Did you
Know You Can Rent an Entire Theatre for the LOST and your Congregation?
Note from Steve Shultz:
In many cases, theatres plan to show "THE PASSION
OF THE CHRIST" for only two days. But you can change that. Your Church,
or ministry, or JUST YOU can buy out the theatre to show to the LOST and
also to you own Church. I like the idea of showing to your whole church. I
like it better if you plan to invite the LOST to see this film.

P.S. My thanks to Connie Gerig, who works for me, who helped me accumulate
all this information.

own PRIVATE auditorium at your local movie theater? If you are interested in
this rare offer, and have contacted your local movie theater to get the
“okay,” we have the contact information for you to take advantage of this

Dear Steve at THE ELIJAH LIST,
My husband, Steve, and I were given tickets to see The Passion of the
Christ movie premier at SaddleBack Church in January. Before we
attended, we had heard of this movie and, although we were looking forward
to seeing it when it came out, we were leery of another cheezy Christian
movie that wouldn't portray Jesus in a correct way.
Despite our reservations, we attended the premier and were changed beyond
belief. Lee Stroble opened the premier by stating that he didn't know what
to say about the movie except that it will change our lives... and it
certainly did.
It changed our lives so much that we came home and called our local theater
to see if the movie would be showing, as we were wanting to buy 50 tickets
for our high school youth to attend. The theater gave us the run around, so
we called the Regal Theaters main offices in Colorado. The same day we spent
$2,500 of our own money to purchase 275 tickets. Not only were we able to
purchase 275 tickets, but we were able to purchase a premier showing that
will be played 2 days prior to its opening.
This morning at our church worship service, our 275 tickets were sold for
$7.00 ($2.00 under cost), and they were completely sold out within 5
minutes. Our congregation was so excited to see this movie that we have
people waiting to buy more. We are looking into purchasing another 275
tickets for our congregation for [the] Tuesday following (the night before
it opens).
It cost us more to buy out the preview showings, but to us it was worth it.
It ended up costing us $9.06 per ticket (275 seating). They add the normal
cost of $7.25 per ticket as well as a auditorium rental fee of $500. We sold
the tickets to our congregation at $7.00 per ticket...because we didn't want
to make money on the deal...we just wanted them to see the movie. I've had
over 100 phone calls at church today of people wanting more tickets!! Wow!
We are so sold on this movie that we are willing to put in our own resources
to get the word out. This movie will change lives more than any other movie
has done so far.
I appreciate your website and the word that it is getting out about this
movie. I will never be the same, and we hope that 550 people that we are
investing in will be changed just as well. Praise God!!!
Susanne

Subject: Re: My Church Bought Out An Entire Theatre For Feb. 25th
Importance: High
Hi Steve,
I wanted to share with you that the Leeward campus of my home church, New
Hope Christian Fellowship - Oahu (we have 4 Sunday locations) decided to buy
out an entire theater on the opening night of "The Passion of the
Christ." We bought 442 seats for the 7:30 PM showing. Our church has
around 12,000 coming on the weekends and about 2000 of those are coming to
Leeward. Pastor Mike showed the 4 minute trailer on Wednesday night. Then
had sold more than 200 tickets at the staff meeting the night before, and
after showing the trailer, people, including myself were going to the back
and purchasing tickets before the end of the service. I am sure the tickets
will probably be gone before Sunday. There is the possibility of buying out
another showing also.
On Feb. 25th, we are going to meet at 7:00 PM for worship (in the theater)
and then watch the movie as a church family. Afterward, there will be time
for discussion and ministry. PRAISE GOD!!!
Maybe you would want to share this so that other churches would do the same.
Maybe they are already doing this. I know we need to pack the theaters
during the first weekend of this movie. I thought this was such a great
idea.
Blessings,
John
