the gates of the concentration camps where most of them perished, while the world looked the other way.

THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Two days after our historic repentance event in Ottawa just a few weeks ago, the presidential elections were held in the USA with the strangest results ever in American history. The election still hangs in the balance in the State of Florida with only a few hundreds of votes separating the rival candidates.

WHICH COUNTIES DID THIS? THE SAME ONES IN THE NEWS!!

The interesting point, though, is that the counties where the votes are being recounted today, holding up the results of the elections for weeks now, are West Palm Beach county, Broward county, Fort Lauderdale, and Dade county. These are the very same counties, which held their gates shut as the St. Louis passed by them in silent despair, a witness which will haunt the territory for generations.

ARE WE SEEING THE RESULTS OF THIS HISTORIC SIN BY THE U.S.?

To date, there has not been a full repentance, recognition, or even an understanding from American intercessors of this issue. Could this historic sin of the US be related to the national sham, which is carried out before the whole world in these very counties?

An intercessory gathering is planned in Fort Lauderdale for June 2 - 6, 2001 to bring the issue full circle into complete repentance. We pray that the American church will rise to the challenge for the nation's sake. However, it is essential that American intercessors repent before God now over these unresolved issues, so that His mercies will triumph over His judgments.

May God guide and guard your hearts during these trying times.

From Jerusalem, Reuven Doron
