Open Doors
Recently, I sensed there has been a significant shift spiritually. Some new doors began to open for our ministry. Then, during the course of a casual conversation, an open door appeared, which led to a divine advancement into something the Lord had put on the hearts of my husband and myself for many years. As we prayed, the Lord led us to 1 Samuel 10:7 (KJV):
"And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee."
As we pressed into the biblical account, our faith was stirred as Holy Spirit began to speak. I believe the Lord wants others to receive this word and an impartation of faith to go forward.
In the original Hebrew language (Strong's Concordance), the phrase "let it be" means "present, appear or exist." The word "signs," here, means "a signal." The phrase "as the occasion serve thee" means "to come forth, appear, exist; to occur, meet or be present," and "open hand, power, means, direction, consecrate."
I heard by the Spirit this paraphrase: "When you perceive My signs, and agree to consent, the occasions into which you are sent are intended to be for your ascent. My open hand brings direction, means and power for all you need in every hour. Consecration and My anointing will provide all that is necessary for My appointing."
Many have prophesied that a great awakening, a birthing of a Kingdom movement, is upon us. It is time to move forward, knowing that what God has put on your heart will come to pass. The Lord has emphasized that this is not a "take the ball and run," type of "moving forward" in usual ways of religious operation; but a "moving forward" in faith and increased sensitivity to the moment, and a readiness to move as He leads. I heard the Lord say, "For this is the day and this is the hour that I am leading into divine encounters that will displace and destroy the works of the devourer. My people have been readied through pressing into My rest, and the new wine coming forth shall be seen as My best.
"You have been faithful in waiting, trusting My timing, and now I say, all is aligning and shall come forth through My designing. Watch and see as the steps unfold; My Spirit within you will make you bold as the signs appear as I have foretold. I am breathing new life into the dreams in your heart. Move forward into the course I chart, and you will be amazed at what I impart.
"Things are not as they seem on the surface, but for those with eyes of faith and sensitivity to My Spirit, the signs of My movement are known. As you do what is set before you, the way will become clear. I will part the waters as you step forward; I will bring the resources, and I will anoint you as I appoint you. For I AM the author and the finisher. All that you have been through is being turned to your good and My purposes, for My ways are higher, as are My thoughts. Stay in faith, the occasion is prepared to serve you! Watch as I open up doors before you to bring you into the land which I am giving you."
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV)
Divine Interruptions
Your "normal" occasions are leading to divine appointments. What seems like an interruption, inconvenience, a delay, a hindrance, even a loss, may actually be the setup for God to bring you into your next assignment.
In 1 Samuel chapters 9 and 10, Saul had been asked by his father to go look for asses that were lost. Saul and his servant traveled far and could not find them. His servant suggested that they go the seer Samuel to get wisdom on finding the asses. The servant had 1/4 of a shekel to give to Samuel; it was "at hand." Everything you need will be "at hand." Let the occasion serve you – go forward!
This led to Saul meeting with the prophet Samuel, being presented to leaders at a banquet as the next king, and receiving instructions that led to his being appointed and anointed.
Be encouraged, God is preparing you in your everyday life, and bringing about all that is needed to fulfill your destiny. Sometimes our sending comes through what seems like mishaps or problems to be dealt with. God caused the asses to be lost in order to have Saul sent out. I heard the Lord say, "What seems inconvenient is convening My movement. I am interrupting your days to show you My ways. Your 'happenstances' lead to divine advances. Move forward and do as the occasion serves you, for I am with you."
To the Faithful
Saul's heart toward his father caused him to be concerned that his father would be worried at how long they were gone, still not having found the asses. God used the prophet Samuel to ensure him not to worry; the asses were already found. God sees your heart and when you are faithful and obedient to what He sets before you; He takes care of the rest! "And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house?" (1 Samuel 9:20 KJV)
Many have been faithfully serving their families during this time of lockdowns and closures; others have experienced financial problems and had to take on other jobs, both which seemed to conflict with "ministry." You may be feeling the sharp disappointment of what seems delayed or even denied. Lift up your eyes and see – the Lord has been using you all along. He has seen your willingness and your heart's desire for Him in the midst of it all, and the tables are turning.
I hear the Lord saying, "I am outside of time and I created time for My purposes. You have not 'lost' time during these recent trials. I have been building up a reservoir of inner strength as you have been patient in continuous well-doing at what has been set before you. I chose Moses because I knew he would be faithful to all My household (family).
"You have been faithful in the little and much more is being added. It is not your attendance at meetings and events that I value, it is your attending to My presence in your everyday life as the occasion serves. Continue to be faithful in all that is set before you. My anointing and favor will supply all you need in days ahead. I AM with you; do as occasion serves you and watch the unfolding. Much has been sifted, the season has shifted, the curtain has lifted – move forward!"
