James W. Goll, Franklin, TN
In Scripture, we often find that the number three is very strategic. Genesis 1:3 states, "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." God is described as Three in One, Blessed Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Where two or three are gathered together in His name, there He is in our midst—the power of the prayer of agreement (see Matthew 18:19-20). And in Ecclesiastes 4:12, "...A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart." Three seems to be a winning combination!
As I said, in early August I was given unusual sequential dreams featuring triplets and sporting events. Let me unpack these two dreams about God's Triple Crown Winners.
It's Off to the Races!
In the first dream, I watched a series of horse races. I was in the stands observing a major horse race. Exuberant fans filled the stands of this southern gala affair. I saw the gallant horses in the stalls raring to go and the jockeys positioned in their stirrups waiting for the bell to ring. The horses had their blinders on so as not to look upon the competition but to only look straight ahead. At one point, I could even see the horses' nostrils flaring, which showed their extreme focus and energy. The bell rang and off they went. (Photo via Unsplash)
The scene repeated three times. I pondered in the dream, What is this? Eventually, I realized that the people in the stands were not dressed the same, the cultural surroundings were different and the racetrack was distinct each time. In fact, it appeared to be three completely different races.
While I was observing this repeated horse dream, I realized I was observing three great horse races which are held in different locations of the United States: 1) The Kentucky Derby, 2) The Preakness Stakes, and 3) The Belmont Stakes. Together, these three horse races comprise the Triple Crown.
The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, commonly known as the Triple Crown, is a title awarded to a three-year-old thoroughbred horse. Normally, the Kentucky Derby is held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY in early May. The Preakness Stakes is held next in Baltimore, MD towards the end of May. The longest race of all is the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, NY in June.
Over the past 100 years of horse racing history, there have only been 13 horses who have won all three of these races and were thus named the Triple Crown Winner! What a rare feat!
I woke up from this dream hearing the words, "It's off to the races!"
A Grand Announcement Is Being Made
The following morning, I received another major sports-related dream. Again, this is not my normative dream language, so it was very intriguing to me that the Holy Spirit spoke to me in such a manner. I dreamt of a Major League Baseball Game occurring.
In this situation, I was watching from my home on a big screen television set, unlike my experience in the stands in the horse racing dream. At home, I was watching what is commonly referred to as "America's Team"—the Atlanta Braves.
It appeared to be the end of the baseball season and an announcement was made that an award was being given to the Triple Crown Winner. The term "Triple Crown" generally refers to the batting achievement. A batter who completes in one season leading a league in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in (RBI) may be said to have won the "Triple Crown."
In this dream, the award was given to an unknown player, a relatively little-known person. The grand announcement was made and the people in the stands went wild—standing to their feet, applauding and cheering. "You kept your eyes on the prize. You endured. You finished well! You kept your eyes on the prize. You endured. You finished well!" It was an electric moment full of excitement and energy celebrating perseverance. (Photo via Pexels)
A Resounding Word
These dreams contained an enormous amount of prophetic symbolism—from being brave to finishing well. But I do not sense that my job, this time, is to decipher each part. I want to keep the main message the main message. I want to keep this simple and maintain the primary focus. I want to keep the message clear.
I woke up with a thought resonating within me, "God has a Triple Threat! God Has His Triple Crown Winners!" Who are they? What are the commodities they carry? As for me and my house, these Triple Crown Winners are People of Prayer, People of the Prophetic and Carriers of His Brilliant Presence.
I want to be one of God's Triple Crown Winners. How about you? It's time for God's Persevering Team to wake up, run the race and finish well!
