TOTAL ECLIPSE AUGUST 11, 1999

C. Peter Wagner
Aug 10, 1999

(Taken from Dr. C. Peter Wagner Prayer TrackNews) The total sun eclipse that will take place on August 11 has great spiritual significance for the pagan world. New Agers, sun and moon worshippers, and other pagans will conduct rituals that will attempt to empower the Queen of Heaven through their convenants and worship. The eclipse will pass over many places in Europe, the Middle East, and surrounding areas where some of the greatest strongholds of the Queen of Heaven have existed from early civilization. (See Acts 19) There is a link between Islam and the Queen of Heaven, as demonstrated by the crescent moon and star on many flags and over all mosques. The eclipse will last for 3 hours starting at 11:00 am London time.

As the pagan ceremonies are lifted up worldwide, we would like to ask the Body of Christ worldwide to do some worship to the Living and True God. We are suggesting that you seek the corresponding hours of the eclipse in your time zone (3:00 am PDT) and pour out lavish worship to the only Creator of the universe. True worship establishes spiritual strength in a geographical area, just as pagan worship gives principalities and powers legal right to exercise their evil powers over geographical areas.

The following article by Ana Mendez is a list of suggestions for a time of worship, repentance, praise, Scripture reading and prayer. Please join us on August 11!

1. God's people need cleansing first. Have a time of repentance where all the participants search their hearts to be clean before the Lord, especially with the sins and attitudes that identify with the Queen of Heaven including: *Hard core idolatry: Worship of idols, witchcraft, horoscope, New Age * Soft core idolatry: Trust in wealth or in people; greed - a need for luxury. This is not necessarily possessing something expensive, but an overwhelming, greedy need to have it.) * Seductive attitudes to get what we want. * Controlling attitudes to get it done our way. * Jealousy, gossip, or poisonous talking. * Rebellion, an attitude to always find defects in people or authority. *The search of self-glorification and recognition - selfish ambition. * Sexual sins. * Shedding of blood (including abortion)

2. Have a time of praise using songs that describe the mighty power of God against His enemies.

3. Have a time to declare the Word as a prophetic declaration against the Queen of Heaven. Use the following Scriptures: * Jeremiah 50 - 51 *Revelations 17 - 18 * Isaiah 13, Nahum 2 - 3 *Emphasize Revelation 18:2, 5-8

4. Bind the powers of the Queen of Heaven over your city or region as a verbal declaration.

5. Command the Queen of Heaven to release her captives, that the gates of Hell that she keeps will be opened and that the people in bondage will be set free. Also command that her veils intended to blind the people will fall off their eyes and they will see the light of the Gospel.

6. Proclaim that the altar of the Queen of Heaven will fall from the people's hearts and that God will destroy her shrines.

7. Pray that she will come out from her place of hiding and deception and that her evil be brought to the light for her defeat.

8. Sing praises and worship, declaring the victory of our God.

For more reading on the QUEEN OF HEAVEN, read this from Jeremiah:

This passage speaks of the detestable offering of sacrifices to the "Queen of Heaven,"--

Jer 44:17-25 17 We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our fathers, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm. 18 But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have had nothing and have been perishing by sword and famine." 19 The women added, "When we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did not our husbands know that we were making cakes like her image and pouring out drink offerings to her?" 20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both men and women, who were answering him, 21 "Did not the LORD remember and think about the incense burned in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem by you and your fathers, your kings and your officials and the people of the land? 22 When the LORD could no longer endure your wicked actions and the detestable things you did, your land became an object of cursing and a desolate waste without inhabitants, as it is today. 23 Because you have burned incense and have sinned against the LORD and have not obeyed him or followed his law or his decrees or his stipulations, this disaster has come upon you, as you now see." 24 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, including the women, "Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah in Egypt. 25 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You and your wives have shown by your actions what you promised when you said, 'We will certainly carry out the vows we made to burn incense and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.' "Go ahead then, do what you promised! Keep your vows! (NIV)
