"4 Keys to Faith for Your Breakthrough!"

I believe the Lord is releasing fresh faith to those who need a breakthrough. If it seems as though an attack of frustration has been launched against you, hear your Father say:

"That pressure will not rob you of your good portion! It cannot remove that which I have set in motion for you."

The Wall

You need a breakthrough when it's your time to move forward, but you come up against resistance! An obstacle looms on your horizon. You feel as though you are facing a wall... Today, if it seems as though you are facing a roadblock, let Joshua's example inspire you:

A gigantic city wall stood between Israel and their entrance to the Promised Land (Joshua 6). Meanwhile, a powerful enemy waited for them behind that wall. The situation looked dire, but as Joshua obeyed God that wall came crashing down.

The wall that is set before you cannot stand against you!

The Curtain

Sometimes, our difficulty is not tangible, like a wall. Instead, mystery shrouds the way ahead. We are facing a curtain that we cannot see through. In the book of Ruth, two widows—Naomi and Ruth—arrived in the town of Bethlehem with no knowledge of how God was going to provide for them. A mystery, a curtain, faced the women! But they were in the will of God. Naomi and Ruth began by working hard and accepting charity. And as they took small steps forward, miracles broke open and their destiny unfolded.

4 Keys to Faith for Breakthrough

So, what is the wall, or curtain, that you are facing today? Perhaps something specific is coming to mind. Let your faith be ignited by these 4 insights about God's timeline for breakthrough:

1. See the Foundation for Your Breakthrough in the Past

We tend to think about a breakthrough in terms of the "now" and the "future," i.e., the present problem and the future promise. But our first point of reference for breakthrough is in the past! We can look back to the Cross; there we see what Jesus has accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. In our timeline that is over 2,000 years ago! And right there in history is where we can see the source of our breakthrough. This is the position to pray and believe from. (Photo via Flickr)

"Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." (Colossians 2:15, NKJV)

We can look at the Cross and say that right there Jesus won our victory!

2. Look to God's Eternal Plans for You

There is another significant key to breakthrough...and it is that we can look even further backward—and forward—in the eternal realm! For Jesus is "...the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8; see also 1 Peter 1:19-20). And "...He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love" (Ephesians 1:4, NKJV).

Our breakthrough has been secured by Christ in the past, and not only that, God has also determined our breakthrough in the realm of eternity. This is true not only in general terms, but also for you personally. As the psalmist writes:

"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them." (Psalm 139:16, NKJV)

3. Know God Already Occupies Your Future

Whether a wall or a curtain faces you, here's a wonderful truth: God already occupies the other side. How can this be? Because while you dwell in time, He dwells in eternity! Your Father is already beyond that problem you face. He already occupies the other side. He is already in possession of your promise! And with the eye of faith, you can be with God in that place beyond the breakthrough—because it exists NOW in eternal reality. (Photo via Unsplash)

This is the prophetic realm, and this is what David understood when he looked at Goliath and prophesied his downfall (1 Samuel 17).

4. Take Hold of the Precedent for Your Breakthrough

Finally, here is another powerful key to stirring your faith for a breakthrough: A standing order for your breakthrough already exists in the heavenly places! God's Word is the heavenly precedent for your breakthrough. A precedent is something that goes before you, that is established as a guide and rule!

Today, your Father wants you to know that no enemy or argument can stand before the power and precedent of God's Word for your life.

The God of Breakthrough

Perhaps a problem stands between you and the promise of God. You realize that right now you need a breakthrough. God in His grace declares, "That which presses hard against you only serves to bring forth My strength in you."

It may be opposition or an obstacle. It could be a limitation or an impossibility. Perhaps it is a contradiction, or a logical reason! Today, take another look at that wall—that curtain. Take a deep breath and look upwards. Now ask, "If God is for me, who can be against me?" (Romans 8:31).

You can rely on the One who loves you.
