2 Corinthians 13:1 says, "...By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."

I often think of this verse whenever numerous people share the same Scripture with me, or whenever I hear two or three preachers preaching on the exact same subject. I tune in and pay attention.

It's Time to Build Our Faith

The other weekend was one of those times. I was listening to sermons online, only to discover several men and women of God were teaching and preaching on the same subject: It's time to build our faith.

The first time I heard this, I knew it was a key to this season of outpouring that is coming upon us. It's time to build up our faith. After hearing it several times, I now felt strongly that it was what God is speaking to the Body of Christ in this hour.

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Photo via Unsplash)

Faith is a necessity, not only in pleasing God, but also in obtaining the promises of God.

In the past few years, for some of us, circumstances have taken a toll on our faith. It's difficult to remain in faith when we are weary from a prolonged battle that we have been walking through.

It's much like when our immune system becomes compromised. When that happens, it's hard to fight off sickness, the flu, and whatever else is going around. I remember when the kids were in school one year; every other week they were sick with something. They had the flu several times, strep throat, and a stomach virus. Whatever they caught, it spread through our household. After months of this, my immune system had taken a hit, and I couldn't shake the flu. It took me several weeks to get over it. Once I healed, it took time to build my immune system back up again.

Just as I needed time to build up my immune system again, so it is with our faith. If our faith has taken a hit, we must take the time to build it back up.

Repairing Your Shield

This can happen in seasons like the one we are walking through right now – times of prolonged battles – or even through loss and disappointment. We are especially vulnerable when we become weary, either physically or spiritually. Faith is our shield. If that shield is damaged, we must take the time to repair it.

Faith is defined as believing God. It is also defined as drawing toward a thing. Therefore, when we release faith toward what God has for us, we draw toward it and draw it toward us. We can see through this definition how important it is that our faith is strong and intact.

How then do we increase our faith? Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."

We cannot have faith or increase our faith without hearing, reading, and meditating on the Word of God – consistently. The more we are in the Word of God, the more our faith will grow. The more our faith grows, the more we will be able to receive from God. (Photo via Unsplash)

I have learned in my life that there are times when my faith is not where it needs to be to receive what God has for me. In those times, God reminds me that I need to increase my capacity to receive; I need to increase my faith.

Each and every time He has told me this, I get excited. Why? Because I know He has something for me, something bigger than I have faith for in the moment. However, thank GOD I have the ability and the resources to increase my faith. It is entirely up to me. There are no limits in God. He is ready and willing to fulfill His promises. The question is, can we receive them? Is our capacity to receive equal to what He has for us?

Today, if you feel God has something big for you, increase your faith! Increase your capacity to receive. If your faith has taken a hit, repair it. Get in the Word of God more than ever and build your faith. Listen to anointed preaching. Read the Word of God daily. Spend time worshiping God each week. All these things are beneficial to a life of faith. All these things are necessary for a life without limits in God.

It's time to lay hold of all God has for us – can we receive it? It's time to build our faith and increase our capacity to receive ALL God has for us. Begin today!
