Power of attorney (definition): A power of attorney gives broad powers to a person or organization (known as an agent or attorney-in-fact) to act on your behalf. The authority to act for another person in specified or all legal matters.
Men and women of God, YOU are the power of attorney; the redemptive right and spiritual authority to use the name of Jesus.
"Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14:12-14)
The Scriptures are full of verses that give us the red-letter words of Jesus, activating the power of attorney that you and I are to demonstrate in our daily lives. Jesus has given us the authority and power that is within His name to carry out the work of God throughout the entire world. Every value and worth that is within His name is ours.
Jesus gives us the assurance that when we pray, we pray in His name, and because of His name, there is an attentive response from the Father and the Son. It is the ultimate endorsement. When you ask of the Father in the name of Jesus, the Son Himself endorses your petition, and the Father responds. That's a powerful realization!
When we as Christians are willing to fully recognize our rights as sons and daughters of God, we can activate our full authority in the Kingdom. When you pray in the name of Jesus, you pray by His authority, and are not limited by your rights as mankind is. When you declare in the name of Jesus, it is the mark of approval from the Son, therefore positioning the Father to hear Him. When you are willing to decree by His authority, there is an automatic confidence and boldness that is marked with your words. And yet, it is much more than words spoken.
As followers of Christ, we are commanded (according to the Word of God) to use the name of Jesus for salvation, baptism, healing, preaching, miracles, appealing to others, faith, repentance, praise, gatherings, consecration, charity, singing, spiritual warfare and, ultimately, in all things. Granted, many of you who are reading this are stating the fact that every single time you pray, you pray using the name of Jesus. This isn't about prayer only. It's about every single aspect of your walk in Christ. Are you activating the authority and power in every step of faith? Do you regularly apply your power of attorney, or has it become the staple of how you end your prayers?
There is no special faith that is required to use the name of Jesus. You don't need to appear more spiritual than others. You don't need to pray louder, preach more often, or cast out more demons. However, you do need to learn to activate your power of attorney more than just over the blessing of the food. Granted, you need faith active in your relationship with the Lord. Faith is necessary in everything that we ask of God. However, there is no special faith that is required to use the name of Jesus.
When you study the Scriptures you can see how Jesus and the early Church used the power of God, showing all men how to ask and receive from the Father by the use of the power of attorney (the name of Jesus). The winning of souls is the harvest of the Kingdom. The power of attorney gives urgency for the activation to demonstrate the Kingdom of God with signs, wonders, and miracles. As a result, those who are without Christ as their Savior are open to receiving Christ simply because of the demonstration of the Gospel. Activation with demonstration produces the realization of God's glory.
Activating Your Power of Attorney
There is coming an hour where multitudes of individuals will recognize their faith in God, activate their power of attorney, and do great and mighty things in the name of Jesus.
As a Christian, the power of attorney gives you the authority to do the works of Christ, and greater works than He did. It opens everything up that God has promised...every need in this life and that which is to come. The danger we all are facing today is how little we see the activation of this authority. Many are trying to cast down demons, but they themselves are permitting much to happen for the sake of entertainment, cultural acceptance, and influential tolerance. We would rather partner with the world for the sake of fame rather than activate His name for the sake of salvation. Much of the modern Church doesn't want to hear it, but we must take a stand against every form of evil.
The enemy that hinders us must be resisted. You cannot command an enemy to flee that you find comfort in. Sons and daughters of God must understand that we are representatives of God, who take our place before the Father through His Son so that we can represent Jesus on the earth. We are not only the representation of the Son, but we are the manifestation of His Spirit upon the earth. We are called to rebuke, cast out demons, and heal the sick. We are in Christ, and Christ is in us. We have the right to legally represent Him on Earth.
The resurrection of Jesus guarantees the continuance of His name, His authority, His power, salvation, baptism, signs, wonders, and miracles. Every new birth, every prayer prayed, every answer to prayer, and each victory we obtain is the manifestation of His glory. One of the problems that hinders this reality is that we naturally crave the supernatural moves of God so much that we can easily be swayed by the counterfeit of the demonic. When we remove the power of God from our walk, we only have a form of godliness.
An outpouring of the Holy Spirit in any region will produce a revival of miracles, and yet, miracles cannot become the affection of our hearts. No man will ever be satisfied until they find the reality of God in their life, and with that should come the reality that He has not left you without power and authority to overcome. The name of Jesus represents justice, love, righteousness, holiness, peace, power, influence, joy, life, light, salvation, and all that is good. The truth for us all is that it is free and without limits for you and I to carry on the work of the Lord on the earth. You're not saved in order to maintain until you can be rescued. You have been given the full power of attorney to act in the place of God throughout the entire world. God desires for you and I to fully represent Him with the power and authority of Jesus.
The purpose of activating your power of attorney is to reveal and confirm the Word of God to all men...not to only speak of Christ, but to fully demonstrate the Kingdom. Whether in the marketplace, home, or any gathering, you have been given the authority to represent the fullness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
"And on that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
"These things I have spoken to you in figures of speech; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father. On that day you will ask in My name, and I am not saying to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father." (John 16:23-27)
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)
Activate your power of attorney! Pray, declare, decree, prophesy, cast out demons, heal the sick, overthrow, make disciples, and win the lost!
