2025: The Year That Had to Happen
(Note from Candace Roberts: I actually wrote this word at the end of 2024, but looking back, I realize it was a prophetic picture of the year I was about to endure. Wherever you are, I pray it speaks to you.)
Many of you went into 2025 holding on to prophetic promises you were sure would come to pass. As time appears to be running out, and the closing of the year draws near, you may find yourselves dumbfounded at how the year played out.
I hear the Lord strongly saying, "2025 was the year that had to happen." 2025 stripped you in a way you had yet to be stripped. 2025 came with unimaginable pruning and beckoned you to let go of things you weren't sure your heart could stand to let go of.
You thought 2025 would hold the promise, but it held you. It held the fruit of all you have walked through: the purpose in the pain, the promises, the strength, the oil, the anointing, the resolve to stand, to press in and say "yes" once again. 2025 was where it was all put to the test.
You Made It!
You may feel battered and worn, BUT you are here! You did not give up, give in, or surrender your yes. It may have felt like He was far away, but His love was ever abounding in the pruning away of what could not stay.
It looked and felt like a crushing. You felt the deep cut of each part of you that was stripped away. He cut away that which did not serve you, because He knew you were trustworthy. In every place that was cut away, you will see something new grow that you cannot even fathom—new fruit, new blooms, and new branches that are solid and firm.
Not for Your Destruction but a Divine Setup!
The Lord says, "2025 is the year that has prepared you for the next. This is the year that had to happen." It looked like others were setting you up to be destroyed, but it was HIM setting you up to bloom! Every hidden hurt, weakness, and trauma that was revealed in 2025 was the divine exposure of the Lord in order to bring healing, hope, and restoration. (Photo via Unsplash)
The enemy may have whispered in your ear that you accomplished nothing this year. But the Lord is saying, "I accomplished EXACTLY what I set out to. Now watch as I cause My faithful one to grow and bloom in ways that could not have come any other way."
2025 wasn't a setback, it was a stepping stone to the next thing. You aren't coming out empty handed; you are coming out ready to be filled. You weren't broken, you were prepared. You haven't missed it; you're standing in the place to receive your promise.
You Will Never Be the Same!
In 2025, everything in you has been pushed to shift. You may be feeling discouraged that things will never be the same; you will never be the same. They WON'T, and it's a reason to REJOICE! It is only forward from here. Whatever battle you are facing, you aren't the same.
Resolve to see 2025 for what it really was. Make a choice to see yourselves and His goodness clearly. Don't let the enemy draw you into the lies. For in the truth of His perfect plan is more peace than you can imagine.
As you stand here bewildered at what just happened in 2025, lift your hands! It's all part of His perfect plan that will continue to unfold over the months to come. Step in, not complaining but rejoicing with empty hands, ready to be filled with the goodness and favor of the Lord.
2025 had to happen. Now get ready as you step into the year the Lord has prepared you for.
"Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more." (John 15:2 ESV)
