God, as we mourn this significant loss, we know that he [Charlie Kirk] is in Your presence rejoicing. Help us to continue interceding and not lose heart, but be sober and watchful, praying more as evil increases, amen.
Founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, was murdered while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. These reports came as a shock. The Bible says we are to bear one another's burdens and weep with those who weep. Our hearts are heavy for the Kirk and TPUSA family. Please continue to intercede for his family, ministry, and our nation. Turning Point USA has produced excellent fruit and has helped young people across America find hope by defending our freedoms and Biblical values. We thank God for Charlie's faithful service to the Lord.
"Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord." (Matthew 25:23 NKJV)
Pray for Charlie's Family, Friends, and Turning Point USA
Pray for Erika Kirk, their children, their family, and their closest friends to be comforted by the Father.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)
Pray for the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit to be with them now.
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18 NIV)
Pray for Turning Point USA to continue and carry out Charlie's vision to reach and educate young adults across America with great boldness.
"And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to Your servants to continue to speak Your word with all boldness." (Acts 4:29 ESV)
Pray for College Campuses and Our Nation
Pray that more with zeal and a heart like Charlie Kirk to rise.
"And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, 'Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?' Elisha said, 'Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.'" (2 Kings 2:9 NKJV)
Pray against a spirit of fear that will likely be on college campuses, especially amongst Christian students.
Release the shalom of God that crushes the authority of satan over campuses across America.
"You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]." (Isaiah 26:3 AMP)
Pray that this tragedy will bring college students together in love, prayer, and unity.
"Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others]." (Colossians 3:14 AMP) (Photo via PickPik)
Pray for revival to spread across every college campus in America.
"O LORD, I have heard the report of You; I stand in awe, O LORD, of Your deeds. Revive them in these years; make them known in these years. In Your wrath, remember mercy!" (Habakkuk 3:2 BSB)
In the Bible, when God's people were martyred, He responded. When Paul was hunting down Christians and when Stephen was martyred, the Church grew exponentially, and the one hunting Christians, Saul, was converted and became a vessel for Christ.
Pray that God's will be done in America.
"And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28 BSB)
We Must Continue to Stand in the Gap
From the assassination attempts on President Trump, the killing of United Healthcare CEO, the violent murder of a Ukrainian refugee on a subway, to the recent school shootings in Colorado and Minnesota, violence against our law enforcement, and witches casting spells on our leaders, we must not give way to fear; we must continue to stand in the gap for those in authority.
"First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:1–4 BSB)
As we mourn what has happened to Charlie Kirk, many will celebrate this horrific assassination on social media, the same way they defended Luigi Mangione and the attempts on President Trump. Mainstream media will no doubt release pieces questioning his character. These people are blind, lost, and need Jesus.
Intercessors pray in the opposite spirit of the world, because we are in the world, but not of it. Witches are cursing our leaders, but we will bless them. They want fear, but we continue to confidently approach the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need. Do not be baited into fighting online or with family members who disagree with us. We are not called to curse those who curse us or repay evil with evil.
"Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord." (Romans 12:19 NKJV)
Pray for Our Leaders
As we go forward, continue to pray for our leaders at the national and state levels. Pray for ministries and leaders that are effectively reaching and transforming lives. Pray Psalm 91 over our leaders and the nation, speak His Word, and decree His promises of protection every day.
Pray our leaders will be physically protected and delivered from all evil. Ask the Lord to bless his family and ministry.
"If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home." (Psalm 91:9–10 NLT)
Pray for angelic intervention from all plots, plans, and spells.
"For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone." (Psalm 91:11–12 NLT)
Ask God to bless our leaders with deliverance and a long life.
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." (Psalm 91:14–16 NKJV)
Pray for the Light of Jesus to Shine on America
When darkness increases, it is not a time to shrink back in fear but to shine the light of Jesus Christ. We are the light of the world, and we are called to shine and glorify our Father. Arise and shine, Church, and let the glory of the Lord rise upon you. (Photo via Freerange Stock)
Pray for the light of Jesus to shine across America, as the name of Jesus is lifted and as Believers unify.
"In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it]." (John 1:4–5 AMPC)
There is so much hatred in this nation. Our only remedy for hatred is the love of Jesus.
Pray that we, as the Church, will be able to love one another and not let our hearts be tainted by bitterness, unforgiveness, envy, and fear.
"You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart." (1 Peter 1:22 NLT)
Pray that the love of God will strengthen us.
"I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:16–19 NIV)
Continue to intercede for America, our nation's leaders, revival, and justice.
"One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 'There was a judge in a certain city,' He said, 'who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, "Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy." The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, "I don't fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I'm going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!"'
"Then the Lord said, 'Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don't you think God will surely give justice to His chosen people who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will He find on the earth who have faith?'" (Luke 18:1–8 NLT)
Pray for thousands more intercessors to join the call to stand in the gap for this nation, and pray for Intercessors for America.
