"Why does God
Only Give Us a Word?
Why Doesn't He give us a
Complete Sentence?"

"He
told her, 'Go, call your husband and come back.' 'I have no husband,' she
replied. Jesus said to her, 'You are right when you say you have no husband. The
fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your
husband. What you have just said is quite true.'" --John
4:16-18
Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went
back to the town and said to the people, "Come, see
a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"
--John 4:28-29
When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, He said to her, "Go and get
your husband." He pinpointed a small aspect of what was going on in her life,
and she, in turn, ran and told the people in the town, "Come and meet a man that
has told me everything about my life." But He didn't tell her everything about
her life. He told her one thing, but that was her whole world, her whole life.
And so, your whole life is the very thing that you are presently facing.
I can't take someone else's burden and compare it to my own, thinking mine is
small compared to theirs. My burden is big to me, and the enemy will always try
to combat the final outcome of my life. He always digs up the little things that
hold us back.
The Bible says in John 8:32,"You shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The
knowledge of the truth--not truth--will make you free. Truth won't make
you free. The knowledge of the truth makes you free. Once you know the truth, it
will set you free. This is a kind of truth that is divinely inspired. If someone
speaks badly about you, and you find out about it, that truth will not set you
free; it may hurt you. Divine truth comes directly from God. The Bible says that
His Word is truth. The doctor may tell you the facts from a scientific
standpoint--and he may be telling the truth--but the truth that I'm talking
about is what God gives us in His Word.
When I give someone a personal prophetic word, and they know that it came from
God and subsequently attain the knowledge of that truth that was given to them,
no matter what comes against them, they have the weapon of the knowledge of
truth. The responsibility then rests on them, and they have the power to make
that truth a fact or fiction.
The doctor may tell you the truth based on the facts that he has attained with
his prognosis. God tells you the facts based on His divine truth. You may not be
able to see it; it may not be evident, but He tells you the facts based on the
truth. We want life to be exactly the way we perceive it to be. We want it to be
perfect, but that is not the case. Problems and struggles always arise, and the
truth will set you free from some of these things as they come against you.
Regardless of circumstance, remember to ask yourself if you know the truth. God
will give you a promise, and prognosis will contradict the spirit of prophecy.
The spirit of prophecy is the spirit of truth, and Christ is also the spirit of
truth. When contradiction takes place, if you have truth, you have the power to
make God's truth your truth. Even when things seem to be going backwards, the
truth remains the truth, and you have the power to make it a fact.
Truth Remains
God is Ultimate Truth. Our individual truth is reality. It is wisdom, but in
time and space, we have to make it fact. I've discovered something beautiful
about the power of truth. It can do anything if you make it a fact. How do you
make it a fact? Your faith makes it a fact. Your imagination makes it a fact.
Everything you dream about must be the truth; don't allow yourself to get
wrapped up in your present circumstances.
When God speaks to you, He only gives you a word.
"For to one
is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of
knowledge through the same Spirit." --1 Corinthians 12:8
This means that you receive a "word of
knowledge and a word of wisdom." Why does He only give us a word? Why doesn't He
give us a sentence? Because He created us in His image, and we have the power to
fill in the rest of the sentence. If you get it wrong, God is going to erase it
and make you begin again, until you write the words that He meant for you to
write.
You may be thinking that if God is God, why doesn't He just work it out? Because
God created you in His image, and you have the power to work it out for
yourself. So when God says to you "wealth," you can write ". . . is going to
corrupt me and make me bad". . . . or you can write, ". . . gives me the power
to extend the Kingdom, that the Gospel will go throughout the earth." Truth only
becomes fiction when you refuse to step out and do what you know you must.
God told Adam and Eve to subdue and have dominion of the earth; that is the
truth. They made it fiction because they didn't have dominion. They did
something they were not supposed to do. Why do we think that God is limited to
our knowledge and our perception? It does not matter how bad it gets, if TRUTH
is present through His written word, prophetic word, and promises; He can do
exactly what He promised. God gives us the choice to die daily. We have the
choice to apply death to ourselves. We die to our old self, we die to our
feelings, we die to our circumstances, and we make a choice.
 Let
me tell you a little secret about the way God communicates; He wants to speak
directly to you. How do I know He's talking to me? What does His voice sound
like? It is difficult to describe, I really don't know. All I know is that I
know when God is speaking to me. I can't tell you what it sounds like. When
Samuel was hearing God for the first time, it sounded like Eli the priest. So,
it is a familiar sound. When God speaks, His word comes forth, and it breaks the
power of every contrary thing that exists at that time.
God doesn't want to use a prophet to talk to you; He doesn't want to use an
angel. God wants to talk to you directly. Because of sin, however, your
consciousness is ever-present. When you are conscious, you are aware of your
problems and weaknesses, so God puts you to sleep to communicate with you in the
form of a dream. Sometimes, He will communicate through a vision. What's
happening in a vision or a dream? You are knocked out; you are not as conscious
of your problems. So God is capable of communicating with you, but it is not His
best. The second chapter of Acts says that all will prophesy,
dream, and see visions.
The truth is considered to be supreme reality. Supreme reality sets us free from
present reality. Fact is knowledge (or information) based on a real
occurrence--something believed to be real. Fiction is an imagination or pretense
that does not represent actuality.
Once in a while, I'll have a dream about something sad, and I'll wake up crying.
To me, for a short moment, it was a fact. As time goes by, I realize that event,
though it was a dream, was real to me at that moment, and it felt like fact.
That's how it is when God speaks to you. It feels as real as that moment when
you wake up from a dream, and you haven't quite realized you were only dreaming.
"For we did
not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He
received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him
from the Excellent Glory: 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'
And we heard this voice, which came from heaven when we were with Him on the
holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well
to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the
morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of
Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the
will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
--2 Peter 1: 16-21
Peter was speaking of his meeting with
Jesus. A voice from Heaven said that Jesus was the beloved Son, and they
believed it. It was a fact to them because God said it. When God says something,
it is done. It is truth that we must make a fact by believing it and living it.
They became eyewitnesses of truth that had not, as yet, manifested as fact.
Jesus was presenting himself in His resurrected glorious state BEFORE He
was crucified. His face and appearance changed according to Luke, and they saw
it with their own eyes. And yet, God had to say, "This IS my beloved Son. . .
HEAR HIM." They saw Jesus in his Glorious post-resurrected state. But God
confirms that this is the Son and that they should continue hearing Him "until
the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."
Remember that once Jesus changed back into His normal appearance (in time), He
told them in Matthew 17:9, "...Tell the
vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead."
Also note that Peter says that the prophetic word was "confirmed," but how? They
saw AND they heard. Faith comes by hearing; faith supplies vision to
sight. When you have faith and vision, the word is already confirmed.
The Prophetic Word Is Confirmed
 When
God gives you a Word, it is only confirmed when you hear it and SEE IT,
whether in a vision, dream, or in the spirit. When it is given and delivered to
you, it is already fact, it is already true, it is already done, and it is
already established. They didn't have to wait for the crucifixion; they didn't
have to wait for Him to rise from the dead before they made the announcement
that He was the Son of the Living God because God had said it. It was already a
fact; He was already crucified.
On the mountain, He had already been crucified, even though He had not been
crucified physically (on the earth) yet. It had been established in the heavens,
and it was revealed to the disciples. So Peter said, "We have the prophetic word
confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place," as
truth that shines in a dark place.
God changes your view of the problems you face. When your perception (of these
problems) changes, everything else changes with it. When your perception
changes, you have the ability to change. Prayer changes you, and you change
things. Make the truth a fact by adhering to the conditions and requirements
that God lays down in His Word.
IF GOD TELLS YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE WEALTHY, DON'T WAIT FOR IT TO
HAPPEN. DO WHAT IS REQUIRED IN THE WORD TO PERPETUATE THE PROSPERITY AND TO MAKE
IT A FACT: "GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN TO YOU," SAYS LUKE. GOD WILL GIVE
YOU WHAT HE PROMISED BASED ON YOUR RESPONSE.

 Kim
Clement was born September 30, 1956, in South Africa, a nation divided
