Scott Hicks: "The Past Is Present--Getting Back To The Basics"
 

Spiritual things of the past are upon us. I prophetically decree it is time to take hold of the lessons of yesterday and utilize them in our present for Kingdom advancement. The Kingdom speaks of forward motion and activity; living in a Kingdom realm without slothfulness. The power of God was manifested more in the days gone past than it is being manifested in our present. I suppose the question should be: "Why?"

As God moved in days past, mankind became accustomed to His marvelous works. His works were a thing of their present, but as the Kingdom pushed forward, mankind took for granted the power of His name, the power of His manifest presence, and the power of His Glory! We have tried everything we can think of to get back to a time like the day of Pentecost. That day is upon us. It is just over the horizon, if we can begin to see it, we will know which way to push forward and enter in. If we can learn from our mistakes and get back to the basics, the past will become our present once again, and then we can proceed forward from there!

We Have Lost the Art of "Waiting" on God

Jesus said, "....wait in Jerusalem until you are filled with power...." The basics of what we need to learn from the past is waiting on God. We have thought of waiting as being without action, or even action without any force. The Kingdom must be taken by force. We have to return to the past and learn that waiting is an action with motive. We have to remember that a vision without action is only a daydream! We have to return to our first love. There we will be filled with power from On High and become even a greater witness than we presently are. 

Many of us write books for different reasons. God is calling us to a present where others will write books about us. It will be a present where others will speak of us like they did Jesus, Paul, Peter, Elijah, Ezekiel, Moses, James, and John etc...but we must learn to wait on God.

We have to become good waiters that offer God that which He desires. When we leave a restaurant, the performance of the "waiter" or "waitress" determines the amount of tip we leave. If the service was poor, we often leave threatening to never return to such a place. Yet every week we display on our church signs and our emails--"Church Service - 10:00." It is time to return to the art of being a good waiter or waitress! We often feel useless when we wait--we often feel weak. We forget that when we are weak then He is strong. We cry out for God's power to manifest as in days gone by, but we don't want to wait. We still haven't learned that "those who 'wait' upon the Lord will renew their strength!"

The Kingdom Clock is Stuck on High Noon and It Is Resurrection Time!

The time has arrived.  It is time to wait so that we can enter into the power that once resided in the past. And when we do, we have to get back to the basics, and learn from our mistakes, and not take the Lord's power and presence for granted. Think of how it would be if a sea actually parted before our eyes, and if tangible fire fell from above and consumed our enemies on every side, and if someone four days dead were raised again to life! Think of how it would be if the blind saw and the lame walked daily, and if our shadow cast upon the sick, and we saw them healed! The past is present! Right now calls for a divine shift in our strategies and motives. Right now a door is opening, and there is one way to enter therein. Wait!

God's past, in all of it's power and splendor can become our present once again. I challenge you; wait with me. There were 500 people sent to the upper room to wait, but by the time the Spirit fell--there were only 120 of them left. God is giving a command to wait (worship) once again, and I refuse to leave before that door of restoration brings back His power from the past, into our present!
