A CALL TO PRAY FOR AMERICA, IRAQ, CONGRESS

This is something I felt the Lord put in my heart. If it bears witness with you please pray.

Today as I was driving to meet a client, I listened to the Iraq situation on the radio. My spirit was stirred, and I began to intercede. Here are a few things that I saw. They don't all connect, but one thing really stood out. This is an ominous thing and the body needs to pray.

God is calling out to His spiritual ground troops to pray and intercede for the nation, the leaders, and the world. They are "ground" troops because they have been rooted and grounded in God's love. Their intercession is an overflow of His redeeming love. I saw the cross over these troops and heard that we are to fight under this banner.

I saw spinning golden balls descending over Iraq and the American troops in whirlwinds. For me, these balls often symbolize angels. Our intercession is called upon to send prayer bombs of loving kindness which will prepare the way for repentance.

Here are some points of intercession:

I sensed the nation was in mourning due to some great tragedy and felt moved to pray for God's protection both with the troops and in the states.

Pray for redemption of the Iraqi people.

I sensed that there was a trap set up to humiliate the US I'm not sure exactly what it is, but we need to pray that the plans of the enemy will be exposed.

Pray for protection over the minds of our officers that the spirit over the region will not have power over them.

Pray for the communication lines to remain open. Pray that the leadership will listen to counsel from the one true Commander-in-Chief. Listening is critical to prevent deception, to hear the voice of wisdom, and to uncover the plans of the enemy.

It is significant that this fighting precedes the season of Ramadan, a time of fasting and spiritual devotion. During this heightened spiritual activity, we pray that the Holy Spirit will touch many Muslims with a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Our country is divided between the impeachment issue and the military situation. Pray for a pure focus for the leadership for "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

I sensed the Lord wants His ground troops to move beyond prayer rooted in their own strength and to yield to His Spirit, so that they may pray and speak with His authority in this situation.
