The other day, I read the following quote from a recent word by Barry Wunsch: "God promised never to flood the earth again, but He never promised there wouldn't be a perfect storm." I had heard this term, "perfect storm," before I even read his word, and even put it in my notes on my phone.
Batten Down the Hatches and Tighten Your Tent Pegs!
On September 13, 2023, I had a visitation and encounter with the Lord from 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. In this encounter, at 3:00 a.m., I heard in the spirit, "I hear the sound of thunder and see lightning flashes on the horizon."
In the spirit, I literally saw Elijah sending his servant to check for rain, and then, on the seventh time, I watched as the servant discovered a cloud the size of a fist (1 Kings 18:41-45).
Then the Lord said to me, "BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES."
This phrase originated in the Navy. When a storm would come, the sailors would fasten down canvas over the doorways. The doorways were called "hatches." They would fasten the canvas with wood strips called "BATTENS."
This is what I feel like this means for us: PREPARE FOR A CHALLENGING SITUATION. IT IS IMMINENT. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO PROTECT YOURSELF. PULL IN AND TRUST GOD.
Then I heard, "TIGHTEN YOUR TENT PEGS."
On Monday, September 11, 2023, at Pray Nashville (an organized movement to pray in unity over Nashville, Tennessee and the surrounding area), those of us who had signed up to be spiritual gatekeepers in the region were given gift bags. One of the items in the gift bags was a tent peg.
"Enlarge the site of your tent [to make room for more children]; stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not spare them; lengthen your tent ropes and make your pegs (stakes) firm [in the ground]." (Isaiah 54:2)
If a storm is coming, you'll want to tighten your tent pegs so that you don't blow away, and so you can make your tent bigger! Don't think small. Tent pegs are symbolic of things that join and strengthen.
Then the Lord said, "When you drive your tent pegs deep into the ground, this will bring the gushing of the oil."
Also, I was reminded that when I shared a word about the former and latter rains a few weeks prior, I had quoted Zechariah 10. Verse 1 says, "Ask of the Lord rain in the time of the latter or spring rain. It is the Lord Who makes lightnings which usher in the rain and give men showers, and grass to everyone in the field." In verse 4 we read, "Out of him [Judah] shall come forth the Cornerstone, out of him the tent peg, out of him the battle bow; every ruler shall proceed from him." It says, "...out of him the TENT PEG..." THIS IS JESUS! He is the Tent Peg!
The Oil of Anointing, the Fresh Oil, and the Oil of Unity
A few weeks ago, I had a vision during worship of oil pouring down the steps from the stage, then I saw myself driving a sword into the ground and oil gushed out. Immediately, the thick, sticky oil began coming out of my palms. I've literally gotten this oil on my palms every Sunday since. Others are getting it as well. (Photo via Piqsels)
OIL represents ANOINTING and THE HOLY SPIRIT. We also find in the Bible, many times, the words "FRESH OIL" OR "NEW WINE." In the days of the Bible, fresh olive oil, the produce of the land, and the stores were a sign of provision and prosperity.
Then I heard, "The oil pouring down Aaron's beard." Most of us know Psalm 133; it is about UNITY: "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil [of consecration] poured on the head, coming down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron, coming down upon the edge of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body]. It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows His blessing,
even life forevermore."
When the high priest Aaron was anointed, the oil was poured over his head. It then rolled down onto his beard, and then, eventually, onto his breastplate, which had a stone for each of the 12 tribes. The Lord told me these stones also represent the past, present and future. We are represented in those stones.
Unity was God's gift to the people given through the mediation of the HIGH PRIEST. Today, with the New Covenant, God has poured out His Spirit (or the OIL) on the head of the Church, which is JESUS. Oil flows from the HEAD onto the BODY, which is His Church. God has said He is giving us, His Body, the FRESH OIL.
So the Lord is highlighting the OIL OF ANOINTING (THE HOLY SPIRIT), THE FRESH OIL (OR THE NEW THING), AND THE OIL OF UNITY. Unity is mandatory in this season, which is why we need to be alert and aware of the enemy trying to bring conflict to destroy our unity.
I Hear the Wind
Then I heard, "I HEAR THE WIND." The Lord said that it was NOT a straight-line wind, but it was a swirling wind, a funnel cloud, a whirlwind. He said that a straight-line wind SCATTERS; a swirling wind GATHERS.
The phrase "MIGHTY RUSHING WIND" came to mind, which appears in Acts 2:2: "Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from Heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting." And Job 38:1 and 40:6 describe God's voice coming out of a whirlwind: "Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind..." Elijah was also taken to Heaven in a whirlwind in 2 Kings 2:11: "Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into Heaven."
God said, "The whirlwind may be scary, and even create difficulty in many ways, but I will ANSWER out of the whirlwind. Through it, I will GATHER the people to Myself."
The WHIRLWIND will bring His Spirit in POWER. I HEARD, "DUNAMIS POWER."
Then I heard, "THE DOMINO EFFECT." This is where one successive event leads to another pretty quickly. I believe this will be the case in the natural and in the spirit.
I'm Giving You Your Marching Orders! Feel the Shift?
Then I saw an army encamped in unity, waiting. The Lord said, "I'M GIVING YOU YOUR MARCHING ORDERS! FEEL THE SHIFT?"
Almost immediately after I had this encounter, I noticed that many others were hearing the word "SHIFT." Marching orders are "a command or direction to advance, progress, or move on." We are to listen to His voice right now. Many are prophesying and speaking into the new season we are coming into, but we must discern which ones are His voice. (Photo via Wallpaper Flare)
"The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages [to all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed]. And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand." (John 10:27-28)
Red Cross Trucks
Immediately after I saw the army, I saw RED CROSS trucks bringing help and provision.
In 1859, a Swiss man named Henry Dunant was traveling in Italy and witnessed the aftermath of a battle. After experiencing this, he established what is now known as the Red Cross (or the International Red Cross). Clara Barton, who founded the American Red Cross, began delivering food and supplies to soldiers on the front lines during the Civil War in 1861. Of course, for many Believers today, the "Red Cross" symbolizes God/Jesus as our Rescuer, Jesus on the Cross, His promises, and His Blood shed for us... He will bring us whatever help we need in this upcoming battle.
How to Prepare for the Perfect Storm
SO WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN? In summary, there is a whirlwind coming...a perfect storm. God is IN IT, even though these are trying times. IT IS HIS PLAN. It is what has to happen for His purposes to be accomplished on the earth. He will PROVIDE during these times, and we are to trust in Him, no matter what our circumstances look like. He will bring provision in a supernatural way. Things will happen like dominoes, one after the other. We will see a greater increase in His glory than ever before, and He will gather people to Himself.
It may look like we are in a war zone, but He is giving us our marching orders and instructing us. LISTEN FOR HIS VOICE! Like the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25, we need to be wise, and be prepared. The enemy will try to bring us into fear and cause us to make unwise decisions. STAY CLOSE TO THE BODY! WE ARE GOING TO NEED EACH OTHER AND OUR COVERING MORE THAN EVER BEFORE! Be keen to the enemy's attempts to throw us off track.
There is a shift occurring NOW. Can you feel it? I've used the word "shift" many times. I've also said "FRESH WIND" many times.
Let's be asking the Lord what is required of us to batten down the hatches so we can prepare for the perfect storm. We need to be praying like never before. As a part of battening down the hatches, He also said to TIGHTEN and SECURE our tent pegs. This is for our homes and our churches. I also handed out literal tent pegs at my church, The Fire Church, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on a recent Sunday. We drove them in the ground, symbolically!
We are saying YES to enlarging our territory, preparing for MORE CHILDREN, and for those He will gather. He has spoken a lot about unity, and not only to me! That's because unity is very important right now. He wants His Church, His Body, UNIFIED to be able to stand!
