A Note From
Steve Shultz: |
I
couldn't believe it when I read that a Network TV reporter prophesied to my
friend, Geoff, when he was interviewed regarding slave-trade reconciliation,
"Next Stop, New Orleans." The reporter didn't know it was a prophetic
proclamation.
I love to see God's handiwork and seeing God's Voice FLY out of the mouth of
people who probably don't even think they can hear God's Voice.
Check out this story. . .
Some people write from time to time and say, "I'm not going to read these
prophetic words any more because I need to know how to hear God's voice for
myself." Here is an example of one of our subscribers. He is learning to hear
God's voice...but, more importantly, to DO SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT HE HEARD GOD
SAY.
God told him that the secular media would help him to promote his trip and his
reconciliation activities.
Judge for yourself if Geoff heard God's voice correctly!
Blessings,

THE ELIJAH LIST
About ten months ago, God began
speaking to me about repenting for my hometown of Liverpool in regards to their
involvement in the trans-Atlantic slave trade during the eighteenth and
nineteenth centuries. Liverpool, England, was one of the major ports in the
world at the time and, for about sixty years, they dominated the slave trade,
exporting over a million and half slaves from West Africa to the colonies of
America and Jamaica. John Newton, the man who wrote Amazing Grace,
captained one of the ships out of Liverpool and was converted during a storm on
his way back there. He later became one of the leading abolitionists until
slavery was outlawed in Great Britain in 1807.
One night, I had a dream about taking a stand against racism and woke up the
next morning with the presence of God all over me. I remember thinking to
myself, "I wonder if God wants me to start reaching out to African Americans
now?" He had been speaking to me about a change of direction in ministry for
some time. Later that day, I was talking to a friend while driving along in the
car listening to KHPE, a local Christian radio station, telling her about the
dream and what I felt like God was saying.
Soon after this, a voice came on the radio and said, "There was once a man who
sailed from Liverpool to reach out to the African slaves..." It was Chuck
Swindol. It blew me away at the time, as you can imagine, but it confirmed the
new direction that God had for me. Not long after that, I started a trip of
identificational repentance, where I would go to the different places on the
East coast and Southern states of America, praying and repenting for my
ancestors' roles in the slave trade. I decided to call it "The Amazing Grace
Tour."
The Lord Said, "I Am Going
to Use the Secular Media to Help Promote the Trip"
Before I left, I felt that the Lord said he was going to use the secular media
to help promote the trip. He also said that I would get the maximum amount of
fruit, from the minimum amount of effort, which was fine with me. Resting in the
Lord is the only way to travel.
While I was in Mobile, Alabama, recently, the local CBS and NBC TV stations
filmed and interviewed me on the streets. As well as the prayer/intercession
side of things that I've been doing, there is also a lot of public repentance
and evangelism that happens. Very often people will ask for prayer for healing
and other issues in their life. This is what they filmed me doing. Both of the
people who interviewed me, it turned out, were Christians, and we got to pray
afterwards that God would use it to further His Kingdom.
Both channels aired the item on the evening news and were very positive. It was
so different to hear the message that forgiveness is more powerful than hatred,
and that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. I was so proud to
be humble.
Reporter Prophesies About the Next Stop
The newscaster even prophesied, without knowing it. I'd been praying about where
to go next and heard the Lord say to go back to New Orleans. I may have
mentioned it to a pastor that I was with, that I was thinking about going there,
and he may have mentioned it to the reporter, but I hadn't decided to go there
at that point until God confirmed it later, but at the end of the piece the
newscaster said, "His next stop, New Orleans."
God's heart in all of this is to complete the healing of African Americans from
the injustices of the past, and also to bring reconciliation and blessing to
both black people and the people of Liverpool. A pastor in Atlanta, whose church
I spoke at, commented that, "Rather than opening old wounds, this is helping to
heal wounds that have never been closed."
A lot of black people that I talk to, especially in the South, are still under
some kind of bondage as a direct result of the slave trade. Families are
fatherless, hope is nonexistent in some places, and black people are still
slaves -- if not physically, they are prisoners mentally and spiritually, still
thinking of themselves as inferior and oppressed. There is still much healing
and blessing that God wants to do in the lives of African Americans.
I'm currently on my way back from New York, where I've been ministering, along
with another ministry in the Bronx, after being in New Orleans for a week. Many
things happened there, that, if I were to mention them all, would take many
emails that would fill lots of computers all over the world.
