"Francis Frangipane Calls for Renewed
Prayer Vigilance Against Renewed 9/11-type Attack on USA"

URGENT PRAYER FOCUS
We have been living with the potential for terrorism for a long time and, by the
grace of God, we have not seen a major 9-11 type attack on American or Western soil.
However, I feel that over these past months a false sense of security has lulled
some of us into a more relaxed prayer posture. In my opinion, it is just this kind
of spiritual vulnerability that sets the stage for the enemy to fulfill terrorist
plans.
To accept the responsibility to pray for our respective nations, beloved, is to
move toward the highest realms of God's destiny for the church. With confidence,
I say that God's word will be fulfilled: before Jesus returns, the church will truly
become a house of prayer for all nations. Yet, whether our transformation occurs
prior to, or as a result of, terrorist attacks is up to us.
I also want to be clear that my issuing this warning is not because of a unique
or specific word from the Lord. Yet, the signs are all around us: consider a recent
Fox News report where radical Muslims have recently begun warning nominal Muslims
to leave New York City, Los Angeles and Washington DC.

Do we need a major spiritual sign to discern we need to
pray?
This past summer Attorney General John Ashcroft warned:
"We must not forget that Al Qaeda's primary terrorist target is the United States
of America. Even though recent attacks were overseas, the terrorist network is committed
to killing innocent Americans, including women and children, by the thousands, or
even the millions, if they can.
"Nazer bin Hamd al-Fahd is a prominent extremist Saudi cleric known to have significant
connections to Al Qaeda operatives . . . Just last month, he issued a new fatwa
entitled 'The Legal Status of Using Weapons of Mass Destruction Against Infidel.'
This fatwa laid out last month its religious arguments for the use of weapons of
mass destruction against Americans, including women and children. Let me quote--he
puts it this way and I'm quoting now, 'Anyone who considers America's aggressions
against Muslims and their lands during the past decade will conclude that striking
her is permissible . . . The weapons of mass destruction will kill any of the infidels
on whom they fall, regardless of whether they are fighters, women or children. They
will destroy and burn the land. The arguments for the permissibility are many .
. . If a bomb that killed 10 million of them and burned as much of their land as
they have burned Muslims' land were dropped on them, it would be permissible.! '
" [end quote]
Remember, this was a quote from this past summer. Radicals have issued many threats
and their ongoing rhetoric is actually a weapon they use to inspire fear. However,
these threats carry greater weight today due to the escalation of the war in Iraq
and also due to the Muslim season of Ramadan. It is during this particular season
when Muslims expect Allah to help in their war efforts against their enemies.
The Enemy's Time is Short
In contrast to these threats, I personally believe America is moving toward revival.
There are many, many indicators to confirm this, and genuine, measurable changes
are occurring in our land. Satan knows that a redeemed America will be used mightily
by God to redeem the world. However, God's word also warns that Satan rages, "knowing
his time is short," and an attack of great magnitude could easily demoralize those
waging war against terrorism, making way for the spread of Islam and the final war
against Israel.
So, all this is to say, we need to pray. We do not need to fear--God has been answering
our prayers in many tremendous ways--but we cannot let even a day pass without heartfelt
intercession for our homelands.
God's word encourages us that, "the people who know their God will display strength
and take action" (Dan 11:32b). Let us not fear, but move in faith--divine exploits
shall be done by many during these days! Indeed, the Holy Spirit promises that a
visible glory awaits the overcoming church. Though "darkness will cover the earth,
and deep darkness the peoples," yet "the Lord will rise upon you, and His glory
will appear upon you" (Isa 60:2). The war we are fighting is real and the enemy
is desperate. Yet, our God is the great Redeemer King. By His grace, let us rise
in prayer and faith for the nations where God has placed us. Let us hold true the
Father's promise, that even in such a time as this: "nations will come to [our]
light, and kings to the brightness of [our] rising" (Isa 60:3).
