Prophetic word received on January 6, 2026:
"Lord, What's on Your Heart?"
2025 was an interesting year. We saw so many amazing things that God did in our lives, and even when it didn't appear like He was doing something, He was doing something. During the first week of the New Year, everyone was asking, "Okay, what the is the Lord speaking regarding the New Year? What is the word for the New Year?"
I didn't do that this year. That's not where my heart was. I was just asking the Lord, "Lord, just speak to me. What's on Your heart? I just want to hang out with You."
A Memory
Worship music plays continuously in my house, and one day, as I was sitting on my couch listening, an old song came on from long ago, from a time when the Lord was dealing with me personally. The song was playing softly in the background, and it suddenly hit me—a switch was turned on.
I asked the Lord, "Why is this hitting me so hard?"
He began to remind me of a moment in time when I encountered Him. I was then taken to a place of memory where I had my deepest times of intimacy with the Lord. I sat there and just wept with the Lord. It was as if time slowed down and it was just me and the Lord. He began to give me a word for 2026. It came from the place of intimacy.
The Year of First Love
When you're in a relationship with the Father, there is no striving. He told me that this will be the year of our first love. He said that there is a renewing in the Spirit for divine love encounters: "Do you know that one love encounter will forever change you? Intimacy is love."
"Why?" I asked the Lord. "Why has it been so hard? Why have I felt so weary?"
I believe that is a true question for many Believers. I hear you asking: "Why has it been so hard? Why have I been so weary in doing good?"
I heard the soft whisper of the Lord, "Because you have lost your intimacy."
So, I began to ask the Lord about intimacy. Intimacy isn't something you do, rather it's a heart position that leaves you vulnerable, without a guard being up. It's where you open your heart, and you position yourself in your heart and in your mind, so that you can begin to be open or intimate with the one that you love. Intimacy: Closeness to God
Intimacy is closeness to God.
"As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love." (John 15:9 ESV)
Where there's intimacy, you will find the dwelling, and in the dwelling, you will see the abiding.
"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." (Colossians 3:16 ESV)
An open heart is a key to entering into the secret place with the Father: "But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find Him, if you search after Him with all your heart and with all your soul" (Deuteronomy 4:29 ESV).
The "finding" part comes from the dwelling and searching positions, which must first take place. This intimacy is so deep that the deepest conversations and revelations are revealed.
"... that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death." (Philippians 3:10 ESV)
The season of striving is shifting to thriving, and a fresh awakening of the reality of the Kingdom is coming forth.
2026: Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 26
God is speaking loudly for our New Year. 2026 is the Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 26 for 2026!
Genesis 1:26 reads, "Then God said, 'Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground" (NLT).
Let's break this down just a little bit. "Let us make human beings in our image." So, from the very beginning you were on God's heart and mind, desiring for you to look like Him! Just imagine what that conversation was like to hear God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit talk about you and I!
"They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground."
God, from creation, already spoke forth your destiny as a king/queen and Kingdom dweller with Kingdom authority to reign! So, in 2026 you will see an awakening to the reality of the Kingdom like never before. (Photo via Unsplash)
The Kingdom dwellers are coming forth, and their weapon of warfare this season is called FIRST LOVE! It's the 1 John 4:19 verse: "We love because He first loved us" (ESV).
You will see an outpouring of God's love, and you will see His hand in the nation, the world, and in your own life.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13 KJV)
2026 Is Genesis 26!
1. In 2026 you will endure a time of testing of your faith and relationship with the Lord, but you must remain in the secret place, because the intimacy is what will sustain you.
"Now there was a famine in the land—besides the previous famine in Abraham's time—and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar." (Genesis 26:1 NIV)
2. In 2026 discernment and obedience position you for the encounter. There is a storm that is coming, but the Lord says, "Fear not! Speak to the storm! Prophesy, decree, and declare to the storm!"
The Holy Spirit is going to be the compass that guides you through the storm that is coming. Though you may not see clearly in the storm, God will give you heavenly direction on where, how, and when to move forward.
"The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, 'Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live.'" (Genesis 26:2 NIV)
3. Positioning is key right now! I heard the Lord say to hold the line! Stay and build. Many of you are getting weary in the waiting, and it's because your intimacy has left you.
Saints, you will see a tug of war in the Spirit in this time. This pulling and tugging will come from the place of a "depositioned" mind and heart that are not in alignment with the Father. Many have depositioned themselves, and it caused the Body of Christ to go around mountains this last season that didn't belong to them. Believers have become squatters instead of Kingdom citizens. The Lord says, "The season of striving is shifting to thriving, and a fresh awakening to the reality of the Kingdom is coming forth."
2026 breakthrough is here! God is releasing blessings and breakthrough, and the Kingdom dwellers are emerging!
The Lord said there is a new breed coming forth! I saw the Lord handing out new torches. The torches were beautiful, majestic, and covered with a fire that was green in color. These torches are called "Heaven's Love." They were forged by intimacy!
"Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham." (Genesis 26:3 NIV)
4. Get ready to receive and see blessings. 2026 will be marked by gifts and surprises, not just for you but for the generation after you!
"I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed." (Genesis 26:4 NIV)
5. The wisdom and revelation of God will be the foundation of this New Year. Divine revelation and direction for the positioning will take place.
"'Because Abraham obeyed Me and did everything I required of him, keeping My commands, My decrees and My instructions.' So Isaac stayed in Gerar." (Genesis 26:5–6 NIV)
Let us have eyes to see and ears to hear, as 2026 will require perseverance and discernment on when to advance and when to wait.
