Introduction from Obii--Previous Timeline

When Catherine Brown tracked me down in Nigeria to share the wonderful vision she received on 07/07/07, I was not in the least surprised that she would be chosen as a burden bearer to Nigeria. The vision was a follow up to another significant vision in March 2007, when Catherine was shown God's timeline over Nigeria.

In the vision, she and I stood on the timeline, giggling like precious children. A clock appeared before us and the time read "3:20." When Catherine finally contacted me in the second week of March, I immediately understood the message within the vision she had received. I believe March 2007 was the month when "time" was aligned over nations. The implication of this being that--many nations received the opportunity to be aligned with God's preordained will.

When Catherine contacted me, I had been in Nigeria on a one-week planned training program with a team of leaders from my church. The Lord instructed me to remain in intercession for Nigeria until a new nation is born, literally, through the leadership that will emerge from the general elections (which were held in April). I was uncomfortable and restless at the time, especially as all of my traveling team had returned to England. I had finally made up my mind to pack up and return home when I received Catherine's telephone call. I believe Catherine was shown God's set time for Nigeria to be aligned with His timing for future activities.

A name is foundational and fundamental to a person's identity, so is the case with lands (Isaiah 62:4). True divine alignment produces confidence with which to function in originality of given identity. It is therefore no surprise that Nigeria's name is being addressed in a time such as this. The face of the clock Catherine saw appeared over Nigeria's timeline in the vision of March 2007. This was speaking of time and of events over a twelve-month period. I perceived 3:20 was pointing me to March (3rd month) and the day was the 20th. I was to stand in waiting as a spiritual midwife, and a new nation was about to be born after nine months. The Spirit of the Lord reminded me that on a previous trip to the country in 2006, I gave the word of the Lord to a prophetic gathering in Nigeria, that there would be a birth of a new Nigeria nine months from July 1st, 2006 (Isaiah 66:8).

I then understood that the prophetic conference I was determined to attend in London on March 21st (where Chuck Pierce was to be the keynote speaker), had the same purpose as the heart of the vision Catherine had. This time, it was about divine alignment of the U. K. for redemption, restoration and reformation. The gift of Issachar had been deployed to align "times" over nations in line with God's timing. When nations stand in time on God's timeline, activities are no longer controlled by man's agenda. The Kingdom of God comes upon those nations and lands.

Catherine's Vision on 07-07-07 and Glory Encounter

In the vision, I saw a simple mud hut with a thatched type of roof, with the words "wickedness and lawlessness" written on it. I discerned there was a dark being inside the hut. Initially, I thought it might have been a witch doctor, but ultimately, I realized that it was a spiritual being. It is my belief that this being was representative of the strongman over Nigeria.

Suddenly, the glory of the Lord was all around and the little hut exploded, exposing the demonic being inside. It sat stunned and overwhelmed on the ground, with no strength to defend itself or the dark kingdom it stood for. Simultaneously, I saw myself and my fellow minister, Obii, appear in the vision. We were raised up off the ground and suspended in midair over the hut with our arms outstretched, touching fingertip to fingertip.

Beside us, was a massive angel with a sash bearing the word "Nigeria." It is my belief that the angel was the angel of the nation of Nigeria, who carries much authority in the spiritual realms. The power and joy released from the Heavens was phenomenal. We were joined as one in the Spirit of the Lord as God's presence cascaded from Heaven to earth.

I believe this speaks of a power encounter during which the angel over the nation of Nigeria will displace the strongman of lawlessness and wickedness over there. I am reminded of Jesus' words that when He drives out demons by the finger of God, the Kingdom of Heaven is upon us. It will take honest linking of hearts, vision and anointing to rise above the agendas of strongmen over nations--and to deliver entire nations.

Vision of Collecting Gemstones

The vision then changed to a different scene in which we were searching for precious stones. Whilst dusty and thirsty, nonetheless, we worked on undeterred, and between us, we unearthed a ruby, a diamond, an amber, a sapphire and an emerald. We placed the gems into a simple rucksack. The gems, perhaps, represent Kingdom qualities and revelation of virtue from Christ.

It is also interesting to note that even as we write, precious stones are being mined and smuggled out of Nigeria by foreigners. In 2004, the Lord spoke to Obii saying that He would allow all manner of mineral resources to be discovered in commercial quantities in Nigeria. To date, the nation has discovered and classified over thirty-five different minerals and precious stones including some of the ones Obii and I unearthed in the vision.

Governmental Encounter and a Shaking

The vision then proceeded to a third and final scene in which I saw a building bearing the words "Nigerian Consulate." We went up the steps of this building with angels on either side of us and a banner over us which read "ambassadorial." We were no longer dusty or tired looking, but were smartly dressed with a spring in our step. We walked into the building and met with a kindly looking official. He was so glad to receive the gemstones which we deposited with him. I am certain this man was a man of God because of his demeanor of humility and uprightness. It seemed he knew what to do with the precious stones. The deposit of the gemstones speaks of a proclamation and impartation of the Heavenly revelation we have received for the nation of Nigeria.

Upon exiting the building, a deep crevice appeared on the stairs as we descended. The crevice fanned out from the steps and the earth began to open up with an earthquake. I enquired of the Lord, "What is the timing?" and He responded, "March 2008." I am not certain at this stage whether the earthquake speaks of a spiritual seismic shift or if it will also have ramifications in the natural. However, I do understand it clearly speaks of an appointed time in God's timeline for the nation of Nigeria in March 2008.

Further Insight

We believe that the Lord may be provoking a name change for Nigeria; one that reflects the redemptive gifts of the nation. My own thoughts lean towards the name "Tirzah," who was one of the five daughters of Zelophehad (Numbers 27). The name Tirzah means "delightsomeness, an Israelitess, a place in Palestine." The five sisters rightly stated that their father did not rebel with Korah in the desert. This caused me to reflect upon the vision of the mud hut bearing the words "lawlessness and wickedness." Rebellion is lawlessness and the opposite of course is obedience, which is delightsome to the Lord.

I believe that in the redemption of precious Nigeria, that Tirzah will be emblazoned across the land and Nigeria's gates will become like the gates of Jerusalem described in the Book of Revelations--beautiful and blessed! I further consider that as Nigeria blesses Israel, there will be a huge downpour of blessing for Nigeria.

Obii writes: "Whilst recently in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, and after a strategic prophetic gathering I hosted on 07/07/07, I heard a voice declare: "Niger is getting eerie" (i.e. Nigeria). This was a warning to the church in Nigeria to pray for her nation with deeper insight and impetus at this time. The prophetic utterance came following an earlier prompting by the Lord to study the meaning of the name "Nigeria." Apparently, Nigeria was named by the wife of a colonial master, Lord Luggard, who named her after the "River Niger" in Nigeria.

I understood the call of Heaven to pray for the foundation of the most populous black nation in the world. It is said that one in every five black persons on planet earth is Nigerian. I perceived a "spiritual shift" coming to the Body of Christ to usher in a new generation of Christian leaders in Nigeria and a changing of the guards.

The Lord also declared that He was commencing a war against false righteousness in the Church. The time had come for the Nazirite call to be heard in the land. I sensed the Niger River will swell up and overflow its banks as a sign of God's war against unrighteousness within the Body of Christ and in the land as a whole. Nigeria has come into a ten-year period of a "Josiah type" reformation during which God's appointed and elected in government will institute righteous systems of governance (2007-2017).

I was led of the Lord to declare that unusual weather patterns would occur from 07/07/07 to 10/10/07 and then beyond. This would be a sign of the beginning of time when much of what man has built in the Church and government will fall. I perceived a clashing of kingdoms during this period as the power and glory of God is revealed through areas of previous malfunction such as energy and power (electricity), where the nation has been held ransom by strongmen over regions.

The Lord revealed much of Nigeria's problems were linked to the name she bears being rooted in the identity of a river that regularly receives demonic sacrifices and idol worshipping. Nigeria is in her "set time" to have unrighteous foundations within her borders excavated to make room for enduring foundations of righteousness. Intercessors in Nigeria need to keep prayer watches over the Niger Bridge crossing to the south of the nation in particular, and also bridges in her commercial capital, Lagos. Old bridges in the nation are under threat of collapse. The Lord is calling for new connections in the spirit and natural realms to carry the weight of His glory. The set time for old structures to give way for a new move of God's Spirit has come upon Nigeria, but her watchmen must come into alignment with God's heart for the land.

I also heard the Spirit of the Lord say, "Carter, Carter" recently, following a vision of a bridge (Carter bridge) and an underpass leading to the heart of old Lagos city. The bridge I was shown in the vision stood only by one pillar, unstable. A pigeon English word "Kata-Kata" commonly used in Nigeria to refer to trouble or disaster came to mind. I was reminded of the day of trouble that came upon King Hezekiah and his people through Sennacherib's threats (2 Kings 19).

In agreement with the vision of my friend and co-laborer Catherine, I discerned lawlessness and wickedness targeted at Lagos, the former capital city of Nigeria. Once more, "bridges" and "rivers" were highlighted as foundations that intercessors and watchmen of Nigeria needed to engage with, and are to watch over in prayers. Nigeria's future is being contended at present by water gods/spirits (Psalm 74) hence the current spate of lawlessness is being played out in the Island parts. The church in Nigeria must arise. The set time has come to contend for the destiny of a key nation in Africa and to see strongmen dethroned." --End of Obii's Insight

We engaged with God's heart for Nigeria, and felt a definite need for both spiritual and physical barrenness to be broken off of Nigeria. Obii believes Nigeria has been in a 40-year period of barrenness (moral, financial, government etc.) following the civil war that effectively began on July 6th 1967. It is interesting that the Lord chose the 6th and 7th of July 2007 (07-07-07) as days to reveal the majority of the insight we are presenting to the global prophetic community.

We believe Nigeria's time of barrenness is over, and that she has entered her season of fruitfulness. However, it will take a radical people with harvest mindsets to regain much of what the enemy has stolen from Nigeria, chiefly her dignity. We believe women will be used as prophetic signs of these new times of fruitfulness. Many Christian women who have endured lengthy periods of primary and secondary infertility will harvest the covenant promise of fruitfulness (Psalm 127:3).
