"Bringing the Gospel to America's 'Off-Roading'
Community"
July 30, 2005
Guy Fredrick's idea of fun may seem strange to
some, admits Bryan Cribb of BPNews. Fredrick enjoys "breaking" his truck on rocks,
spinning his tires in several feet of sludge, and slipping, sliding and smashing
on deserted, impassable trails. For Fredrick, his weekend off-roading jaunts are
not only his hobby, they have become a means of reaching an unreached people group
-- the unconventional "off-roading" community of America . . .

Kim Clement:
"Did You Know Jesus Was at His Most 'Powerful' When He Spent Time with the Devil?"

CREATIVE
TRUTH
Do you know when Jesus was at His most powerful? When He spent time with the Devil!
If you spend some time with adversity or trouble, and you overcome it, you will
be your most effective. You have to see trouble and adversity in a different light.
It's the power of creative truth that exists in your faith.
Ephesians 3:20 -
"He is well able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or imagine,
according to the power that works in us."
"The truth in the tomb is not as powerful
as the truth in the womb." - Kim Clement
There are two levels of truth: truth that has been established and truth that has
not yet been established. Truth that hasn't matured or grown, it's still somewhere
out there. When I use the word truth, I mean the discovery of truth. The fact that
you know there is something in your life that you are about to step into, but it
has not been born yet. That is a most powerful thing. There is an element of the
unknown that must exist in your life.
You need to understand that man becomes greatly frustrated when he doesn't know
what is going to happen next. People get angry when they don't know what to expect.
If you knew exactly what was going to happen in your life, it would be really boring.
You would get things out of the way, or find a way out of things. God only shares
certain things with you and leads you in the darkness (or the unknown); but if He
leads you in the dark it's because He doesn't want you to know everything yet. There
is a treasure in darkness -- and most will think that what I'm saying is crazy --
but when you are in the dark, you are at your highest level of faith.
"FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT
BY SIGHT"
When I say darkness, I don't mean the darkness of sin, but rather where you are
unable to see -- a place of the unknown. When you are stumbling in a dark place,
it is one of the most powerful places to be (as much as I hate it). There is nothing
as powerful, and yet frustrating at the same time, as being in a dark place. We
may see a glimpse of the future, but we don't know the details. God won't give us
the details, because if we knew them we would have no need for faith and we know
that "without faith it is impossible to please Him."
Hebrews 11:6 -
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him . . . "
If you knew exactly what was going to happen
in your life, and you had all the light in the world, you would have no faith
to please Him.
II Corinthians 5:7 -
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
When I walk out into a crowd and prophesy over
people, I don't know anything about them. To me this is the most dangerous place
to be, but it's also the most incredible, powerful place to be, because my faith
is at its highest; my faith is disturbed, my faith is agitated. I love it when God
agitates me to the point that a faith, which is unborn, suddenly begins a quickening
process.
Do you realize that you have a faith inside of you that has not yet been born? The
quickening begins to take place when God pushes you to draw into that well of faith.
Your unknown place is a good place. I get so many phone calls from people asking
me to just tell them what God is doing in their lives, but I will usually tell them
that I don't know either, He hasn't shared it with me because He doesn't want
you to know yet. He wants faith to operate so you can take a hold of something
that He knows you can handle, and then He begins to release you into a new level.
When God spoke to Abraham, He told him to get out of his country and his father's
house. Abraham obeyed God, he went where God told him to go, and he is credited
with the name that means "father of faith."
Abraham didn't know where he was going, but he
knew something great was about to take place. Faith without works is dead; "tomb"
faith is not enough, and it goes through a continual process of being resurrected
in every generation. When there is truth established in a generation, usually it
lives and then it is buried temporarily by dogma and creed. They put walls around
truth and the next generation discovers it and brings it back to life with a double
portion value upon it. But there is always the prophetic within a generation, a
people who are not satisfied with living and eating bread alone.
They are not satisfied with bread that has already
been made; they want some bread that is out of the Father's mouth. People get tired
of hearing the established truth repeated, perfected by preachers who have many
times added their own "ideas" and "personal convictions" to "make it work," thereby
destroying the incentive within each person to activate faith. Even though established
faith and truth is important, creative truth will bring you to a place where faith
will come forth.
WHAT ABOUT THIS FRUSTRATING
THING CALLED PROPHESYING?
What about this frustrating thing called prophesying? The Bible says that all may
prophesy:
I Corinthians 14:24 -
"But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed
person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all."
I Corinthians 14:31 - "For you can all prophesy one by
one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged."
Everyone has a level of perception and insight:
the ability to see further than your nose. It's a great place -- a dreamer's world.
But when God speaks to you, it's His way of giving you faith for something that
hasn't happened yet: prophetic faith. It hasn't happened yet, but you've got the
faith for it.
You can take a hold of a word from God, and He'll
give you faith before it actually happens, so that when you arrive there you don't
have to dig for some element of faith to get it going; you've already got it --
you've already dreamed it and lived it. I'm talking about an existence inside of
you that you've felt -- you think about it every morning and night. Why? Because
God wants you to dream it, so that the faith that you have, at this point in time,
will possess it.
Prophecy (or God speaking to us) is God's way of giving us faith for something that
hasn't happened yet. It hasn't happened on earth or in your life, but the word
comes forth. You are granted a level of faith and it comes out of the womb.
You can read the Bible as much as you like and
look in the Word. You can say, "The Word is giving me faith"; but you have your
own dimension of faith that you have to possess yourself. When the prophetic word
comes, God wants you to have faith there before it actually happens. Reading the
Word will give you the wisdom to apply a principal that must work in your life and
time on this earth.
LEARNING TO RECOGNIZE THE FORM
OF THE LORD
God visited Abraham in the form of three beings:
Genesis 18:1-3 -
"Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting
in the tent door in the heat of the day. 2. So he lifted his
eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them,
he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the ground
3. and said, 'My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight,
do not pass on by Your servant . . . '"
Abraham recognized God and greeted Him accordingly
by calling them "My Lord" (18:3). Do you know what God looks like?
He may be in a rock giving water; He may be in a bush giving fire. But if you know
that He is there, then you'll camp around that fire until it becomes ashes, but
then it's time to move on.
Most of the revivals that have taken place in the past have become a heap of ashes.
People are gathered around the ashes trying to bring fire from them. Why don't you
just move to Egypt? That's where the fire is. It is no longer in the burning bush,
it is now in Egypt. Once Moses had heard God's voice and His instructions through
the fire in the bush, he was required to go to Egypt and deliver the Children of
Israel from the oppressors.
Eventually, God would lead them by a pillar of
cloud and a pillar of fire, but until Moses left the fire on the mountain, he would
never experience the fire of direction and light that would lead them from the past
into the Promised Land.
Exodus 13:21 - "And
the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night
in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night."
If your revival has done nothing else than communicate
God's voice to you to lead you to another place, then it has not been in vain. If
your revival gave you thrills, chills, and bills then it is no longer filled with
fire, but is now ashes. People are not afraid of ashes, they are afraid of fire
-- they are moved by fire.
There have been great revivals over the centuries
and, specifically, during the 20th Century beginning in Azusa Street, California,
and continuing until the end of that century. However, if the revival has become
ashes don't try to bring that thing back to life. Move on!! Something else has to
transpire now. Find the same fire in a different place and in a different form.
God is sending us to the marketplace. God is telling us that we have no choice.
It is no longer in your church meetings alone, no longer in that place of safety.
Until you get to Egypt, you aren't going to see, hear, or know any fire; you must
be challenged.
Are you ready to go to Egypt?
Faith only works when common sense makes no sense,
when reason is unreasonable, when formulas don't formulate, and calculations don't
calculate. You're in the dark and you think God is not speaking anymore. What about
the silent years? What has He deposited in you?
Now you must reproduce -- talents that were once
five must become ten.
When Abraham stood before the angel of God, he
offered Him water and bread and then a choice calf. He did this because he "perceived"
that it was God who was visiting his house.
WHEN GOD VISITS
Genesis 18:4-9 -
"'Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves
under the tree. 5. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that
you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come
to your servant.' They said, 'Do as you have said.' 6. So
Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, 'Quickly, make ready three measures
of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.' 7. And Abraham ran
to the heard, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened
to prepare it. 8. So he took butter and milk and the calf,
which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree
as they ate. 9.Then they said to him, 'Where is Sarah your
wife?' So he said, 'Here in the tent.'"
Abraham increased his offering because he wanted
God to stay and deposit something in his home. Abraham was not satisfied with a
VISITATION -- he wanted a HABITATION.
A visitation is not enough. Abraham knew a time
was coming where his promise had to be born, and he gave an offering; he offered
the best that he had. The angel (God) remained there, and then He said, "Go get
your wife!" God made the visitation a habitation by giving him the promise of a
son who would be born at the "time of life."
Genesis 18:10 - "And
He said, 'I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold,
Sarah your wife shall have a son . . . '"
When God stays long enough, He leaves something
that will be born in your house -- in Abraham's case, a nation was born. There could
be a nation that is inside of you waiting for God's presence to predict the timing
of the great birth. Don't be happy with visitation only.
"YOUR RESPONSE TO GOD MATTERS"
Luke 19:41-44 - "Now
as He drew near; He saw the city and wept over it, 42. saying,
'If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for
your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43. For
days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround
you and close you in on every side, 44. and level you, and
your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone
upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."
Visitation, or Episcope in Greek,
means "INSPECTION; or TO INSPECT." This suggests that God comes to inspect and see
if you are prepared and ready for something greater in your life. When Jesus looked
at Jerusalem, He wept first and then said,
"YOU DID NOT KNOW THE TIME OF YOUR VISITATION" -- or, you've missed
the time of your inspection. Because of this, your children shall be trod under
by your enemy."
During a time of visitation, your response to
God matters. During a time of inspection, God looks and rewards you accordingly
when He returns. During a visitation, your circumstances may not be good, so don't
measure a visitation according to your circumstances or your economy. Jerusalem
was not in a good way when Jesus came to "inspect" them.
A visitation has taken place over the United States of America. The great fires
that came through Canada, Florida, and the West Coast, starting at the turn of the
last century, were the visitations that brought what was due to this generation.
Those fires have come to an end; there are no longer going to be fires like that
in church revivals for a long period, but there will be GREATER PORTIONS and God
will come into your house and He will bless your family. The fire has moved its
position into the marketplace. God says that you will find Him in the media and
the marketplace, and in places that He has raised up. If you want to feel that fire
again, you will have to go into the marketplace.
Don't look for it only in your church, it has moved into the Nation.
