God Speaks to a New Prophetic Voice from South Africa about America

The ministry through Benjamin is called to be a carrier of the flame. God specifically spoke through a prophetic word to him that he was to "take the fire". In an open vision where he saw many laying lifeless, he heard the words, "tell them to get up." In the vision, the hot coals of fire had already begun to burn inside of him, all he had to do was release it. Many churches all over are reporting renewal, healings and deliverance through the prophetic impartation that is released. His dedication to the call of God that he received as a young boy has propelled him into deep dimensions of God. In South Africa and the U.S.A. he is recognized for his integrity as well as the accuracy in the gifts. Currently he is in the forefront and working with many of the strong spiritual leaders in South Africa, such as Kobus van Rensburg, whose show on TBN Africa, is one of the most popular. He has spoken of this ministry as dynamic, accurate and reliable, and actively endorses him.

Benjamin envisions a mighty restoration of God’s power for the greater works. He calls it, " Manifesting the manifesto."

Below is an interview with Benjamin that will give you a greater understanding of who he is and what he he has been called to do..

Q. Where were you born?
A. Born in Durban, South Africa

Q. When did you commit your life to Christ?
A. One day, when I was eight years old, I was playing outside, minding my own business, when a burning conviction overcame me and I began to weep. I felt vulnerable and exposed. Together with this conviction came an intense love from the Lord towards me, which blanketed the conviction. I searched for someone to help because I didn’t understand what was happening. Thank the Lord my Mom was in the living room. All I remember saying was, "Mom, I need Jesus! I need Jesus!" I had known Him as young boy and I had experienced Him many times, but yet, that particular day was a turning point - the day that He wanted to be Lord and have me make an official declaration. In obedience, I prayed the sinner’s prayer and I became born again. There was a strong affirmation made through this life changing experience.

Q. Do you remember your first spiritual encounter?
A. From childhood, my memories are filled with many wonderful encounters of God manifesting Himself in miraculous ways. For me, they are the visible, unquestionable, encounters of my life. These are the building blocks that defined who I was and that kept me focused on the Call.

Q. What was your first major encounter?
A. When I was five years old, I was praying with some others. We were all on our knees and we had all been praying in the Spirit for some time. I recall the time being closer to midday. The Lord’s manifest presence began to fill the room. The presence was very powerful and demanding. I felt as if my whole being was pulled into a different place and, for me, this was most exhilarating. As an intense Godly fear consumed the atmosphere, my first reaction was to keep my face to the floor. But then later, my curiosity urged me to nervously gaze upwards. I looked straight into these piercing eyes. The eyes just looked straight into me, striking every cell in my body, releasing such peace. He knew my every thought. The entire place was reverentially silent, and my body lay motionless but yet fixed on Him. I remember thinking to myself to not move.

Standing right in front of the door and still staring at me, with His arms outstretched, He smiled like He was excited to give me something. He began to release an anointing upon me that I felt in my Spirit, but He didn’t say much. That moment wasn’t what was said, but what was released. Jesus personally revealed Himself to me and showed His call over my life. He explained how I would take Him to the Nations of the World. So much was established that day. From that time, I have had numerous visions, dreams and, on occasions, supernatural encounters. But to me, that meeting was the most life changing. I could never leave Him after experiencing such a deep revelation of Him and understanding of the call.

Q. What are your earliest memories of church?
A. My memories start in the Charismatic renewal as a young boy. My dad was Catholic and my mom Dutch Reformed. They were both impacted by the sovereign move of the Spirit during that era and they left everything to go into the ministry. I remember taking my blanket along with me as a young boy whilst we journeyed from meeting to meeting, not wanting to miss anything that God was doing! My earliest memories are not so much of the Church, but rather of the move of God in our lives, of the miracles encountered and of constantly seeing the influx of new souls from receiving salvation. We were constantly on the road and on the move for God, and everywhere that we went, instead of having conversations, we would be praying in the Spirit. It was awesome! I loved that! I remember the hunger for more of God and how churches were being birthed all over. I believe a greater move is about to break forth once more.

Q. What was your family life like growing up?
A. Whilst growing up, family life was not the normal kind and, by comparison, my life did not relate to many others that I have known. It was always God-centered and people-focused. By the age of seven, I had already been to four nations of the world on the mission field. I had seen deliverances, healings, and miracles of provision. The countries I went to were Mauritius, India, Hong Kong and the Philippines. I remember how I loved flying on Airplanes. I was so used to living out of suitcases (and I still am) because we were always in different geographical locations for the work of God. Things, such as homes, and the sort of things that most people prioritize were never an issue in our family, although we each had our responsibilities and individual parts to play within our household. It was the "faith life" we chose and lived. We put our trust wholly and completely in God to meet our every need.

I can remember one time when we had no food. Prayer was always the answer during situations like that. As a family unit, prayer was made in agreement for our provision. Thanking God for multiplication, we laid hands on the refrigerator. My younger sister needed milk for her bottle and there was only a little bit of milk left in the carton. When we came back the next morning, the milk in the fridge had changed into thick cream. All we needed to do was add water to the cream to make milk. Again, on the second day, we added water because what was left had became like thick cream. For seven days, all we did was add water to the thick cream to have the most wonderful milk. There are many miraculous stories I can relate, but this particular experience is one of my encounters of God’s personal provision during my childhood.

Q. When did you begin to operate in the gift of prophecy?
A. It was there from very young age. Once, in a vision, when I was seven years of age, I saw my dad’s car, which was a white Toyota. It was old and beaten up - a real faith mobile. My dad was driving over a bridge in it and halfway across the bridge, the vehicle just stopped and broke down. Then I saw how this friend of my dad’s, whom he had just met, drove up in a green Mazda 323 to assist. Instead of helping, he gave my dad his car! The next day, exactly as it was revealed in the vision, it happened. "How amazing is the Lord!"

Also at the age of seven walking downstairs in the morning, amongst other early visions and encounters, I saw an immense pair of bright feet was standing in our living room. I simply stared at the heavenly feet, and remained staring, as they didn’t moved for 15 minutes.

During childhood, there have been further periods when my eyes have been opened to Spiritual Beings in the Heavenlies. One such time was when I walked into a room while others were intently praying. The roof of the room disappeared before my very eyes, and in the same room, what at that age seemed as real as you and me, I saw thousands of angels warring off these demonic spirits. I saw how concentrated the battle was that they were engaged in, and how the prayer was working alongside the angels. God showed me the need and power of "prayer cover".

When I was about nine, I was at an intercession meeting. There was this one man and his wife that were the Sunday School leaders at my Dad’s Church. I saw this weird demon-looking spirit standing behind them both, controlling them. I later informed my parent’s of this. The next week, it began to manifest through them, as was shown to me, and they were removed from the congregation.

The list of experiences that I have had with the Holy Spirit goes on, but there was never any trying to operate in or stir anything. What came by the Holy Ghost to me was released through me. It was a very simple mode of operation. The gift, which has been there in different manifestations, has matured in diverse areas but the character that has had to be developed alongside is and was the most important.

Q. When did you realize that you were called to the office of prophet?
A. I realized it at about ten years of age.

Q. How did it happen?
A. I remember a Prophet came to a conference in Durban, South Africa when I was about ten or so. I got to spend some time with him. It was not a long time, but being with him did something to me. He was the first really accurate prophet I had met. I remember his eyes and how he looked through a person. It wasn’t his style that impressed me but what was in him that I was drawn to. He prophesied some key events that happened within the Church and over peoples lives and politically as well. I felt an affinity with him. From that day, there was a realization for me as to the specifics of the office of the prophet, and that I had been called to such.

Q. How many years passed between calling and release?
A. There are different levels to any person’s call, and it is dependant upon the individual as to how far they would like to go in their pursuit of the call. Paul pressed to the High Call. In that process of discovery, there were greater levels and dynamics of testing to bring him to the place of reaching the goal or mark of the "High Call", as he called it. I believe the calling does not exclude anybody from testing. In fact, it brings these experiences on. It is the pressing that squeezes the oil, and if we want anointing, we have to be pressed.

Through these experiences, there is a greater fusion of the gifting and the calling. They are inseparable. The calling and gifting are wrapped in the character, and the substance of character is developed in the fire. These testings are what produce the fortitude or character to handle the release of the gifting. We sometimes major on one and not the other. In other words, depending where we come from we are either gift based or character based, fearing both sides.

We just have to look at Joseph to realize when he received the high call and gifting. He received these through the vision in the night, which showed his family bowing down to him. When we look at how his life changed from the moment it was delivered, and even through all the experiences he went through in Potiphars house, in prison, he was always a prince. He was who he was. He just had to go through the journey to release his call and gifting. Positionally, Joseph was always in his calling.
To conclude, I was always in my calling, but with different degrees of release and experiences. Every release came at the appropriate timing of God and through the next level of testing.

Q. Did you experience "silent years"?
A. There were no silent years, but there were testing years. In 1995, a prophet of God that had a major impact in my life called me out in a large crowd, and he looked at me and began to say, "Just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were in the fire heated seven times hotter, so I will be with you in the fire, and in the next five years you will go from glory to glory in the anointing", along with many other things he said, which were all wonderful. That part was the fire, the testing part, and so it was that fire was added to fire, test after test until God released the glory, releasing glory on glory.

Q. Tell us about some of your adult encounters with God?
A. The following experiences selected for inclusion have not been sought after, but flow out of seeking God. I believe they are for the Body.

Some three and a half years ago, I gave a prophetic word in which it was declared that "in the coming years, as the waters cover the earth, the Lord was going to release a Supernatural Technology to His body, and that it would cause His people to be way ahead of what the enemy was doing." I saw all these waters flooding the earth. Waters mean trials and tribulations, and also knowledge.

Daniel said that in the last days knowledge would increase. Human knowledge could also be like those waters overwhelming and suffocating the people and becoming a burden. I believe it is the negative spirit that pervades in our world today. What I saw was God’s supernatural technology. It was not only a barrier of defense, or shield, but, in fact, it was offensive and caused God’s people to get so far ahead of the enemy that they were translated out of that water.

The realm of the spirit, not in the strange or flaky sense, but the real spirit world, the heavenlies, where John, Paul and Ezekiel and countless others went, was where all the breakthroughs occurred. Jesus said, "I will give you the Keys to the Kingdom." Jesus gave us the Keys but He carried on to say that whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven, and what you loose on earth is loosed in heaven. We already have the keys, but like Jesus said, I only do that which my Father shows me. We need to " see" what we must do with what has been given to us. It is the seeing working alongside with the keys of binding and loosing. I believe many will now be taken into these experiences for the particular reason of being a frustration to the enemy because if we can " see" what he is planning, we can destroy what he is doing. Also if we can "see" what the Father is saying, we can align ourselves with what the Father is doing. I believe it is time now for people to have their eyes opened.
