Former
EU Candidate Has Confirmed Plans to "Battle for Freedom of Christians" in Europe
December 2, 2004
Rocco Buttiglione, the Italian politician who was forced to withdraw as a candidate
for EU commissioner, has confirmed to the BBC that he plans to set up a Christian
coalition in Europe.
At the beginning of November, newspapers reported rumors that he planned to form
a religious lobby group to "battle for the freedom of Christians."
Senior aides to the Italian minister told the Sunday Telegraph that the new Christian
network would not take the form of a political party, but would be a kind of "movement
or association" committed to a greater role for Christian principles in public life.
They added that the political professor, who will remain in the Italian government,
was inspired by the role of Christian voters in the US Presidential election.

Dear
Elijah List Readers,
In the name of properly discerning another Believer's life (we like to call that
discernment because it sounds holier than to say we judged someone's life), we often
judge and spread rumors. Speaking rumors is one form of gossip, which of course
the LORD is very clearly against.
At times, because the information sounds interesting, Believers can take a fellow
Christian who is or was once caught in sin and heap layers upon layers of gossip
and judgment upon an already-wounded warrior.
It is this very thing that Jesus spoke about when he said:
(Notice all that is included IN CONTEXT with this passage)
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn,
and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will
be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured
to you." Luke 6:37-38 NIV
There is a spirit that operates many times in our lives and we don't even realize
we're allowing it in. It's a spirit of false judgment. Kathie Walters writes a book
that talks about this area called by the same name, THE SPIRIT OF FALSE JUDGMENT.
She appeared on the new Jim Bakker show where, for one of the few times, Jim publicly
clarified one such rumor which has circulated for years by fellow Christians. This
rumor, while just a piece of trivia, was nevertheless untrue...and it caused great
damage in the Body of Christ and was among the things that caused millions of dollars
in those years to stop being given to ALL CHURCHES.
Every ministry in the world, basically, was hurt...and hurt as much by this false
dog house report as by what was actually true.
Read this report by Kathie Walters with a certain sense of soberness, as I have,
to see where in your life you may yet be allowing a spirit of false judgment to
operate.
Blessings,
Steve Shultz

December
2, 2004 - A couple of weeks ago, I was in Branson, Missouri. I had some meetings
which were awesome! Sunday night, as I was speaking, people started sliding off
the seats and onto the floor, and it turned into a Holy Ghost wildfire meeting...so refreshing.
JIM BAKKER'S SHOW
Monday, I was on the Jim Bakker TV show. Jim's wife, Lori, is a sweetheart -- so
childlike and caring. Although I had all my books in my hands, I already knew what
book we were going to be talking about. I had seen, in a vision two years ago, Jim
Bakker holding a copy of my book Spirit of False Judgment.
Talk about sophisticated! The sound wouldn't work properly, then some kind of camera
started coming un-glued from the wall and nearly fell down on us! When that all
got put back in order, I spilled water all over the coffee table with my books
and Jim's Bible. So, while Jim and Lori were talking to the audience, people were
trying to mop up all the mess I had made and were lunging to rescue various objects.
By the time Jim and Lori came to the coffee table, things resembled some kind of
orderliness. I managed to wipe the water off of Jim's Bible, hoping he didn't notice.
Pastor Sheila Artt who was with me sat on the wet side of her skirt. Everyone
continued to be very sweet to me, even after causing such chaos. A couple of people
did give me sideways looks, but that's OK...they weren't used to me.
A GOD SETUP, AND HOW NOT TO JUDGE
Jim
and Lori read some scriptures, which, guess what? Went very nicely along with
The Spirit of False Judgment. It was truly a God set-up if ever I saw one.
I explained about God's way of judging and the ways we are NOT supposed to judge.
I explained about a situation I was in years ago, when the Lord was teaching me
about judging. It was said of Jesus "He will not judge by the hearing of the
ear or the seeing of the eye." Jesus also warned that the judgments we make
will return to us again. Pretty scary, if you ask me. I wonder if that could be
the cause of some of our problems? Ouch! When you judge someone, you put yourself
above them and withdraw grace. Then grace withdraws from you -- according to the
Bible anyway.
Matthew 7:1-4 "Judge not that you be not judged,
for what judgment you judge you will be judged; and with the measure you use it
will be measured back to you. Why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye
and do not consider the plank in your own eye?"
Or, "What goes around, comes around." (Kathie Walters version)
Years ago, when we were learning how, or rather, how not to judge, I learned a very
valuable lesson from Arthur Burt. Arthur lives in Wales and has been in the ministry
for over 60 years. He has been a "dad" to us for a long time...
THE SEEING OF THE EYE...
One time, when we were still living in England, we made a trip over to the east
coast of the United States. While in Georgia, we were ministering at some house
meetings. On the Saturday night, one of the elders from this house church group
took us to meet the pastor of a particular group where David (my husband) was preaching
on Sunday. We had not met this man before.
When we reached the house, the man of the house met us at the door and welcomed
us.
As I shook hands with the man at the door, I saw a spirit of adultery in his eyes.
I freaked out! My mind was spinning. I had a conversation with myself. A sure sign
of something amiss, but not too unusual for me.
We went on into the living room and there were several people there drinking coffee,
juice, etc. I was amazed to see my old friend, Arthur Burt, sitting on a chair drinking
orange juice. I tried to talk to him with my eyes. I must have looked really weird
trying to talk to him with my eyes -- I'm sure most of you have done that. "Arthur,
I can see this adultery spirit, can't you see it? Why don't you DO something? Maybe
Arthur is not as spiritual as I thought he was."
After a while, Arthur put down his orange juice and proceeded to give out a loud
"tongue" (spiritual gift). Then he gave the interpretation which went something
like this: "You have until this time tomorrow to uncover or be discovered by the
Spirit of God." There was a silence and then Arthur picked up his juice and resumed
his conversation with the person next to him.
I put myself "out."
When I got back to place where we were staying, I decided I needed to talk to the
Lord.
I asked Him about it.
"I couldn't use you, Kathie, because you already judged the man, when you SAW that
spirit."
Then I realized that Arthur had been around a long time and, yes, he must have
seen what I saw. But he didn't see until God told him -- understand? In other
words, he was detached personally from the word. The word was from God. Arthur
was just a vessel - a detached vessel. It was nothing to do with him personally.
The next afternoon -- and we had a really good morning meeting, by the way -- the
man with the adultery spirit took off with another lady and left his wife and family.
You see, the Word by the Spirit does its own work.
So, back to the TV show and the famous dog house.
THE AIR-CONDITIONED DOG HOUSE
Jim Bakker said, "I have only talked about this 2 or 3 times."
He asked the audience, "Who has heard about
the air-conditioned dog house?" Everyone there put their hands up. Truly, I don't
know anyone who DIDN'T hear about the dog house.
Jim went on to "confess" about the dog house. He said, "There was a man who bought
the dog house and took it on a trailer to the mall. He charged 50 cents for people
to see it. It was made of rough wood -- a small shed. Some people were mad. They
wanted their 50 cents back." (A Lot of laughter - Jim is funny; also prophetic!)
LOOTING THE TREE HOUSE
Jim was away in California, and in Charlotte the weather forecast said that it was
going to go below 20 degrees. Jim said they had 5 dogs -- a stray and two St. Bernards
their neighbor gave them, plus 2 more. The chief of security was worried about the
dogs, so he climbed the tree house that Jim built for the kids and took out the
little $99 heat/air conditioner and put it on the window of the dog house (shed).
It was there for a week.
End of story.
Let me ask you a question? What did you think when you read about the air conditioned
dog house? I know it was a while ago, but I bet you remember that story! If you
didn't, well, just pass this on to someone.
SEND THE CLOUDS AWAY
Wrong judgments can hinder you receiving grace for yourself and your own situations.
Your judgments come back to you, remember? They can be like a cloud hanging over
you.
NOW IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY
I believe God is getting ready to do some powerful things, even before Christmas.
But this needs to be gotten out of the way. This is your opportunity to release
people, ministries, churches, and people from judgments that you have made. You
aren't God, my friend, and you don't know the heart. We all do dumb things from
time to time -- and say dumb things -- but that doesn't mean people's hearts are
bad.
You have to extend grace, and then God will extend grace to you.
I think you need all the grace you can get -- I do anyway.
If you feel you have been judged, cut off that judgment; it can bring control in
your life which isn't right.
I hope you will watch the program on Monday and support Jim and Lori. You will have
to check your local listing for the new Jim Bakker Show.
The "Jim Bakker Show" I am on will be aired this Monday. (http://www.jimbakkershow.com)
Many blessings,
