DO NOT STEER THE SHIP TO CATCH THE WIND
Mark Kaphaem
Mar 20, 2000
I had this word for a pastor friend of mine and thought it might be of help to others. I saw him at the wheel of a large sailing ship. I caught myself looking at the sails to see if they were catching the wind. The Lord told me,
"Do not steer the ship to catch the wind. Steer the ship in obedience to where I have told you to go. I will send the wind when it is time." I believe this can be applied to our personal lives also.
Acts 1:4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
Acts 2:2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
OBEDIENCE WAS THE SHORTEST PATH
Obedience brought the church from Acts 1:4 to Acts 2:2. It is the shortest path to get us to where we need to be.
