There is a very important day coming up on October 5th called: "The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem." We are told in Scripture to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122:6).
Both Jack Hayford and Robert Stearns have started a global prayer movement calling the nations to fulfill their Biblical mandate to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for God's purposes to come forth in Israel during this critical hour.

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) is a global grassroots prayer movement calling the nations to fulfill their Biblical mandate to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and for God's purposes to come forth in Israel during this critical hour. It is held annually on the first Sunday of every October, and this year, will be observed on October 5th.
Though we pray every day for Israel, we seek on this day to unite Believers around the world in raising a cry to Heaven on behalf of this troubled, but strategic land and all of her people. We believe in God's promises for His beloved nation and fervently pray to hasten the day when He brings fulfillment to His word.

Begun in 2002 by Co-chairs Dr. Jack Hayford (President of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel) and Rev. Robert Stearns (Founder and Director of Eagles' Wings Ministry) in meetings with leading political and religious leaders from Israel and the United States, this is now the largest prayer movement of its kind, with over 1,000 key leaders within the Evangelical Christian world lending their active support.
These influential Christian Leaders represent all different denominations, nations, cultures, and ages, yet are fully united on this one key point - that Jerusalem, Israel, and all of her people need the fervent prayers of the Church in this hour as never before.
Leaders in both the National Day of Prayer and the Global Day of Prayer organizations have endorsed the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem as a day no less important for Christians around the world to stop and remember their call to prayer. Even the largest women's prayer ministry, AGLOW International, has been fully involved with most of their leaders from 165 nations participating. The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, stateside and abroad, is on board as well.
Last year, approximately 167 nations participated, and this year, by God's grace, it is expected that up to 175 nations will take part in praying for the peace of Jerusalem. These numbers represent tens of millions of Christians from all different cultures, denominations and generations, from cathedrals in cosmopolitan cities to tribal grass hut churches in Africa and even underground churches in Muslim nations.
Some cities, states or nations also have regional gatherings in addition to the local church worship service - to express their unity in prayer.
In addition, there is a 24-hour DPPJ Teleconference Prayer Call on October 5th, hosted by Greater Calling (www.greatercalling.org), which allows people from all over the world to join together in a cyberspace prayer meeting for the needs of this strategic city and her people.
This year marks some exciting developments for the grassroots prayer movement.
Firstly, there is a special Day of Prayer gathering on October 5th in Jerusalem with worldwide Church Leaders and Israeli dignitaries that will be broadcast live on God.TV to over 200 nations that day. The Jerusalem observance of the DPPJ is always a profoundly moving event as intercession is lifted up for God's land from God's land.

This year the entire family is able to participate on October 5th because a Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem Program for Kids has been added to the many resources.
