CITIES OF REFUGE - A WORD TO THE CHURCH TO SHOW MERCY
Jane Williams, Pamela Ingram
Mar 26, 1999
Dear Steve, Sorry for taking so long in getting back with you concerning Jane having any prophecies which might be appropriate to put on your list. She received "Cities of Refuge" in 1996, but as she and I continue to minister in our city's public housing, we're now seeing the Lord, quite literally, fulfill this word in our midst. . .
Cities of Refuge Prophetic Word Given to Jane Williams May 6, 1996
"When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall appoint cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there." (Numbers 35:15, Deut. 19:1-13)
"I told the people of Israel to separate cities for the manslayer to flee to. For I knew there would be accidental deaths and there would need to be provision for the unintentional killer so that he would not lose his life as well through another's vengeance. In this day, I say to you - within your walls there shall be such respite. Does it surprise you that such a detail given under the old covenant would be applicable to you today? And I say, all the details point in some way to the heart of God and have some applicability to you even in these days. For these cities of refuge, as they were called, were important so that further innocent blood not be shed. They were important to show the justice and mercy of the Lord.
MANY OF THOSE CAUGHT IN SIN ARE SIMPLY TRAPPED IN A SIN-SICK WORLD
And in your day, I would have you, oh church, provide these same things. For there are many in this day entangled in sin simply by the fact that they live in such a sin-sick world. Many who have unintentionally hurt someone, even to the point of death. Multitudes are so deluded and without understanding that they do not know right from wrong. For there are many who
have aborted babies, who have cheated on income tax forms, many who have short-changed their employers and do not have any understanding that what they have done is wrong. There are many who have abused their children but did it only in following the example of their own parents. Many who swear and drink and steal but do so only because they have been taught no better or shown no differently. For today there is much more than the head of an axe handle flying off and hitting another. There is much sin committed that the sinner is not even aware of. For his eyes are blind. They have been blinded by the god of this world who often blinded their parents before them. They have been blinded by the media which teaches them that there is nothing wrong with seeking only their own gain.
CHURCH, THEY MUST HAVE REFUGE WITHIN YOUR WALLS.
Oh, church of God, I will be opening many of these blind eyes in days ahead and you must have a place to receive them. They must have refuge within your walls. For once they have realized their sin, the avenger, the enemy of their soul, will be hot on their heels. He will pursue them with guilt and shame. He will attempt to destroy their lives for he is relentless unless he is stopped. Oh church of God, these are days of awakening - awakening to God and to the truth. Many, many will turn in horror, as the man whose axe head flew off its handle, and see the destructiveness of their lives. Many will need comfort and consolation for they will grieve deeply over what they have done. Make room for them and do not further condemn them. Protect them from enemy attack. For he will be angry about their awakening and try to make this state worse than their sleep. He will try to convince them that there is no refuge in God, but I say to you, you must be the place where I can provide them peace. You must accept them with open arms. For many, many, many will flee to your gates for refuge in days ahead and I would not have you turn them away. Oh, you may be shocked by some of their tales, but if they have repented and are truly sorry, I want you to welcome them into your midst. If they are truly stirred with conviction and still lack full understanding about what they have done, I want you to explain it with patience and love. For I say to you, many are going to be awakened in these days, and I would have you be the first place they come.
RECEIVE THE WORLD WITHOUT JUDGMENT
Receive the world without judgment. Let Me be the judge. You simply be my chosen place of refuge. For many who come to you will experience judgment through the natural consequences of their past acts and you will need to provide refuge. You will need to stand with them in ongoing love for many will have lost livelihoods, family or friends and will need assistance in many ways. You can do this, oh church, for I established this means of providing refuge long ago, and I will help you walk in it. Be known for the cities of refuge within your midst. Be known for grace toward all. Be known for tender mercy and patience. For I will have many a refugee flock to your gates and if you receive them, you will be exceedingly blessed. Blessed by My hand and blessed by those who come. For many will then serve you in great gratitude and you, oh church, will become their home." -Jane Williams
