Just
like the Tsunami caused many organizations and groups of people to work together
in order to help those who were victimized by this disaster, so will this year ahead
of us cause many Christians to see the need of reaching out to each other to make
a difference in the world they live. This year will mean, for many, a year of great
shifts. The Lord is shifting and sifting, and the Tsunami we have had is only one
of more disasters that
will take place this year.
These disasters are not meant to cause fear,
but to wake us up and see how imminent the coming of the Lord really is. This is
a year of consecration and preparation, like Isaiah said:
"A VOICE OF ONE CALLING: 'IN THE DESERT PREPARE THE WAY
FOR THE LORD, MAKE STRAIGHT IN THE WILDERNESS A HIGHWAY FOR OUR GOD. EVERY VALLEY
SHALL BE RAISED UP, EVERY MOUNTAIN AND HILL MADE LOW. THE ROUGH GROUND SHALL BECOME
LEVEL, THE RUGGED PLACES A PLAIN. AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD WILL BE REVEALED, AND
ALL MANKIND TOGETHER WILL SEE IT.'" (Isaiah 40:3-5, NIV)
HOW DO WE GET READY?
This is a day of great urgency and significance, a day where things will not turn
back as usual. Many in the Body of Christ are acutely aware of transition, of the
shift that is happening. It takes place underneath the surface, but the effect will
be enormous. This is the time that has been spoken of before to help us to get ready
to catch the wave. How do we get ready? The Lord spoke to me three clear points:
Humility: Nothing is impossible when you maintain a heart of true humility.
He gives GREAT GRACE to the humble! Humility is also the key to intimacy with the
Lord.
Friendships: It is not about what we do, but who we are, and that will spill
out into our relationships. It is the very glue in the Kingdom! The Lord is calling
us to healthy relationships with each other in the fear of God.
Fervent prayer: The place of prayer will be the breeding ground of fruitful
activity in the Spirit. That which will be born of God will be of faith, for nothing
pleases the Lord so much as our faith. However, that faith is fertilized in the
fellowship with the living Word as we take time to listen and behold His faithfulness.
IT IS TIME TO RISE UP IN FAITH AND TAKE THE RISKS INVOLVED
TO TAKE OUR INHERITANCE
Walls that have divided us for a long time will fall; others will climb over walls
and see what truly is happening. The enemy has besieged large portions of the Body
of Christ mainly through fear . . . and so we have built walls around our churches and
organizations. This has caused a great famine in the cities that we represent.
There are those, though, that are outside of
these walls and structures. They have been kept by the Lord in all of their brokenness
and, although those within the walls thought little of them, they will play a major
role in seeing the cities unlocked and released! The Lord has been preparing this
large body in a place of isolation and is pouring out the oil of Gilead to bring
healing and restoration.
This is not the day to sit down in hopeless
despair, but to count the cost and realize that we are already dead to this world
and have got nothing to lose. It is the time rise up in faith and take the risks
involved to take our inheritance that rightfully belongs to the Body of Christ.
This is not a day of mourning, but a day in which we will see great shifts and that
will cause enormous levels of faith to literally sweep the Body into a glorious
phase.
