SPECIAL ALERT: PRAYER FOR PRESIDENT BUSH



Dear Friends,

As we write this bulletin to you, President Bush is now in Bangkok, Thailand to attend the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders Conference (APEC). There is also a mounting concern among intercessors for the safety of our President, both during this trip and in the days ahead. We have now received numerous reports of an "alarm" in the spirit by intercessors from across the nation, both in their private times of prayer before the Lord, and in corporate gatherings, to intercede against any plots against the life of President Bush. We, too, bear witness to this concern.

Please find below a detailed itinerary of the president's trip in Asia this week, followed by a seven-point plan of prayer to call forth during this trip. At the end of the week, when President Bush returns to the United States, please DO NOT LET UP your intercession for his life and safety.

SECTION ONE: ITINERARY FOR PRESIDENT BUSH FOR THE APEC SUMMIT MEETING

On Thursday last week, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice outlined the itinerary for the president's trip this week. His remaining agenda includes the following:

a. President Bush is now in Bangkok, Thailand for a series of meetings with national leaders, including bilateral meetings with President Roh of South Korea, President Fox of Mexico, President Hu of China.

b. On Tuesday, October 21, the President will depart Thailand for Singapore. That evening he will meet with President Nathan and then meet and dine with Prime Minister Goh.

c. On Wednesday, Oct. 22, the President will depart Singapore for Bali, Indonesia, where he will meet and have lunch with Indonesian President Megawati. The President will also meet with moderate Muslim leaders to pay tribute to the tradition of religious tolerance in the world's most populace Muslim nation.


d. That afternoon, the President will depart Indonesia for Canberra, Australia.

e. On Thursday morning, the President will meet with Prime Minister Howard and address the Australian Parliament. The President will depart Australia for Hawaii that afternoon.

SECTION TWO: SUGGESTED PRAYER POINTS FOR PRESIDENT BUSH

1. As believers, we always begin in the place of forgiveness. Begin by asking GOD to forgive any and all who may be plotting against the life of President Bush. They know not what they do! Father God knows what lies in the hearts of the wicked, and He died on the Cross to deliver each of them from the dominion of Satan to His Glorious Kingdom!

Verse: Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. (Luke23:34)

2. There are some in the Body of Christ who may not understand this principle of forgiveness, and who, instead, are praying out of a spirit of anger, or fear. We need to forgive those who are failing to forgive . . .

Verse: For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matt. 6:14,15)

3. During his term of office, President Bush has reached out to the nations, and to the leaders of other world religions, inviting them to visit him at the White House. Although it is true that the greater one lives within us (I John 4:4), it is also true that those who serve false gods may bring curses with them that are associated with those gods.

• • a. Taking the Sword of the Spirit, cancel these curses, calling them null and void under the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh.

Verse: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb . . . (Rev. 12:11a)

• • b. Sever the cords of the wicked that may be working in concert against President Bush, in "high places."

Verses: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph. 6:12) The LORD is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked. (Ps. 129:4 NASB)

• • c. CONTINUE TO CANCEL THE "ZERO-YEAR CURSE" that might otherwise operate against any president who has been elected during a year ending in the number zero. (President Bush was elected in the Year 2000.) Thank the Lord that, as He hung on the Cross, He canceled ALL CURSES on the tree of Calvary!!

Verse: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." (Gal. 3:13)

4. If there be any inside the president's own camp or circle of advisors who are in any way associated with these plots, ask the Lord to forgive them, and to make their presence known. Bind the spirit of Judas/betrayal; loose forgiveness. Thank the Lord that His Word promises that He stands with President Bush and defends him, as his "dread champion."

Verse: All my trusted friends, Watching for my fall, say: "Perhaps he will be deceived, so that we may prevail against him And take our revenge on him." But the LORD is with me like a dread champion; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. (Jer. 20:10,11 NASB)

5. CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT ALL SLEEPER CELLS THAT WOULD OPERATE AGAINST OUR PEOPLE, AND AGAINST OUR PRESIDENT, BE REVEALED. This includes cells both inside the United States and within foreign countries.

Verse: He uncovers deep things out of darkness, And brings the shadow of death to light. (Job 12:22 NKJV)

6. Apply the Shed Blood of Jesus over every vehicle that will carry President Bush "about" on his journey. This includes "sampans" or similar small boats that travel the waterways in the nations he will visit this week.

Verse: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb . . . (Rev. 12:11a)

7. Apply the Shed Blood of Jesus over any weapon or device that might be used against the life of our president. Thank the Lord that He HAS "disarmed" them at the Cross!

Verse: And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Col. 2:15)


Finish by offering glorious PRAISE to our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, for He IS the Sovereign over the nations, and He holds all things in His hands!! Thank Him for hearing, and answering, our prayers.

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth, on that day, the LORD shall be One and His name One. (Zech. 14:9 NKJV)
