WE ARE HIS LAMP STANDS - AND HE'S WALKING AMONG US

Greetings in Christ to all those on the ELIJAH LIST. You are a loyal and growing group of friends who are intent on hearing what the Lord is saying to His church today. We, the church, are HIS lamp stands:

Rev 1:12-13 And when I turned I saw seven golden lamp stands, 13 and AMONG THE LAMP STANDS was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. AND THEN WE LEARN:

Rev 1:20 The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp stands ARE THE SEVEN CHURCHES.

Christ is walking among HIS CHURCH today , sometimes correcting, sometimes building up, sometimes making incredible promises. You, on this list, are among those who cherish what it is (including the Holy Scriptures) that Jesus Christ is saying to us, HIS LAMP STANDS today!

Thank you for your devotion to the Voice of the Lord and to the discerning of those things which are true (or which are not).

SOUTH AFRICA CONTACTS ON THIS LIST SOUGHT

I know some of you are from South Africa, Zimbabwe, or Mozambique. There are some missionary friends heading out on a short term missions trip in that area (from the U.S) this weekend. There were going to stay at some hostels unless they can make some new friends where they are going. Let me know if any of you there have any extra beds.

I want to say a special and hearty thank you to all who have sent in

letters of reference or recommendations regarding the ELIJAH LIST. I was amazed and encouraged by the response. Very soon, many of those testimonials will be posted on the web site that is being developed. (currently only the missing family member site is active (http://www.seeklost.com) but the ELIJAH LIST information will be an extension of this site. I want you ALL to know that while I originally intended to write each of you back thanking you for your testimonials, there were so many of you that it has become nearly impossible. But know that EVERY POST was carefully read and each one was/is a great encouragement. Never think that YOUR letter didn't count. It Did!!

PASTORS, MINISTRIES, AND WOMEN'S AGLOW

I am encouraged by the number of pastors and serious intercessors on this list. I'm especially amazed at how many members of Women's Aglow fellowship (Now I believe its called Aglow International) are members of this list. You are a devoted and connected-together team of intercessors, serious about praying for the things that concern the Lord. Thank you for so many of you who sent in a testimonial re: THE ELIJAH LIST. I've been told over and over by many of you that THE ELIJAH LIST is often a source or inspiration for your intercessions. I just want to bless all the pastors, ministries, and AGLOW members--as well as all others on this list.

LISA UPDATE

For those who have so faithfully lifted up LISA COOK in prayer-- whose mouth has been so painful and who has been so oppressed by the enemy, Thank you and an update. First, there were so many prayers and encouragements written to Lisa, she has not had the time to write you all back, but she has received and read EVERY post that was sent to her. Thank you again, both from me and from Lisa. I am happy to report that while she is doing much better with the mouth pain ( There were times when the pain left and she felt she may be cured--but Doctors continue doing tests), She has just told me that she is almost back to her normal physical self. In addition, she has not felt this spiritually free (or unoppressed) in well over a year. My wife and I have personally seen a new energy and freedom in Lisa that we haven't seen for a long time. Please keep praying, those of you who feel this burden to carry Lisa in the Spirit. I know you are not all called to carry her in prayer, but those who can, she is very grateful. And the results of your prayers are AMAZING.

PRAYER NEEDS

Which brings me to another subject. I realize I can't put everyone's prayer request on this list as that is not the general direction it is organized for. Many only subscribe knowing they will not be overwhelmed with too many posts. The only option I've considered is that if there was enough interest, we could have you send your prayer needs to the email address of another person who would abbreviate them and we could send them out as one post, once per week. If you didn't have time to read the prayer requests, you could simply delete that ONE email post. Any feedback?

JIANG NAN

A big thank you to all who sent in advice, prayers, and recommendations for sharing the things of God with Jiang Nan, our

exchange student who is now back in China, yet connected by the Internet. She wrote and asked me if God really exists. I've written my first response to her since her request. About a week ago. I have not heard from her and it concerns me that it may have been intercepted by those in authority. Her father works for the government. Please pray that she is able to learn about the gospel over the Internet. There are a few of you that offered cultural advice and I will probably be contacting you when I get a chance. That includes you, Bryan Huppert (and your wife) as well as the Korean pastor (I think it was) who had some cultural insights.
