ENOUGH SAID ABOUT FEAR! OR HAS ENOUGH BEEN SAID?

ENOUGH SAID ABOUT FEAR! OR HAS ENOUGH BEEN SAID?
As long as 10 years ago, I remember saying to my wife once, "If he (speaking of a friend of mine) tells me one more time that my problem is 'the fear of man,' I'm going to scream!" Now, 10 years later after successfully dealing with many layers of 'the fear of man' I'm yet aware of more 'fear' layers that have become evident-- where my hesitancy to move on in the Lord, or move on in my mind--- is aided by man fears. We are often slowed in our call, even immobilized at times by our fears of what "man CAN (or is able) to do to me."
Which is why the Psalmist says: Ps 56:4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
Chances are good that the Psalmist had ruthlessly and obediently dealt with quite a few fears before he was able to say, under the Holy Spirit's anointing, "What can mortal man do to me?"
We think of fear as being an awful thing! And it is. But we are so trained by it (the enemy has done his job well), that while crippled by fear, we are yet comfortable with it's feeling. Many in the Body of Christ are "at home" with
fear--yet they are certainly not "at rest" with it.
By the way, the big ones are: Fear of man and Fear of Death. Notice how closely the two are related. You almost can't have one without the other.
Here's how the story ends:
Heb 2:14-15 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-- that is, the devil-- 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their FEAR OF DEATH.
DREAMS AND THE ELIJAH LIST
I don't put many dreams on this list, as so many are personal in application. However, I am including this dream not because of its profoundness, but because it is profoundly simple-- If we want to be at rest with the Lord, then we must not be at home with our fears.

OF ALL THE WOLVES COMING, "THAT ONE IS A FRIEND!" I SAID
A Dream By "Douglas T. Finney" fincon@bigplanet.com
Dear Mr. Shultz, Thank you for your efforts in coordinating the Elijah ministry. I am a member of Church in The City in Denver, CO.. In 1990. the Lord gave me a dream about one way that the enemy is interrupting the sabbath rest of Gods people. The following is an account of that dream.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OF ALL THE WOLVES COMING, "THAT ONE IS A FRIEND!" I SAID
In the dream I was lying down on my bed. There was not a room though, just the bed. It was as if it was suspended in the sky with no boundaries. The sky was the color of my actual bedroom at the time, a very light yellow color. As I was lying there in my bed, I suddenly noticed something in the distance approaching me. I sat up and looked at the approaching figures.
As they drew closer, I realized that they were five wolves. I immediately knew that they were coming to attack me and promptly stood up on my bed and await their arrival. I had no physical weapons, nothing materially to protect me. Keep in mind that there was no floor, no walls, no ceiling; just me and the bed. I moved to the center of the bed, knowing that they would be dogging me, trying to bite me and pull me off the bed.
As the wolves ran right up to the bed, one of them suddenly broke off and quickly sat down next to the head of the bed. I immediately thought " that one is a friend" and quickly turned my attention to the other four that were now surrounding the bed and were beginning to nip at my feet and ankles trying to pull me off the bed.
They did so one at a time from various spots around the bed. For the next several minutes I repeatedly rebuked them with the words " I rebuke you in the name if Jesus" over and over, first on one side then the other and so on til one by one the four wolves retreated, running off into the horizon until they were gone.
After the last of the four had gone, I sighed a sigh of relief and began to lie back down. As I did so, I suddenly noticed a glowing red in the eyes of the one remaining wolf. Startled, I jumped back up thinking 'he's one of them also'. I yelled one time " I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" and the fifth and last wolf quickly ran off into the horizon. I lied back down and the dream ended.
I prayed and studied my bible diligently for the next three days trying to get an interpretation. I concluded that the interpretation of the dream revolved around that one wolf at the head of my bed.
THE LORD SAID, "THAT ONE WOLF IS FEAR."
It was then that the Lord spoke to me, saying; "that one wolf is fear, he has made his way into the hearts of my people and is interrupting their rest".
As I considered this, I concluded that the bed symbolized rest. We only let what is near to our hearts close to our beds, especially the head of it.
The enemy has deceived the church so well that we have become friends with fear, we do not recognize the rest that we are entitled to or that it is being interrupted. We have become so familiar with fear that we do not even see it and have accepted it as common.
I believe that the rest that is being interrupted is the sabbath rest spoken of in Hebrews 4:1-11.
