From the desk of Steve Shultz:
In my own book at the bottom Can't You Talk Louder, God? I detail many different ways we HEAR God speak. In addition, the ways we do our prophesying varies just as much as the ways we HEAR.
Now this word below is NOT about my book, but it adds to the concept in my book--that God deals with each of us on so many different levels and He makes sure we are constantly being updated with heavenly downloads--information from God about the way "things work" with God.
This is a great word by Bill Yount about the power of "testifying" which is another way of actually "prophesying." In other words, this is another heavenly download about the way things work with God that you may not have understood before.
Enjoy!

"When You Are TESTIFYING, You are PROPHESYING a WORLDWIDE REVIVAL!"
"...the testimony of Jesus (Christ) is the spirit of prophecy!" Revelation 19:10
Testimonies are one of our most potent weapons and are now beginning to explode the powers of darkness--out of whole nations!
I sense that this is a "kairos" moment, when the Father is putting a demand upon the earth this hour for anyone down here who has ever been touched by His great love and power, to stand up and testify and shout it from the rooftops of what the Lord has done in their lives.
The reason God wants you to testify is because what you think is a simple, small testimony has contagious power to spread around the world and set it on fire! Your testimony's DNA has the spirit of prophecy in it, since it's not really your testimony, but Jesus' own testimony of Himself, testifying to the world of His outrageous and contagious acts of grace and mercy--through you!
YOUR Testimony Has the Spirit of Prophecy in it Also!
A testimony is a public declaration of what God has done in your life.
The word testimony has its foundation in the root word meaning "to do again." The contagious power of a testimony is that what God does once He can do again for you and the whole world! When you are testifying what God has done in your life, you are actually prophesying what He will continue to do for you! For instance, when you testify about the Lord healing you in a certain area, you are actually prophesying that He will continue to heal the rest of you--spirit, soul, mind and body! What He begins He completes.
Ask an Avalanche of Snow that Falls Down a Mountain, "What Started It?"
Answer--JUST ONE SNOWFLAKE!
It is interesting how the Lakeland, Florida outpouring that is now going worldwide, and will arrive at your front doorstep at any moment, may have started with just one testimony from just one man, Todd Bentley. Years ago, he began telling others of what he experienced in the Lord and what God had done in his life. It seemed like his "testifying" was "prophesying" a worldwide revival. Of course, multitudes of other testimonies, corporately, have come forth from the earth, causing an avalanche of angels to decide to descend upon Lakeland, Florida--opening the Heavens with more angels now descending everywhere.
Did You Know that When You Testify What God Has Done in the Past, You are Prophesying Your Future Victories?
"And David said, 'The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this (giant) Philistine!'" 1 Samuel 17:37
As David was testifying, the spirit of prophecy kicked in and he prophesied Goliath's defeat and also the "ten thousand" that would be slain by him in his near future and every other enemy!
They Overcame By the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of Their Testimony!
Five years ago, when I had an attack against my heart, the Lord showed me that I would be healed gradually, little by little. From that day forward everywhere I would go, I would testify that I am being attacked by healing!
I carried healing on the inside of me like a pregnant woman for five long years. To be honest, my heart didn't always feel healed at times, but the truth was "healing runs in my family!"
Every cholesterol and blood test for the last five years has gradually improved, and just last week, I no longer needed medicine for my cholesterol or heart!
Whenever you experience even a small improvement in your health, shout it from the rooftops with thanksgiving, and you will enter into His gates where healing abounds--and keep thanking Him until the Healer gets inside of you! Even when your healing or miracle isn't here yet, you can testify of its coming and prophesy that it's on its way!
Many Have Stopped Testifying of What God Has Done in Their Lives
If your testimony is not fresh, go back to where God has done something in your life and rehearse it, and you will find the Holy Spirit will be activated to move again in your life in the now!
I know a pastor who, when nothing seemed to be happening in his congregation, would hear testimonies from other places where God was moving and he would share these miracles and healings with his congregation.
Soon the people's faith began to rise and they began to testify of their own experiences of God moving in their everyday lives. I visit this church about once a year, and when the pastor asks, "Does anyone have a testimony?" they almost run forward and share the most unusual, powerful testimonies I have ever heard of God doing for people. Strangers, at times, now testify of their bodies being healed and miracles happening as they walk into that church!
Perhaps you have heard the made-up story of the four men who carried a crippled man to Jesus. As this story is told, it goes like this: the one man spoke up and said, "I hate to doubt it, for Jesus touched my eyes when I was blind, but this man's needs are more serious than mine." The second man said, "No need to bother. Although Jesus touched my hand when it was withered, I don't believe He can heal a man so lame." The third man said, "I hate to question, for Jesus cleansed me when I was a leper, but this man will probably not live long."
Then every eye turned to the fourth man to see how he might criticize and doubt, but all three men were startled with amazement when the fourth man stopped and said his name out loud. He said, "My name is Lazarus, could I testify? My name is Lazarus, it feels good to be alive! When I was in chains of death, bound, this man Jesus called me out! If you think your little problem is too big for Him to solve, take it from the one who's heard the mighty voice of God, and my name is Lazarus!"
"For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard." Acts 4:20
It's time to testify!
