Chuck Pierce, Peter & Doris Wagner:
United States
Strategic Prayer Network Responds to the Hurricane Disaster in this Country and
Gives Options to Help.

Dear
Leaders:
We are supporting all the efforts of those that we are connected with in the states
that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. We are attempting to send financial support
to those we are connected with, as well as, petitioning the King of all Kings to
stand and intervene on their behalf. We are also attempting to support the churches
that we are connected with, in those areas. Here are two reports from Roger and
Charlotte Merschbrock in Louisiana, and Billie Joe Young in Mississippi. We will
send another update in a couple of days. Texas has received 250,000 evacuees; so
we will get a report from there as well.
Blessings,
Chuck D. Pierce

Dearest Friends
in the Louisiana & US Strategic Prayer Network & the ELIJAH LIST:
As we search for words to release over this communication, we recognize that the
minuscule definition we had for "overwhelming" a few days ago, in the wake of this
disaster, has taken on a new and expanded meaning. Our hearts are grieved for our
brothers and sisters in the southeastern part of our state and the entire Gulf Coast,
who have lost family members, homes, churches, jobs, and the list goes on.
It has been humbling to read and reread prophetic words that were released concerning
Louisiana and New Orleans as close as July of this year through Kim Clement; exactly
one year ago through Chuck Pierce, when he was here in Louisiana; and even 5 years
ago through Cindy Jacobs and others.
Steve Shultz posted on his website right before
the storm came in: God is up to something. He's waking up a whole state. God does
not cause and require deaths in the day we live, but sometimes He prophesies over
a state, while simultaneously withholding a measure of grace -- for the short term
-- in order to infuse a huge measure of grace for the long term in a region. This
may be one such time.
Now, down to the urgent needs of the hour. If you didn't get Chuck Pierce's email
entitled, "How to Pray Now for the Gulf Coast," you need it! Please let us know,
and we'll send it to you. We must keep the prayer shield in place to stop the advance
of lawlessness and the plans of darkness that would take opportunity through the
vulnerable place we find ourselves in, as a state and nation.
Secondly, we believe the Lord wants to use the prayer network here in Louisiana
to help mobilize strategic help for the body of Christ, at this time. God spoke
to us four years ago and specifically said to "build relationships," that this was
the priority. Now we're seeing the reason why. God has connected us with apostolic
and pastoral leaders throughout LA, and a number of them are walking through the
devastation of losing everything they owned. We received an email from a pastor
in New Orleans (now in Lafayette) this morning that said, "I feel like a deer in
the head lights." Yesterday, we met with a pastor who has temporarily relocated,
with some of his church members, to Alexandria. He wept as he shared about talking
to church members on the phone who had water rushing into their houses, and he had
not heard from them again. It was heart wrenching, to say the least.
We recognize that the needs are far-reaching. We feel that our mandate, at this
time, is to focus on these apostolic and pastoral leaders, who are beginning to
connect with their displaced church members and are discovering a multitude of needs.
Like we said, we have known these individuals for years and have seen their heart
for the Lord and their integrity. As they begin to connect with those they know
in this entire region, they will be much better equipped than us to distribute the
help. We are asking you to prayerfully consider being a part of this effort. The
following are some of the needs that were expressed to us yesterday:
-
There is an immediate need for cash, since they
are not able to access banks in New Orleans and other cities. They, also, need money
for food, clothing, gas, and motel rooms (until they can find places to stay).
-
Housing for families--we had a specific request
for housing in the Lafayette area.
-
Gideon Fellowship of New Orleans evacuated several
of their church members in a van, leaving their vehicles behind, thinking they would
return in a few days. Now, all of their vehicles are under water in the city. If
any of you have second vehicles that you could give on loan, please let us know.
-
These people are going to have to put their children
in schools, where they are staying. Children will need school uniforms and other
supplies.
We are aware that there are many other needs,
and we will keep you posted as we receive more information.
May the church of Louisiana arise, as never before, in unity and with the compassion
of Christ. Our prayer is that this tragedy will become a place of triumph, and our
land, which looks desolate, will ultimately become a land married to Him! (Is. 62:4)
Praying and Acting!
In Christ,

From Mississippi:
Mississippi and Louisiana have been devastated by Katrina. We have been knocked
down, but by the Lord, we are not out. He still reigns on High. The Church in Mississippi
is going to rise out of this, and we are going to be able to minister in the midst
of it. There are many who have not been able to contact friends or family. From
the Mississippi Coast, to close to Jackson (which is in the central part of the
state), there is no power, water, sewer, food, telephone service, cell phone service,
or gas, only what is being brought in by the emergency organizations.
There are approximately 1,000,000 without power
in Mississippi alone. Not everyone is able to get to the areas where they are dispensing
the rations. There are reports of hundreds dead from the hurricane or the effects
of the aftermath. There are many relief agencies that you can give through: the
Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way, and church organizations.
Our ministry, Repairers of the Breach, will be receiving money and directing it
to needs, as we begin to make contact with Churches, from the coast to Jackson.
I am going to try to make a run to Picayune, which is close to the Gulf Coast, to
make some personal contact with some of the pastors there and to offer some of the
people there, places to go to get away from the area. I will also take some water,
two generators, a small amount of gas, and possibly a small amount of food on this
trip. I am not even sure, at this point, if I will be able to get into the area,
but I feel a mandate from the Lord to go.
We want to be your eyes, ears, and arms, as much as possible. We are attempting
to network churches throughout the state and with churches along this devastated
area. There are many independent churches that we work with, and are in contact
with, that do not have a denominational connection to work with each other. The
Lord had already placed the connections on our heart, and we had begun to build
these relationships.
If you want to send canned food and other items,
the Red Cross and Salvation Army are your best avenues. We will be using the funds
given to Repairers for establishing these connections and meeting what needs we
can, directly, to help these groups get back on their feet.
There are going to be expenses, such as, the purchase of gasoline to help people
get around and to possibly get out from the Gulf Coast, to find shelter and provisions,
and in returning home. People's funds are not going to last long.
This is just the initial stage. Many are not
going to have homes, cars, clothing, or jobs. The Federal Govt. and national emergency
organizations will help with many of the upfront needs, but there are going to be
insurmountable needs for individuals, families, and churches. We need to go where
they are, until communication is established, and it appears that may be weeks,
maybe even months for some.
We have been asked, "What can people do to help? Can we send supplies? Can we send
funds?" You can give money or supplies to the Red Cross or Salvation Army or other
relief agencies. If you would like to give directly to the Church in Mississippi
and do not have a connection, we are going to be receiving funds to begin to meet
immediate needs and then to help long term. Funds are needed now, to begin to meet
the immediate needs.
Immediate Prayer Request:
1. Pray that the God of miracles would release miraculous rescues, provisions, and
healings.
2. Pray that the Lord would give great wisdom, strength, and stamina to the emergency
volunteers.
3. Pray for the believers caught in this disaster--that faith would arise, and they
would be lights in the midst of this despair.
4. Pray for the survivors and for their losses--both families, friends, and property.
5. Pray for the survivors--that they will be able to get the needed supplies to
sustain life.
