"...And these signs shall follow them that believe; In
my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they
shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:17-19

"I Don't Preach an Easy
Gospel"
Yes, I preach the gospel. I declare the power and glory of Jesus Christ, the Son
of the Living God. I preach the cross of Christ, the power and wisdom of God. It
is not an easy gospel. It cost God everything - His very best - His own Son! In
Deuteronomy, chapter 4, Moses brought a solemn warning. He said, "You must go in
and possess the land." Then in verses 26 and 27, he said, "You will face difficulty
and trial." When I preach the gospel, I preach reality. I do not tell a person that
coming to Christ is suddenly a life of comfort and ease with no challenges.
We are at war with an enemy who will challenge our rights of possession. Moses encourages
the people in verse 29, "If from where you are, you will seek the Lord God, you
will find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart." In the midst of every adverse
circumstance and stressing situation, there you will find God.
I can stand up in Healing Campaigns and conferences and boast about the God who
can do anything. I don't preach, I boast - not in myself, but I boast in Jesus.
"I Am Proud of Jesus"
I am glad that Jesus is the head of the church. I'm glad that He is head of every
person in the church. I'm very glad that pastors, the pope, the fivefold ministry...none
of these are head of the church. The church has only one head. There is no other
"headship" in the church - only Jesus. He is more than enough. Yes, there is leadership
in the church, but that leadership is under Christ's headship.
"He Is the God
of Miracles"
How do you recognize God? How do you find Him? What is the evidence of God's existence
in the Bible? It's the fact that He is the God of miracles. This is the reality.
This is the evidence of God's existence and the truth of the Bible.
Moses said in Deuteronomy 4:32, "Ask from one side of Heaven to the other, whether
there has been any such great thing as this thing is?" He challenges the people.
"Have you ever seen a miracle as great as this that God did when He delivered Israel
out of Egypt by miracles and wonders?"
"Has Anyone
Ever Seen or Heard Anything Like This Before?"
In the last days, God is speaking to the church. He is telling us, "I am prepared
to do something greater, bigger, more miraculous than anything that has ever been
seen before on the earth or in the church."
People will ask, "Has anyone ever seen or heard anything like this before?" Yes,
before Jesus comes in my lifetime, God is going to reveal His glory on earth. I
am determined to see it.
"Homecomers"
in Holland
God's miracles were in evidence in our most recent trip to the Netherlands. The
Gospel was preached. People responded. The result? Healings, miracles, and salvations
in abundance. In two weeks, from June 13th to June 26th, we held conferences, evangelistic
outreaches, and healing in the streets and marketplace.
One of the most personally gratifying experiences was our outreach to the "Homecomers."
That's what the young people call them...the Homecomers. Why? Because that's what
is happening. They are coming home. They are coming to Jesus! They are what are
commonly called "street people." They are the broken and the worst. Society's outcasts.
They are drug addicts, prostitutes, mentally ill, people with no home, no family,
and no longer any purpose in living. Rather than call them by a demeaning name like
"addicts" or "street people" or "beggars," they simply call them "Homecomers," because
they see their potential!
The young people at The Hague had established this outreach. They urged me, "Bob
come with us to the Homecomers meeting. It will impact you and you can bring healing
to us."
It started with one young lady, about age 19, had seen the need
and felt the call to reach out to this homeless, hopeless group of street people.
She went to her pastor and asked his permission, blessing, and support. His reply
was, "This is a dangerous undertaking for a young single female. If you can gather
a team to work with you, I'll give you my blessing and you will have the full support
of the church."
Soon a team had gathered around her leadership and the Homecomers outreach was born.
Ministering In The Streets
I went with them. It was Saturday night about 5 PM. We found ourselves in the seediest
part of town - the slums. We gingerly stepped our way through broken wine bottles,
vomit, alcoholics, and drug users lying along the sidewalk of the place. It was
a room about 50' x 75' with simple tables and seating for about 50 or 60 people.
The young people served. It was a delicious meal, served up with genuine compassion
and caring love and respect. I could feel the love. The street people could feel
the love. It was obvious in everyone's faces. Still, the attention span of these
people was about one minute. They were smoking and going and coming helter-skelter.
The Atmosphere
Changed With Abandoned Worship...
As the meal drew to a close, the young leaders went up front and began to worship
Jesus with all their hearts and with wild abandon. It was electric. The atmosphere
in the room changed. It was changed with glory. God's presence was tangible.
...And God Took Over
They invited me to speak briefly. I shared. They paid attention. Then came the invitation
- salvation and healing. They came forward. What happened next was sovereign. The
power of God began to hit people. No one touched them. No one prayed. Suddenly,
people all over the room were struck to the floor as if by some invisible force.
They were flopping about like fish out of water. Demons were coming screaming out
of people. Others were getting healed. Still others, who had not even heard that
there was such a person as the Holy Spirit, were speaking rapid-fire in tongues
like a machine gun.
This went on for about five hours. God was sovereignly moving about the room healing,
saving, filling, and delivering. No one was orchestrating or manipulating. It was
God's glorious freedom and powerful manifest presence.
The next day some of these same people were in church for the first time in their
lives, testifying to Jesus' delivering, saving power.
Pure, Poor and Obedient
In Spirit
While waiting on the Lord before ministry in the district of Rotterdam, I had an
experience. In it I saw a group of about 45 people. They looked like ordinary, multi-ethnic
young people. As I looked at this group of ordinary men and women, mostly young
people, I began to sob and weep because the very glory of the living God descended
upon them and remained on this group. They were transformed in a moment of time.
I began to passionately preach to them, declaring their destiny in God. I declared
that they were a representative group of end-time overcomers. The glory of God would
inhabit them and they would do the very works of Jesus, and even the greater works.
They would see creative miracles and the dead raised. I declared that they would
be people who were:
a. pure in spirit
b. poor in spirit
c. obedient in spirit.
They would be pure. That is, undefiled by idolatry or compromise. They would walk
in purity and true holiness.
They would be poor. That is, they would not value possessions, but would "sell out"
for the gospel. No one would own them. They would not be bought, sidetracked, or
tempted by earthly possessions.
Finally they would be obedient. They would obey the slightest promptings of the
Holy Spirit. They would "follow the Lamb wherever He goes."
This, I feel, is a prophetic picture of the rising generation of young people in
Holland and, in a wider application, a picture of the rising generation of Christian
young people world-wide.
"Your Only Hope is Jesus" - TESTIMONY -
MATHILDE VAN DE RIDDER, The Hague, Netherlands
"My husband called it the greatest miracle he had ever seen. We had been co-pastors
for several years. One day, I became ill. The sickness progressed. My doctor, a
Christian man, was unable to find the source of my illness. I became weaker and
weaker. The pain and debilitation increased. Then my body systems and vital organs
began to shut down. I lost a great deal of weight. Pain wracked my body. Finally,
I was an invalid. I could only lie on the living room floor of my house, barely
able to move. I could hardly eat.
"Fluid was draining from every orifice of my body.
"My doctor informed me that I was near death and that medical science could do no
more for me. He further informed me that my only hope was Jesus. He said, 'There
is a healing team with Bob Brasset from Canada [that is] going to be in Rotterdam.
You must go to that meeting, even if I have to order an ambulance to take you there.'
"I obeyed. It was the final night of the conference. My husband assisted me and
I went to the front with his help. Bob Brasset, from Canada, stood there. He looked
at me and simply said, "Spirit of misery, in Jesus' name, come off her!" Instantly
I was healed. Immediately, I felt something leave me, and strength surged back into
my body. Color returned to my cheeks. Pale left. I could walk and run and function
normally. From that moment until this one, three years later, I have never had any
of those illnesses or symptoms." - Mathilde Van de Ridder, The Hague, Netherlands
