IT'S TIME FOR THE MATURE PROPHETS TO STEP FORWARD

Note from Steve Shultz, Publisher, THE ELIJAH LIST
Just as prophetic intercessors are often asked by the Lord to deliver their intercessions and prophesy into the heavens, alone--and not in the midst of the congregation,--so too do the mature prophets approach the Word of the Lord in like manner.
They have learned through the "school of the prophets" that if God says to prophesy, then it matters not if He, the Lord is the only one listening. Would you be willing to prophesy, only in the hearing of the Lord, and let Him decide how to use it, ---even if it appears He doesn't use it at all?
IT'S TIME FOR THE MATURE PROPHETS TO STEP FORWARD

On 2/1/96 I had this dream:
There was a meeting where a large number of people were gathered and were, one by one, standing and giving what they felt was the word of the Lord. It was almost like a competition to see who could give the hottest word.
Their words coming forth were mostly uninspiring until one man stood up and said: "It's time for the mature prophets to step forward. Learn from David's mighty men who risked their lives to get a drink of water for their king, David. When they returned, they gave their king the water to drink and watched him pour it out on the ground."
2 Sam 23:14-17 At that time David was in the stronghold, and the Philistine garrison was at Bethlehem. David longed for water and said, "Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!" So the three mighty men broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out before the LORD. "Far be it from me, O LORD, to do this!" he said. "Is it not the blood of men who went at the risk of their lives?" And David would not drink it. Such were the exploits of the three mighty men.
INTERPRETATION:
There must be radical pursuit of Jesus to get the pure word of the Lord. Mature prophets are so in love with Jesus and submitted to His Lordship, that they are willing to see the word come back into His hand after receiving it.
They won't care whether it is used or simply poured out on the ground (not used) as an offering to the Lord. Words received and given from such a heart of obedience give more life and blessing than those presumptuously spoken.
