A Word through Catherine Brown, Scotland CBrownds1@aol.com Sent: Saturday, September 25, 1999
Here is the piece I have been waiting on before the Lord for some months now. I have the release to post it to you now. This is for the first day of Sukkoth (today 25 September 1999)
K'NESSET - THE PLACE OF ASSEMBLY A VISION AND WORD FOR ISRAEL AND ALSO FOR THE CHURCH
"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. For the former things are passed away." Rev 21:3-4
While in prayer for Israel, I received a vision of a large white stone building with a triangular roof bearing the name 'K'nesset'; This was white in color and had two main supporting frontal columns that formed the entrance way. These columns were extremely strong and robust in their construction and each had a name inscribed on them. Behind these two columns were seven lesser columns. The frontage boasted a magnificent set of steps, and the building was Greek in style in its overall design.
The structure began to shake as though a huge earth tremor was passing under its foundations. The two front pillars stood immovable during this shaking. The lesser columns, however, crumbled and began to collapse and the stairs were split and cracked wide open.
THE FEAST OF SUKKOTH (Tabernacles/Shelters)
The Spirit instructed me that this vision has direct correlation to the Feast of Sukkoth (Tabernacles/shelters). [In Biblical Day]During this time, the children of Israel lived in temporary dwellings, celebrating Yahweh's provision for them through forty years in the wilderness, and rejoiced over the end of four hundred years of slavery to the Egyptians. The desert period is a reminder of God's sheltering presence and His sustenance. God remembers a generation that trusted in Him and was willing to leave Egypt to follow Him into the desert. The festival of Sukkoth is about remembering our vulnerability and dependency on God.
HELD AT HARVEST TIME
It is held at the ingathering of the Harvest, the time of firstfruits - a time to rejoice and give thanks for the rains. The Feast of Tabernacles will be celebrated this year on 25 September 1999.
The festival lasts for 7 days and on the final day of the Feast, the people of God are commanded to come and be joyful before Him. (Lev 23:40).
As a sign of gratitude for the rains, the priest would pour out water from golden pitchers over the altar that had been taken from the pool of Siloam to the temple. Isaiah 12:1-3 would be recited.
"In that day you will say: I will praise you, O Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation"
During the Feast of Tabernacles Jesus proclaimed that He was the fountain from which living waters flowed, as a sign to the people that He was the awaited Messiah.
"IF ANYONE IS THIRSTY, LET HIM COME TO ME AND DRINK"
"On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified." Jn 7:37-40
The Feast points to the joy of salvation. Every seven years Sukkoth was also the occasion for the ceremony of hak'heil - the public reading of the Torah before the whole people (Deut 31:1-13). Each day of Sukkoth, the hoshanot are recited during the morning service. These are hymns that begin with the words 'hosha na' which means 'save us'. One is recited each day a circuit is made of the synagogue. Hoshanot recalls the procession in the temple, which was done around the altar. Today, this serves as a prophetic reminder to continue to intercede for all Israel and the nations of the earth to be saved.
INTERPRETATIONS OF THE VISION:
THE TABERNACLE OF THE LORD
The building bearing the name 'K'nesset (meaning 'place of assembly') is a reference to the believer as a living temple and serves to remind both Jew and Gentile that our only true dwelling place is in the Lord's sheltering Presence. He desires that we tabernacle with Him, for He alone is our refuge.
"For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said, "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 2 Cor 6:16
THE PILLARS OF THE TEMPLE
The two front columns of the building bore the names Jakin and Boaz. These represent the security of those who establish their tabernacle in the Lord, in His strength and mercy.
"He [Solomon] erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillar to the south he named Jakin [he establishes] and the one to the north Boaz [in him is strength]." 1 Kings 7:21
The shaking of the building speaks of the righteous judgements of the Lord being released at His appointed time, and the removal of that which stands in opposition to His known Will and Word. The crumbling steps speak of exposure of sin and our nakedness before God.
"You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge uprightly. When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm." Selah Ps 75:2,3
"And do not go up to my altar on steps, lest your nakedness be exposed on it." Ex 20:26
FALSE PEACE
The building was colored white. This speaks of a false peace that will be offered to the people of Israel. This will come through political sources and will involve negotiations over the land of Israel. The building being Greek in its overall design is symbolic of the spirit of the world (humanism). The shaking further speaks of liberation of the Lord's people from this ancient theological influence.
"Because they led my people astray, saying "Peace", when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash, therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth. When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, "Where is the whitewash you covered it with?" Ez 13:10-12
PROPHECY
"Turn to me O Y'Israel, turn to Your Father and be restored. Let the world declare to the children of Y'Israel that her days of hard labor will soon be over and she will receive a double portion from the Father. Turn to Me O Y'Israel and know that I am God and there is none like Me. See I have sent the former rains for you, and the latter harvest rains are yet to come. These shall quench the land and quench your thirsty souls. See My Son, who has poured out His Life for you, whom I declare to be the Fountain of Living Water."
"Turn to Me, O Y'Israel and be saved, take up your inheritance and tabernacle in the House of the Lord where I have commanded that you be joyful. My Shekinah wings are the only true dwelling place for My people. You must turn to your Father and depend on Him; see My Right Arm is raised to vindicate you before the nations of the earth, and there are none that can oppose Me, for the Blood of My Son eternally seals My decrees and my covenants. You have been purchased as Sons of the most High and your days of slavery are at an end. See the Tabernacle of Love I have prepared for you. Lay down your self-sufficiency; remember how I led you through the wilderness. Turn to Me, O Y'Israel and see the Promised Land." Amen
"Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you. I have swept away your offences like a cloud, Your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you. "Sing for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done this; Shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forest and all your trees, For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, He displays his glory in Israel." Is 44:21-23
