COMPANY OF HEAVENLY-MINDED CAMPANOLOGISTS!
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels
in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Matthew 24:36 (NIV)
On Sunday evening just before I went to bed, I had a vision of Jesus ringing a small
handheld bell. Puzzled at the picture before me, I asked, "What are you doing Lord?"
He replied, "I want to teach my children the art of heavenly campanology."
As you can imagine, I was somewhat perplexed (probably much as you are now. <smile>).
I paused in my mind and thought about what campanology meant. I reached for the
dictionary to refresh my memory, which stated "the art or practice of bell ringing."
A SPIRITUAL RIDDLE
The Lord was gracious and patient with me as I pondered this spiritual riddle! He
spoke to me again. In the vision he held the bell out to me and said, "Would you
like to try?"
Feeling rather clumsy and awkward
I said, "Lord, I can't do that. I don't know how."
Still smiling, Jesus said, "It's funny, child, but that is what all my children
say the first time I ask them this question."
With this, the Lord permitted me to
see back in time, and I saw a line of anointed men and women of God who have preached
the Gospel with power and compassion down through history. The Lord revealed how
they had each taken a turn to line up and learn how to play the bell that Jesus
was holding in his hand! Amongst them I saw John Wesley, George Whitefield, William
J. Seymour, Martin Luther King, Kathryn Kuhlman, Smith Wigglesworth, and countless
other preachers and revivalists. They appeared to have had the same conversation
with Jesus as I was currently experiencing.
LEARNING TO IMITATE JESUS
I was still feeling slightly confused, but felt encouraged to "have a go." The Lord
began to ring the bell in his hand, and I also took up a small bell in my hand and
started to play. It really was a wonderful experience playing a tune on the bell
with Jesus, and I was amazed at how easy it was when I concentrated on following
Christ and His lead; it was so simple to echo and imitate what He was doing. The
harmony was beautiful. I felt wrapped up in unity with Jesus.
When the vision ended I was left with a sense of the strategic nature of what I
had just seen, but had not yet fully understood. I prayed for wisdom and discernment
and slowly the spiritual conundrum began to make sense. Deep in thought and prayer,
I earnestly pursued the fullness of comprehending the message Jesus had shown me.
Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, "Child, what you have seen and heard is about
listening to my Spirit; it is about understanding the times, it's about heralding
the message from heaven, and it's about being in harmony and unity with heaven.
It's about healing and it's about salvations."
HERALDS OF THE GOOD NEWS
I started to think about occasions when bells are rung in communities, cities, and
nations. I pondered how bells are rung to warn us in times of crisis, such as war
and times of national disaster. Bells are rung to gather people together, often
to announce critical/crucial information. Sometimes bells are rung for celebration
(such as a wedding or church service), but often bells are rung to let people know
of impending disaster, gathering people together to make preparations and prepare
rescue plans.
I recapped on the vision, and heard the Spirit of the Lord say, "I am seeking a
company of heavenly-minded campanologists, those who are willing to be heralds of
the Good News."
WAKE UP CHURCH! JESUS IS COMING BACK!
In my heart of hearts, I had a profound sense of the importance of understanding
the time and context of such a message and call from God the Father in this hour.
It occurs to me that very few of us could sleep through the sound of a bell ringing.
Similarly, Jesus does not want us to sleep through this wake up call to the church.
The spiritual symbolism of the bell in the hand of Jesus is a wake up call to the
church to rise up and preach the Good News, because time is of the essence. God
loves us too much to allow us to die in sin, and so he is sending a wake up call
to the church and the nations of the world. Father wants to remind us, in his mercy,
that Jesus is coming back.
In the vision, as long as I concentrated on imitating Christ, I was able to follow
the Master with ease. We, as believers, need only focus on following Jesus and we
will be fully equipped in his love, grace, and power to share the Good News of the
Gospel. No matter how nervous we may feel, or how little experience we may or may
not have, no matter our age, our gender, our social standing, our culture, Jesus
calls us to be heralds in His hands to allow the message of God's love to ring out
loud and clear in our lives, from our hearts, in our words and deeds and thoughts.
We must proclaim and declare the Gospel with boldness. Let our minds be full of
Christ and our mission be to say and do what we hear our Father saying and doing.
May each one of us walk in the reality that we are revival flames in His hands.
Each one of ours hearts set ablaze with love for Jesus, each one of us longing for
souls with His passion.
ALL FOR JESUS
God is releasing a fresh anointing on the earth to raise up an end-time army of
preachers, revivalists, and those who will bring healings and salvations to the
multitudes in the name of Jesus Christ. We may be nearer to the second coming of
Jesus Christ than we realize. Only Father knows the time of Jesus' Second coming,
but we are called to prepare and be ready for that time. Dear child of God, open
your heart today and receive a fresh anointing to share the love of God. Trust Jesus
to give you words to say and pray. Release your resources into mission. Give with
a glad heart of your time, your energy, and your heart. It's all for the glory of
Jesus.
