On Holy Ground

Ever find yourself drawn unwillingly into a conflict? The number one title for God in the Bible is the "Lord of Hosts" - a military term. We who love Him are both His family and His army.

I have been unwillingly involved with a deceitful individual who has bluntly worn me out. I grew tired of dealing with this situation and I began to let anger and a vile bloodlust for vengeance rise up in my heart. I grew tired of getting stuck in the middle of his web of lies.

A scary thing happened which jolted me back to God.

A situation came up which needed ministry. I prayed, and a word of wisdom from heaven came which brought comfort and deliverance! The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. The word brought rejoicing and freedom again in the Lord.

A cold, clammy chill crept over me. My heart was fuming with rage at injustices I have recently suffered. Over the weekend I felt as far from God as a man could feel. Suddenly, despite the state of my heart, the spiritual gift functioned perfectly, as if there were nothing wrong inside me. I ministered deliverance while in the blackest sin.

Remember that the gifts and calls of God are without repentance - which means once given, He doesn’t take them back. The gift worked while I was in the grip of the vilest moral darkness. To the one who received ministry, I certainly must have "looked" like a sound spiritual leader; I mean, the word

of the Lord came, didn't it?

Man knows the outer appearance but God knows the heart. This experience, which lasted only a few seconds, brought me trembling back to Jesus will a new and deeper surrender. It was a frightening experience. I could minister under the anointing while in cold-blooded, heard-hearted unforgiveness.

Don't be deceived by the outward appearances. We can get to a place where we look good on the outside but on the inside still be full of dead men's bones.

Don't be fooled into fighting spiritual battles on unholy ground. When you use the devils' tools, you use his rules, too. And his rules guarantee you will lose. Fight the good fight of faith on holy ground. Do things Gods way, walk by His Word and Spirit and the result will be the victory that overcomes the world.

May the River of Life flow unhindered through you today washing away every sin and every weight that so easily besets you, so that you may run the race to win!
