-- A Word about Where the Lord is Taking Us and How to Follow "That" Cloud [available until the last day of February]

Each month, I try to devote one posting to talking about the Word for the month. This month, the Lord has put this word on my heart as to the "Awakening of Grace" that is coming to the Church.

Most Believers, before they are very far along in their walk with the Lord, encounter those certain brothers or sisters in the church, who always seem to know what God wants, (even chapter and verse), and they can recite who isn't living up to what God wants, and often, they even tell you what they are doing (or going to do) to get those "disobedient" ones to hear where they are missing it--where they've gone wrong.

Ever find yourself saying, almost unconsciously, "If I had a sin I needed to confess, I'd never go to him (or her). I would just get kicked for doing it."

I get around 100 emails a day here at THE ELIJAH LIST, and only a few get published. Now, most are good words or teaching but somehow some aren't just quite the Spirit-empowered Word for the whole church that I'm looking for--though as I say--most are good! There are a few, however, that aren't good--mainly they are "words" that are railing against the modern-day church, (especially in America) crying out against what's wrong with it, and the pastors in it, and the people in it.

When reading some of these "words" (that are really condemning in nature) you might get the impression that the only person in the world, or in the church that really understands the true condition of "sin in the church" is this one person giving the word.

ENTER--- GRACE!!

DID YOU KNOW? Grace was so important to Jesus that He named his throne after it:

Heb 4:16 "Let us then approach the THRONE OF GRACE with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and FIND GRACE to help us in OUR TIME OF NEED."

What is this thing called GRACE that we are to come so boldly to receive?

Then we have this scripture:

"...For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:16-1)

Moses was the most highly revered person in Biblical times, along with the Patriarchs. When Pharisees came to trap Jesus, they would often use the "Law of Moses" saying, "Moses told us this." What do YOU say, Jesus?" But Moses didn't write the Law. God did.

So why did the law, given THROUGH Moses, Holy, Just, and Good, as it was---give place to "GRACE AND TRUTH" through Jesus Christ?

These are some of the questions in this Word to the church about the AWAKENING OF GRACE:

Here are questions we will deal with in this tape:

1. If the Law is "Holy, Just, and Good," why does Jesus come along and appear to change the emphasis?

2. Just what do people mean when they say, "we're living in the age of grace," and is that true or not?

3. If Grace was this important, why wasn't it taught through Moses too? Or was it?

4. Jesus came along and said, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father," and yet, what we know of God in the "Old Testament"--Well, wasn't God a bit harsh and not all that grace-oriented?" Do we not understand God correctly?

5. Some preachers and teachers are saying, "It's high time we started calling sin--SIN!" Is this true? Should there be more strong teaching against sin? Is that why there's so much sin in the church--because we don't teach against it enough?

6. If I'm a person who can't seem to give people much grace or mercy - how do I change? Lord knows I've tried, and yet I always see what people SHOULD do! Aren't some of us needed to balance out "cheap grace?"

7. Some people have said, "Oh, are you one of those people that believe in "cheap grace?" What do they mean by that? Is there such a thing?

8. Many are saying that revival just can't start until we get our act together--until we start being more Holy--Is this true or isn't it?

9. One says, "My pastors preaches too much against sin all the time" and another says, "My pastor always speaks of grace and never preaches against sin." Learn what the Lord is saying about Grace in BOTH situations. Armed with this understanding (and the understanding to all these questions), many will, I believe, for the first time, walk in the greatest FREEDOM and GRACE they have ever walked in. I do not believe that statement to be hype--but a powerful understanding of what the Lord is saying to the Church.
