Resurrection Life for Believers and Judgment for the Enemy
While I was in prayer for this month, crying before the Lord to know His heart for August (the eighth month), I was directed by His Spirit to ponder a little on the number eight. As I was beginning to seek this out, I heard the Holy Spirit say, "You are about to enter a unique month of resurrection, where My glory will overshadow you and stretch over you to resurrect what the enemy tried to kill."
I was then reminded that the resurrection of Jesus happened on the eighth day of the Jewish week, which is the first day of the new week – the day after the Sabbath. Thus the number eight biblically signifies resurrection power.
The Lord then showed me a picture of Elisha from 2 Kings, reflecting how the resurrection power of the Lord will stretch over His covenant people to release resurrection life. For some, it will be a month of resurrection.
"When Elisha arrived, the child was indeed dead, lying there on the prophet's bed. He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord. Then he lay down on the child's body, placing his mouth on the child's mouth, his eyes on the child's eyes, and his hands on the child's hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child's body began to grow warm again! Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!" (2 Kings 4:32-35 NLT)
The Lord specifically said, "Many try and declare resurrection over their dead promises and prophetic words, but tell them to 'stir up things' and 'walk back and forth,' and then re-stretch themselves again over dead situations. Speak resurrection in the month of August.
"As there will be a great resurrection of many things in Believers' lives, there will be destruction and death over the enemy. You need to declare that over the enemy as well!"
Both resurrection for God's people and judgment over their enemies are being released at the same time.
A Transference of Resources
"Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying, 'Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!'" (Ezekiel 26:2 NLT)
The transference of resources that have been stolen and taken by force shall be released in the month of August.
"Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am your enemy, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the waves of the sea crashing against your shoreline." (Ezekiel 26:3 NLT)
The Lord Himself will be fighting the battle on our behalf. We just need to get up and declare His promises and prophetic words to come through in the month of August.
A Fresh Beginning
I heard Him say, "You are about to close a chapter and start a new one. Do not look at the former things, or dwell on the past, for I am doing a new thing. As I restarted with eight people in the days of Noah, I'm renewing My covenant with many who will humbly come to Me and say, 'Here we are, Lord. We have missed the mark. Forgive us as we accept Your new covenant of fresh beginnings.'"
The Lord is restarting again with a new promises.
He said, "Many will despise the prophetic words of My prophetic, but it will be like in the days of Noah – he believed the Lord and went to work for 120 years without seeing the promise fulfilled. Only eight people were saved from the great flood, and that's one of the keys in the month of 'restarts.'"
A Time of Separation That Will Lead to Promotion
Jesus was offered to the temple on the eighth day for circumcision (separation covenant – see Luke 2:21), and so the number eight, in the Bible, is often connected to a new start – a fresh beginning. For the Jews in the Old Testament, circumcision (the spilling of blood) on the eighth day marked the beginning of a Jewish life. In the New Testament, after Christ's Blood was spilled on the Cross, the resurrection on the eighth day signifies hope and a new life for anyone who accepts His free gift of salvation. "'And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.'
"And God said to Abraham, 'As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring.'" (Genesis 17:8-12 ESV)
The Levitical Priesthood
In Leviticus chapter 8, the Lord directed Moses to instruct the priests to stay in the tabernacle courtyard at the entrance to the tent of meetings for seven days. They did this so that they could be made holy to institute the priestly system and be made ready for service. Then in Leviticus 9, after their promotion and 'sending,' they went on ahead to operate in their new priestly role.
I heard the Lord say, "Many will 'circumcise' (separate) their hearts to Me and My Kingdom in the month of August. As My priests in the Old Testament were consecrated for eight days and then commissioned to offer sacrifices before Me, many 'New Testament' priests will be released in the month of August to boldly enter the holy of holies before Me and offer spiritual sacrifices."
Peter's cry for the general Church – that we would be a holy, "circumcised" nation, a kingdom of priests – will be released in a greater measure in the month of August.
Supernatural Manifestations of God's Power and Love
The birth of the Church was on the eighth day of the week. It happened seven weeks (seven times seven equals 49) after Passover. On the 50th day, the Pentecost "outpouring" happened – seven Shabbats after Passover.
New wineskins are being prepared for those who have declared resurrection and separated themselves for the work of the Kingdom.
"And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins." (Mark 2:22 NLT)
The new wine will be poured on vessels who have been separated and are ready for the outpouring of new wine.
I heard the Lord say, "I will not pour out My Spirit into old wineskins. It will ruin them. It's because I love My children, I want them totally separated for My work, so I can use them like never before."
What Is Hidden Will Be Revealed
I heard God say, "For what is hidden will be revealed (Luke 8:17). I hide things for a season, but in this season, I will reveal them."
"For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light." (Luke 8:17 NKJV)
There are multiple dimensions to this verse. Many people think that the 'hidden things' in this Scripture are normally bad things which God reveals. But that's not what God is saying here. He is saying:
1. Hidden Identity Will Be Revealed
I heard the Lord say, "I hid you for a season, but I am getting ready to reveal you, like when I called Gideon."
"And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, 'The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.'" (Judges 6:12 ESV)

2. The Hidden Glory Will Be Revealed
I heard the Lord say, "I hid you for a season, but I am getting ready to reveal My glory to you and through you. The suffering you have endured qualified you to have a new dimension [of] My glory revealed in your life. The glory which will be revealed can never be compared to the suffering, the humiliation, and the loss you went through. What you went through qualified you for what you were about to receive."
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." (Romans 8:18 NKJV)
3. Hidden Favor Will Be Revealed
God is calling you to build the ruined walls – the ruined place. And although it seems very overwhelming and there is great opposition, God is releasing great favor, a supply of financial aid, and doing what can't be done in the natural. The Lord is raising up the Nehemiahs.
"Early the following spring, in the month of Nisan, during the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes' reign, I was serving the king his wine. I had never before appeared sad in his presence. So the king asked me, 'Why are you looking so sad? You don't look sick to me. You must be deeply troubled.'
"Then I was terrified, but I replied, 'Long live the king! How can I not be sad? For the city where my ancestors are buried is in ruins, and the gates have been destroyed by fire.'
"The king asked, 'Well, how can I help you?'
"With a prayer to the God of Heaven, I replied, 'If it please the king, and if you are pleased with me, your servant, send me to Judah to rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried.'
"...And the king granted these requests, because the gracious hand of God was on me." (Nehemiah 2:1-5, 8 NLT)
4. Hidden Treasures Revealed
"And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness – secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name." (Isaiah 45:3 NLT)
5. A Month of Taking Dominion and Completing the Work Is Being Revealed
Whatever you are trying to accomplish will be accomplished by God.
I heard the Lord said, "Marry My promises with prophetic numbers, and I will accomplish great things in your midst."
As Creation was completed in six days, the seventh day was the resting day, and then the next day was the first day of the first week of creation. On the eighth day, Adam and Eve were commissioned to occupy and posses the Kingdom, take dominion over all the animals of the field, and multiply and subdue all things under their God-given authority.
The Lord said, "So it shall be in the month of August: Greater dominion and authority will be released to those who are aligned to My prophetic words – those who are not just mere hearers of the Word, but doers of My Word."
6. Joy and Strength Will Be Revealed
I heard the Lord say, "My joy will be your strength; [this is] not a month of weeping."
"Then he said to them, 'Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'" (Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV)
Word of the Lord for August
Let me summarize in bullet point form what the Lord said to me about this month:
Resurrection and a New Chapter

• "You are about to close a chapter and start a new one. Do not look at the former things, or dwell on the past, for I am doing a new thing.
• "This is a time to cut your losses and move into the new – a time to embrace the new wineskin which I have prepared for you.
• "You are entering a season where hidden things are about to be revealed.
• "I have hid you for a season, but I am getting ready to reveal you – to set you onto the lampstand, for you were lit by Me.
• "I will reveal a hidden dimension of My glory and of My power in you and through you. For the glory which will be revealed cannot be compared to the suffering you endured.
• "What you went through, qualified you to receive what's coming.
A New Divide Is Coming
• "A clear divided is coming. I am separating the goats from the sheep, and marking a clear distinction between those who are Mine and those who are not.
• "Those who operate in the flesh will see things die, but those who [operate] by My Spirit will [see] a new resurrection to all things.
The Building Will Begin
• "I have called you to build and build and build – to build the ruined areas in your life and in your city.
• "I will give you grace and favor to build what the enemy tore down and destroyed.
• "Like Nehemiah, I will position you in close proximity to people of influence and give you great favor. I will finance you and make the impossible possible. For I channel the hearts of kings, as I channel streams of water.
• "Expect supernatural acceleration, despite all opposition, for the work will be done by Me.
• "Walk in union with Me, and experience the power of My arm lifting you and building through you.
• "Despite opposition, this is not a time to weep or be filled with sorrow. Rather, you will experience My joy and find new strength, for My joy will be your strength.
Special Protection
• "There will be special protection around you.
• "Although the beasts of the fields are raging around you, stay calm, for I have placed 1,000 shields of protection around you.
• "As the power of My resurrection is resurrecting you, judgment from the same dimension will be poured on your enemies.
• "What the enemy will call destruction, My people will see it as a blessing.
• "Those who laughed at your downfall and rejoiced in your suffering – I Myself will be against them, and will fight for you.
• "I am dealing with the demonic spirit of murder and hate that disguises itself as love. I am removing demonic strongholds which are comfortable in their seats. Their seats will be removed from under them, and they will see themselves falling to the ground.
Flames of Revival
• "This is not a month of sorrow, but of joy.
• "I will be loosing the spirit of praise and silencing the opposition.
• "My joy will be your strength."
• "Flames of revival will start to appear and shoot out like branches, yielding much fruit.
• "I am bringing you out of bondage and into freedom, not to eat manna but to receive your rightful inheritance."
