Ella Onakoya: "Angelic Assistance Is Being Released on the Earth Today!"

Angelic assistance is all around us...whether we notice it or not. After all, Scripture tells us, "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways" (Psalm 91:11).

I (Julie) was in Venice, Italy for my birthday earlier this month. As I was going over a canal bridge, I had to carry my luggage over many steps to get across. Just then, a couple of men helped me carry my luggage over...so I thought! Unbeknownst to me, they unzipped my backpack behind me as they carried over my luggage and tried to take my passport and wallet. When I got over the bridge, I thanked them and started walking. That's when I heard a voice behind me say, "Excuse me, you dropped this." I looked behind me and there was a beautiful Asian woman who handed me my passport. That's when I knew I was just pick-pocketed. My passport and wallet were in another zipper inside my backpack...so not only did they unzip my backpack, but they also unzipped another compartment inside it. They were that sly! However, a beautiful angel of the Lord handed me back my goods...just as I was celebrating my birthday!

God's angels do many things, such as guard us, protect us, bring us restoration and more...as they are on assignment from the Lord.

The Angel with the Sheathed Swords

Earlier this year, as I prayed, I saw a quick but vivid vision of a huge, white angel with huge wings. I wondered at its appearance, pondering and asking the Lord about this angel. A short while later, again as I prayed, I saw another another vision of the angel, but this time, my eyes were drawn to the sheathed swords that the angel held in his hands.

As I saw this vision, I heard the words "The battle is the Lord's." I believe battle-ready angels are being sent to stand guard, unsheathing their swords to war against the enemy on our behalf. I believe that we have entered a season where our Lord, and Captain of the hosts of Heaven named Jehovah Sabaoth, is sending forth and releasing His angelic army to fight battles on behalf of His people and nations.

This is a prophetic word of encouragement for many this year who are already feeling that their battle had been too heavy and lengthy, with no end in sight. Angels have been sent from Heaven to guard assignments and destinies, and to protect and encamp the saints of God, pushing off the army of darkness.

How to Partner with Angels

The angel I saw stood silent, watchfully vigilant, but seemed to be waiting for a command. There are several ways we are to partner with these powerful angels who have been sent on our behalf:

1. Angelic Activation through Obedience to Your Call

Several years ago, I was ministering at a church conference in the Netherlands when the Lord gave me a word for a young man who looked about 19. I told him the angels assigned to him by the Lord were waiting for him to step out in obedience to the call of God in his life, and that as he obeyed this call, they would be activated to partner with him and assist him in his call. He was not alone but had angels sent to serve the purposes of God on his life.

This young man wept profusely, telling me my words were a confirmation as the Lord had told him that often. My prophetic word to him had not only encouraged him, but it helped him to understand what he needed to do in order for the angelic to manifest in his life. Without his obedience, the angels could do nothing. He determined that night to step into what the Lord had called him to do!

Have you been called to fulfill a heavenly mandate or assignment? Be unafraid and step into all the Lord has for you, for you are not alone. Kingdom assignments that have been stalled will receive divine acceleration as the Lord's angels remove demonic obstructions blocking these assignments. At the Lord's command, these angelic beings will unsheathe their swords and fight on your behalf to enable you enter into your divine inheritance. (Photo via Unsplash)

2. Angelic Protection through Praying the Word

Divine intervention is being sent to stop accidents planned against the saints of God.

As the Lord has His array of warrior angels to fight on our behalf, so the kingdom of darkness has its assignments to cause destruction. One of the strategies of the enemy is to cause untimely death though accidents. Many accidents are not ordinary, but are, in fact, caused by various demonic spirits.

Last year whilst ministering in Nigeria, I was being driven in a vehicle to minister at an early morning church service when a car suddenly swerved in front of us, almost hitting our vehicle. In order to avoid the car, my driver swerved, and the sudden movement caused our car to bounce repeatedly, almost hitting the nearby bridge over the ocean. It looked as if it was inevitable that our car would crash into the water.

Suddenly, our car stopped as if an unseen angel had steadied it and moved it out of harm's way. We were stunned and so grateful to witness our miraculous salvation from that accident. We thanked God that His angel had steadied our car and removed demonic enemies that had been sent to cause that accident.

In order to partner with these angels that are sent to protect us from untimely accidents, I encourage you to pray Psalm 34:7 and Psalm 91:11-12, that an encampment of angels would surround you to protect and defend you.

3. Angelic Release through Living a Life of Purity

A life of purity in the fear of the Lord is important for the release of His angels.

Unsheathed Swords

In seasons of imminent attack, His holy angels will unsheathe their swords, ready to attack, with ferocity, the enemies of the Lord that have been sent against us.

Whilst ministering in France some years ago, I had just finished a fruitful but intense ministry trip and was staying in my translator's home. My translator, though a Believer, had parents who were not only unsaved but had a home filled with various occult charms and a witchdoctor amulet.

I had been invited to stay in her parents' home for the night, after we had ministered at various churches. The Lord then led me to minister the Gospel to her household, who all got saved. However, they still kept the various occult charms in their home because they did not yet understand how evil they were.

That night, I was led into the guest bedroom where I was to sleep. I saw a witch doctor amulet hanging on the wall of the room. The parents, in their own words, said the amulet had been given to them by a very wicked man! (Photo via Unsplash)

I laid on my bed, thinking in my heart that I did not feel like going into spiritual warfare against the forces of darkness which filled the room that night. I just wanted to rest, as I was so tired.

Suddenly, I felt a stillness and a sense of peace from the Lord. He opened my eyes to see an open vision of huge, flashing swords swiping in the air repeatedly. The Lord spoke to me saying that these were His warrior angels. I could not see their full form, only their huge swords flashing in the air. The Lord knew demonic forces had been released in the very place where I was going to sleep. He had gone ahead of me and prepared angels to defeat the onslaught of the enemy. This time, their swords were unsheathed as they advanced to destroy the enemy.

Dreams of Angels on Assignment

Over the years, I've had many dreams about angelic beings being released to fulfill diverse functions. I had a dream where I saw a huge angel guarding the gates to a great harvest, where the largest number of souls I had ever seen were waiting to be harvested.

I also had a dream where I saw angelic beings guarding a building in the United States, where high level weaponry was being kept—a base where nuclear weapons were kept. Far beyond the earthly security was the heavenly security being provided to protect this very important earthly assignment in the USA. How wonderful that the Lord has sent His angels to watch or guard over the security of the USA, for, indeed, unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain (see Psalm 127:1).

I've had dreams where angels were providing ways of escape from souls in danger, and many other dreams of angelic intervention. It is so clear that these angelic beings have been sent on our behalf to protect us and serve us/serve with us in many diverse ways.

The Battle Is the Lord's!

Friends, the battle this season may seem too heavy for you, with no end in sight. Be encouraged, there are many more who are for you than against you. His angelic army is on standby, ready to lift their swords, pierce through the darkness and release breakthrough.

May this be your season to overcome and experience breakthrough as the angels of the Lord are released to bring you into your rest, for the battle, indeed, is the Lord's.
