REGARDING TRIAL WE REPORTED FOR SALEEMA:
NEWS UPDATE FORWARDED BY: Donna J nsson Email Address: dejx2@autobahn.mb.ca
Taken from Religion News
Original Story:
A Pakistani Christian teen-ager is awaiting trial for converting a Muslim. "Saleema" reportedly gave an 18-year-old friend a Bible and answered questions about Christianity, said Newsroom, a Christian news service. The 18-year-old reportedly became a Christian and was killed for her faith by a family member. Islamic Sharia law calls for the death penalty for apostates. ...Authorities arrested Saleema after the girl's murder. While in jail she was beaten, raped, and tortured with hot irons and cigarettes, she told human rights workers. She is out on bail but could be sentenced to two years in jail if convicted. Authorities are negotiating with lawyers, and the charges could be dropped, Advocates International said. ...Reports that Saleema could be executed are incorrect. Many Christians have complained to Pakistani officials because of the rumors that she was about to be executed, a spokesman for Advocates International said. "There have been literally thousands of calls to Pakistani embassies, which has created bumps in the road," he said.
Here's the UPDATE - (from Religion News)
A court in Pakistan has dismissed blasphemy charges against a teen-ager who has been through a long ordeal. Saleema was arrested in 1997 and accused of converting a classmate to Christianity, a criminal offense in Pakistan. She and her pastor were reportedly tortured, and Saleema was raped while in prison, International Christian Concern said. Raheela, Saleema s friend, was reportedly killed by her brother after she refused to recant her Christian faith and to marry a Muslim man her family had chosen. Saleema was blamed for Raheela s death because of her alleged influence on her religious conversion. A court in Lahore determined that there was insufficient evidence against Saleema, and acquitted her of all charges, International Christian Concern said.

REGARDING THE RUMOR THAT WATER WAS FLOWING FROM THE TEMPLE MOUNT: UPDATE ON WATER FROM THE TEMPLE MOUNT RUMOR
This report sent in by: Glen Howard Email: howard@euroweb.hu
Steve, I asked the International Christian Embassy to check out this report. Here is their response.
Glen Howard Budapest
Mr. Howard-
I personally went to the Temple Mount yesterday to investigate the reports. I walked all around the area, including inside the Dome of the Rock, and did not see any water. This does not necessarily mean that it was not flowing previously, for it may have stopped or been blocked off/ diverted on another course. As far as I could see, though, there was no water.
Sincerely,
Cale Hahn
